I'm a little wary of Glenn Becks version of Libertarianism. If I had to place him on the Worlds Smallest Political Quiz, I would put him on the line dividing Libertarian and Conservative. While he seems to mostly get it, he has some disturbing views about America being the Worlds Police, and our Dollar being the worlds currency. He seems to think that this is the way things ought to be, which is something libertarians don't agree with. Just something to keep in mind.

Oh yeah, I read about this in Glenn Beck's Common Sense. I agree with most of it, but I don't understand why "I believe in God and He is the Center of my life" is part of it. I believe in God, but I don't think it's a requirement to be a good American, and it certainly isn't a requirement to uphold a libertarian philosophy. (Ayn Rand was an atheist, after all.) And the "Center of your life" thing presumably wouldn't apply to deists, which many of the Founding Fathers (including Thomas Paine!) were. Then again, I get the uncanny feeling that I'm missing the point... sweatdrop High_Assassin I'm a little wary of Glenn Becks version of Libertarianism. I'll have to look into that...

I'm going to be there at the protest!!! I'm so excited to go to my first REAL protest. I'm so sick of the bailouts and higher taxes and the attempts to give the federal government more power! Here's to hoping that it makes an impact smile

My parents, sister, and best friend just left for the protest for the weekend. I unfortunately can't go... military stationed in Germany...
But for those who are going, have fun!

I'll have to look into that... I can't stand listening to Glenn Beck babble on and one. I swear he likes to hear himself talk. Anyway, as for "I believe in God and He is the Center of my life"; no one needs to have a belief in god to as you say to be a good American. You can have your beliefs, but you sense of right and wrong is not attached to that. It could reinforce it, but I don't think the sense of right and wrong in our mind is linked to the belief in a god... Obviously, by this post people ought to know were I stand on religion...
