I want to talk about my panthers, and their chances of getting to the super bowl next year. We still got the best running game in the league, talking about Deangelo and J stew. Cant forget the superstar heart Steve Smith heart , and our defense is pretty solid even though stressed Julius Peppers stressed and Ken Lucas have either left or are leaving. We have a solid d line and twisted JOn BEason twisted is a Monster...My only doubts would have to be the play ability of our secondary and crying Jake Delhomme, crying who we all know got demolished by the Cardinals with SIX turnovers!!!! We still went 12-4, but that was the past now I want to know what you guys think about the chances of the panthers and whatever your teams are. So please comment.

I have them as favorites right now to win the NFC South. But I don't think they'll make it far into the playoffs.

Delhomme will have a hard time recovering from last season's postseason meltdown. The Panthers have shown some holes in their defense. Peppers is unhappy with being franchised, and might get traded. They lost Hackett, Seward, and Lucas. Also, they don't have a draft pick next month until #59 overall.

Dude, Panthers are my favorite team too. Born in Winston-Salem NC. But as far as we go this season, I highly doubt we'll even make it to the Playoffs due to our Schedule this season against some VERY talented teams, Defensive and Offensive wise.(Panthers.com for details) And we don't have THE best Run Game, we have ONE of the best. And we are in need of a major Defensive Draft picks due to the fact we lost our amazing CB. Seward wasn't all that great in my opion. I still would want Dan Morgan to be our MLB since he was such a beast. To bad he retired from a concussion..which he got..a lot. And Hackett, ehh, he was okay I guess. But we will seriously need to think of two MAJOR Defensive Draft picks. A CB and DE. Our Offensive is tremendous in my opion, excluding Delhomme to me until he shows some Awareness instead of constantly passing to my favorite player, Steve Smith. We have Muhammad and Jarret, who I might add, looks to me like a young Steve Smith. But we need to start thinking ahead instead of waiting around.

I think the Panthers will have a battle in that division. They have to deal with a Falcons team that looks like they are now on the right path and a Saints team that seems like maybe it may have gotten some of its act together. They are still the favorite to win the South, but they will not get far. The East will most likely be sending the rep to the SB. Arizona got a far far far beyond Cinderalla miracle for last season.

As for my team, it is Philly. There are some evident gaps, but they seemed to be filled nicely. Only time will tell though.

As it seems right now with the pieces all shifted out and settled down for the moment, the Power of the NFC lies in the East followed by the South then the North then the West. You have Philly and NY who are probably favored to go to battle it out for the SB and then you have Dallas and Washington who will cause their usual problems for teams. In the South, you got the Panthers who despite their losses and holes are a solid team still, you got the Falcons who are younger and look to be ready to take it to other teams on a weekly basis, then you got the Saints who like I said seem to have gotten their act together somewhat and then you have the Bucs. In the North you have Minny who seems ready to take the next step, then you got the Packers who also seem to be ready to do that, then the Bears who are rebuilding then you have the bloodied and mutilated Lions. In the West you have the NFC Champion Cards who seems to have most of their team back, then you have the Rams, Seahawk and 49ers. Yeah, not much to say about them at the moment.

All in all, the best to divisions in the NFC are definitely the East and the South, but with NY and Philly geared up and ready especially after their epic battle in the Playoffs, you know they are not stopping for anything this year. Both teams have some holes, but none as many as last year and less than any other team in the NFC.

I think next year will be a very dissapointing season for the Panthers. At the end of this season, despite their impressive run, many players, and assistant coaches were eager to jump ships and leave the franchise. John Fox may be a good coach, but something must be wrong with his system, or with the Panthers organization when you have as many players and personel looking to leave.

I see the Falcons capitalizing on their success of last year to win the south, with the New Orleans Saints, if their offense can stay healthy and if they can improve their D just enough I can see them being a solid wildcard contender. The Panthers I think will come in third, just ahead of a re-building Tampa Bay Buccaneers franchise who's looking to add inexperienced youth to accompany and learn under their veteran roster.

So early prediction for the NFC South, 1st- Falcons, 2nd Saints, 3rd Panthers, 4th Buccaneers

The top two divisions in the NFC are without a doubt the East and the South. Here are my predictions:

East
1 - Giants
2 - Eagles
3 - Redskins
4 - Cowboys

South
1 - Panthers
2 - Falcons
3 - Saints
4 - Buccaneers

heck no!!
there are too many ifs in that statement, we aquired newer coaches and a new defensive scheme, and our offense is still top notch, even if jake is still the quarterback.

Bold decision to say that the Panthers will up the Falcons, but as of right now I'd have to agree, once pre-season rolls around though I'll make my official predictions.

I think the Saints will be one up on the Falcons. They have a much better offense for one. Both have problems on defense, although Atlanta does have a better defense. I dunno. Either way, the Saints and the Falcons will be on top.

And... There are too many problems with the Panthers. I never liked Delhomme as a QB. He's too inconsistent for me. That offense is a running team. Double Smith and put 8 or 9 in the box. The other receivers don't do much on that team. The Moose is getting old. Jarret might do something though, who knows? But really, until that passing game actually goes to someone other than Smith, then I might consider the Panthers.

They're defense has also been demolished. They lost a pretty good cornerback and they have a disgruntled pass rusher. Eh. Whatever. Who knows?

This is the NFL, who knows what will happen? Still, when you're the hunted, it's harder to win. No one picked the Cardinals to win. No one thought they would win. They had no pressure. Easy enough. *shrugs*

I was never sold on the Saints. People always pick them to be successful, just because they have Brees and Bush. They have a bad defense, and proved that they can't win on the road. They should finish no better than third in the NFC South, because the Panthers and Falcons have better defenses and are more complete/dynamic.

...And word on the Panthers is that they're considering giving Delhomme a contract extension.

The Panthers I'm not going to make a prediction but sounds to me like the Panthers won't be a big deal team, like they have been in the past.

I like the Panthers too. But if they lose Julius Peppers, that may impact the defense significantly. also, i think they need to add one more receiver... I think Muhsin Mohammed has lost a step. I think they have a good chance of making it all the way to the NFC championship. twisted
