Company policy dictates that all people employed by S Corp are to maintain a log of their activities. This is so that we can maximize productivity as we move ahead towards Christmas. It also lets us find out if anyone is falling behind or may have unforseen problems in their product cycles. However, I've been so busy, I just flat out forgot to do my entries for the previous day. I think I can let my productivity speak for itself though.

Everyone is worried about the big man. He's fine, I saw him myself. Santa's a big man, and you could still tell he was okay. You could feel the Christmas just... I dunno, emanating from him. Mrs. Claus has asked me to help Santa personally, so I've been spending my nights down in our medical facility lab. We have two medical facilities, the one in the basement is reserved for people like Santa because we simply can't have the poor man getting mobbed with questions when he has very important things (Christmas) on his mind. I was down there late last night with Mrs. Claus while Santa was sleeping. Jack's punch did a number on Santa's suit, so we most certainly need to repair it. It gets really cold flying around, and without the heating unit, it would be a really rough trip.

"How are you feeling?" she asked me.

"Ho Ho Hello" I replied into the microphone, pleased that the sound came out exactly as expected. I turned off the system at that point, since I didn't want to wake Santa. "Well, I've repaired the voice speaker, and I think we've finished remapping the blueprints. It's just going to take some time and manpower."

"I've taken care of it and have started hiring additional techs. We'll be fine." she replied. I found that very reassuring.

We both jerked our heads towards the door when we heard a loud crash in the hallway. On instinct, Mrs. Claus sent out the sentry units to go check the lift and the primary floors. I still don't know the resolution of that incident, but everything seems to be okay. I spent a few more hours working on perfecting the speaker and microphone, and then decided to catch a few hours sleep. This brings us to this morning.

I have a new person under me, ElfTech 101. He seems like a nice enough kid, but I don't think his head is screwed on straight. I got a memo from the Mrs. which outlined some thing about 101 that were good to know. I think he'll make a great employee. The first order of business is to have him fill out the ordering forms we need and have the shipments arrive overnight. He won't ask about the orders, he won't even give it another thought. I understand now why he was put under me- this could be most certainly advantageous.

That just about wraps up my log for the past two days. I believe the big man is going to be able to give his speech today. It's the 15th, putting us near the 40 day mark. It's crunch time, and it's time to get busy!

Speaking of busy, I need to report back in to the Mrs. I've spent far too long on this entry as it is.

We're so behind! Christmas is a month away, and we're short on manpower, short on information (someone has to keep track of who is naughty and who is nice), and we are lacking innovative new toys for this year's Christmas. So now here I sit, starting at a list of our current staff. It's time to get busy, I'd say. Mrs. Claus tasked me with making sure everyone is busy, so I've started grouping everyone into three primary categories. R&D for toy development, NoN for Naughty or Nice Recon, and Manufacturing of toys that are in demand. The challenge is who to put where...

R&D:
I know for a fact that I'll need to be on that end. While I won't be working on toys, I will be repairing Santa's suit for the long winter flight he does. Need to seal up some of the cracks and test the heating unit. To help, I'll probably pull 101 into the department, since I can count on him to fill out forms, pick up shipments, and ask questions of others all without asking questions of his own. I will also need 137 there, he's dependable, and I know he'll do what I ask of him. If 137 comes, so will 138 since she seems to be eager to be around him. We shouldn't need more than five people right now since we're gearing up for the manufacturing push.

NoN Recon:
For going out of the north poll, 571 comes to mind. He needs to get out of the labratory a bit more since he's been here night after night. I think some fresh air in Durem for a day or more would do him well. 909 seems to be growing tired of building and manufacturing, so I will likely ask that he go to Barton for a day. I am also thinking of sending 977 to Aekea and 403 to Gambino. Once we get all the information, we can check the list twice for Santa. He's far too busy this year to check anything himself, so it's going to require the support of the entire elf team.

Manufacturing:
Finally comes the toys. We've got a few toys we need hundreds of and fast. To speed up the process, I am going to ask Mrs. Claus to do teams on some of the more complex projects:
722 to produce a CoKi Kitty. Coco was popular, Kiki was amazing, why not use the R&D from the past four weeks to put the two hottest trends together?
126 & 912 to produce the Self Warming Coffee Mug. It's popular with the morning crowd, that's for certain!
404 & 369 to create the Larry Pottar Chemistry Set. With the movie coming out this Friday, we already know there will be a huge demand for this item come the holiday season.
003 to produce Moon Shoes. Research shows that they are popular on many kids' wish lists.

