I saw it an I laughed my butt off. MY favorite comment was "Who let the pregnant lady on the helicopter?"

XD

I just watched it today. I really liked it but when I told my friend I hadn't seen the first two movies, he threatened to hurt me. =(

I liked the (SPOILER!) CG Arnold!

From what I've heard, the plot was incredibly flawed. idk, listened to this one video by SpoonyOne (if you're familiar with TGWTG site") about Terminator Salvation, the game and the movie.

I'm not a terminator fan much, so I don't think I'll see it.

http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/bt/spoonyone/reviews

I was going to post the video who was interested to see, but i can't see it. ):
I saw it myself when I was watching one of the swat videos, I think 5, then I clicked "more videos" and it just started playing. So, uh, maybe you'll have good luck too. Swat videos are funny anyway, so yeah.

Oh, the plot was incredibly flawed.
But Terminator is never about plot.
It's about blowing s**t up and making you feel all pumped up and awesome.

I mean, 300's plot sucked.
But you don't see people going "Oh boohoo 300 was a piece of crap I'll never see it!" do you?

No, you see people making a bajillion and one 300 jokes and going
YES OMG 300 WAS THE BEST MOVIE EVEEEER

My post about this matter in another guild:

I love Terminator. But I've never seen Terminator 1. lol.

I have T2 on DVD and I saw T3 and I couldn't wait for Terminator Salvation.

In terms of plot, there basically is none, pretty much.

I only didn't like one part of the movie, and that was this (spoiler kinda) :
When the t800/arnold swarzenagger shows up. His body just looked way to out of proportion and I laughed. He had no business being in the movie (even if he was cg) and it just completely ruined it for me personally. But whatever.

ANYWAYS

I loved the movie because it was ALL ACTION ALL THE TIME!
And the cinematography, at least int he first half of the movie, was brilliant.
I felt like I was in an amusement park ride and I even said to my friend who was sitting next to me "Do they show this in 3d? If they showed this in 3d it would BE A TRIP"
I'd totally pay like $20 to see this movie in 3D. If it's showing in 3D IT IS TOTALLY WORTH IT.

I felt like I was in a virtual amusement park ride for at least the first hour.
I was getting flashbacks of the Terminator ride/movie/thing from Universal Studios (Which is awesome by the way) and is also the reason I was like OMG MUST HAFF 3D PLZ.

In what little plot there was, I didn't like it.
The character development was cliche and blah and I know I have a sort of bias since I haven't seen T1 so I don't really know how the story "started" and all, but one of the main characters just... Doesn't really make sense.
spoiler:A half human/robot dude? C'mon, Skynet would know better then to trust a human. The whole story was completely flawed. Plus, if we was programmed to help Skynet anyways, why were all the Terminators still attacking him hmmm?

Anyway if you like action movies, Terminator is AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING

But if you prefer plot with your explosions that you should probably look elsewhere.

My general opinion on action movies without plots is it's generally better to make montages. However, that wouldn't exactly make it to the big screen, right? So they instead keep whatever stupid plot they have in there as the plot, and then get lots of money from it. I consider myself more of a movie watcher for the art rather than the excitement, much prefering say Citizen Kane to something like The Italian Job. Just kinda how it is for me. :/

I have seen T2, or at least the first half, and it at least had a passable plot, while still fitting in the action. But from what I've heard about TS is that they like, just do so many retarded things, and not just with the plot. "What? Our pistols still don't work on giant metal killing machines?" And then how the killing machines kinda just walk up to you with the jason walk and then throw you. idk, it's all hearsay since I ahven't watched the movie and I don't think I will (or spend my money on it), but gah. :/

that's my rant at least.

But..But.. there was a plot!!

Skynet, this evil robot super computer has taken over the world and built tons and tons of robots to destroy humans. In Terminator Salvation, Judgment Day has already happened and it tells the story of the resistance fighting the robots.

I thought it was kind of a cool plot/story.

Okay I guess the IDEA for the plot was good but it was FILLED with holes.
See my white text in the post above.

HONESTLY, as of CURRENTLY, in the world, for an action movie, the plot SHOULD be "s**t blows up, things go horribly wrong, and then s**t REALLY begins to blow up"

This movie, sometimes, took itself A LOT more seriously than it should have. Me and my friend were CRACKING UP throughout like the ENTIRE final scene... My friend was actually tearing up.

A couple of things that made me completely lose interest in the plot:
1. WHY did these STUPID robots have to create a halfbreed human? They can create normal human emotions in a robot, and do the same thing. IT DIDN'T NEED A HEART! They just added that TERRIBLY obvious weakspot, FOR NO REASON!

2. WHY was John SO concerned with finding his father and keeping him safe? LOOK! As soon as you found out that he was in that Skynet place, if he was going to die, you wouldn't be there anymore! It's not like "OHH I failed, and now the world ends!"... NO, your behind is COUNTING on Kyle making it back in time, so if he was DIES, you wouldn't be there. So he was trying SO hard to do something that was going to happen, NO MATTER WHAT!

I agree on number one, but number two I think is bull.

He was intent on saving his dad because this was a different timeline. Nothing was set in stone. That's why he had to do it.
I mean, regardless or not if his dad was SUPPOSED to live, the fact remains that IF he died, John wouldn't be alive in the future.

I mean, it's the same concept as the Star Trek movie, really.

Eh, it was alright.

I was never a big fan of the Terminator movies, for some reason. It's not that I hate them. Rather, I think they're good. But they don't really make me think they're the best movies ever, if you know what I'm getting at. I don't know why, it just... is.

But, it was good. Just not anything notable. XD

I think the only major complaint I have was when Kyle kept shouting out the names of the machines each time they showed up early on. For some reason, it reminded me of a little kid pretending to be a character in the movie, and shouting out the names each time they "encountered" one. I guess they wanted us to know what machine was which, so we don't be confused with the Arnold!Terminator. But, still. If I was being shot at by robots, I wouldn't go "TX-9000!". I would go "HOLY CRAP I MUST RUN AWAY NOW OH GOD WHAT IS THAT THING?".

I'm sorry. I don't know why that bugged me. Actually, I wasn't annoyed, it was just... narmy? (no better way to describe it) XD

Though, I might need to see the movie again to check to see if my memory is correct on this, since I tend to get little details like this mixed up.

So yeah, except from those silly moments, it was good.

Also, speaking of That Guy With The Glasses... here is what Chester A. Bum has to say about Terminator Salvation.

EXACTLY! If he died, John wouldn't be alive. MEANING that he couldn't have died in that Skynet place, because John KNEW he was there, and John didn't automatically disappear.

I didn't watch Star Trek.

Okay, no.

Each timeline is a different, like, universe.
HAVE YOU SEEN DRAGONBALL Z??
Remember when, in the trunks saga, Trunks comes back and is like "In my timeline goku died and such and such androids blahblah evil"

So he comes back and saves goku and fromt hat point onward, there's no telling what will happen. Because it is a different timeline.

John Conner is in a different timeline. He came back- his mere presence has changed history.
So anything could happen.
His Dad COULD DIE
