My father and I were browsing around a pawn shop today and as we were leaving I spotted a lovely treasure in one of the display cases. Hidden behind a rack of umbrellas was this lovely antique pair of binoculars. I pleaded my dad to buy them and we got a lovely deal on it for $30.00. I read the logo on the eyepieces and found out that these were French! Le Jockey Club Paris, to be exact. I later did some research on the internet and found out that these are rather rare, dating back to 1890-1910. Probably used during WW1 judging by the date and the wear of the item. They generally fetch around $80.00 or so, although I found some tattier pairs on eBay for around $10.00. Okay, okay, enough rambling. Picture time!