Additionally, we will need to make the following adjustments for efficiency:
062 should oversee the manufacturing room floor. It's his last Christmas with us, and seeing the final "Christmas" is a sight worth seeing.
123 to manage Food Services for the company.
957 will handle our Janitorial Services during the night shift.

That should do it. Now all I have to do is propose this to Mrs. Claus and make sure we stay on track around the clock to make the best Christmas possible. Everyone around here is certainly in the spirit!

The assignments have gone remarkably well. Everyone assigned on Naughty or Nice research seems to be pulling through, and as far as I'm concerned right now, the less people in the building, the better for the R&D team's experiments and ventures. Besides, Santa has been so busy that there's no way he could get his list checked twice. We're having him take it easy until Christmas. This year is going to be an amazing year for S Corp. I've moved most of my workstation down to the sublevel since I'm down here so much. R&D has basically become my life at this point. I even got a cot for sleeping- sometimes the best ideas come in the middle of the night, and it's great to be able to wake up and then make the idea happen.

Current Mood: Mellow annoyed?
Current Music: "The Fidelity" by Mason Jazz

Edit: How frustrating! It seems S Corp has put in place some encryption tools for things they deem "sensitive". Now to go back and read what I wrote, I have to remove all those line breaks before I can decode it, and THEN I have to decode it. All this work just to remember what I did yesterday. This is most certainly going to hurt my productivity.

I can't believe we've had so many problems in shipping lately. I'm not sure why either. Everything has been at or below the weight limit- and the security camera is doing a bit too good of a job in picking up everything. Because of this, I put in a request to have all cameras in R&D shut down. Questions are certainly never a good thing, and I do believe we should be minimizing such questions.

The utility belt production turnaround was amazing! Under pressure, 003 churned out far more than we need for this season. Elves just don't have that sort of turnaround naturally. I've asked her to take a small break from production to explore other toys she might like to make. If you work too much, too long, and too hard, you will burn yourself out. We can't have anyone crumbling from stress, not at this time of the year. Speaking of burnout, it was a curious note that I didn't see a single belt logged to 722. Moonshoe production also seems to have stopped. This is certainly most curious, and I think I'll need to have a word or two with him to make sure everything is okay.

Most people should be returning from their recon assignments over the next day or more. If all goes well, we will have our Naughty/Nice list finished.

I've reassigned 957 as well. Inspecting ping pong balls for defects is one of the most important jobs anyone here at the facility could have- I'm certain he'll understand the magnitude of his assignment.

R&D has been going well. I've taken to separating out the information I know our system will encrypt from my daily report. That should make it easier to keep up on top of my work load. There were a few problems with the Yeti shipment, but I believe everything is perfectly under control.

Mrs. Claus seems to have dealt with a few employee problems we've been having. I've been so busy, I didn't even notice the wool pulled over my eyes. I'm really thankful that Mrs. Claus has such a watchful eye on everything. Since the cameras have been disabled, she has taken to personal visits to the R&D section to ensure everything is on schedule. I think she's getting impatient with us though. I should be shopping on Black Friday (that's what they call this Friday in retail), but instead I'm going to be working my tail off. No rest for those who want to make the most of it all, eh?

Ever since I started working at S-Corp, I've used my free time to read web documents on humanoid mechanics, common culture, and entertainment. My quest for knowledge led me to a small web-print organization ran by two people, one who writes the technical side and the other who provides helpful illustrations. After extensive reading, it appears the Addple core has issues. Studies show that an Addple core meltdown would throw the robotics into a defense mode to protect the technology inside. I will be pushing for a Mindows XD migration for the Santa Suit. Since we are doing so much adaptation and repair work, we really need that Plug And Play technology. Santa won't have time for a terminal window when he's flying around the world.

I just realized S-Corp alters my password length on display. There's only 8 asterisks. And I know for a fact there's two more characters. How frustrating! At least they don't require numbers or symbols. Remembering it is hard enough as it is with so much on my mind. Ah, the crazy observations of an Elftech that has far too much to do, and not nearly enough time.

FINALLY! After all this time... after a week of annoyance, I was able to recover my lab logs that were encrypted by the system. It took a few favors and a long chat with Mrs. Claus in order to get everything sorted out. But it's all in there, and it's in there right. I think I've gotten maybe four hours of sleep a night these past few days as a result.

Oh brother do I have some choice words about security around here.

Things are going very well in R&D. The timetable keeps getting pushed up though. I'm not quite sure if it's wise given all the ... circumstances. I've been over my notes a hundred times and still don't feel easy about it.

I'll try and explain things to them maybe next chance I get. The red light on my desk is on though, so I've got to answer this call down on sublevel F.
