Kyshi'ins mane hung limply, wet and sticking to fur as rain drizzled at a steadfast pace. Ducking under a nearby palm, the tree doing little to block the rain, he shook the water from his coat, already icing.

Clear blue eyes roamed the human settlement before him, ears pined slightly as humans, along with various palui, ducked into cabins in attempt to avoid the light shower. It was a far cry from the snow capped mountains Kyshi'in was accusomed to and sand clung uncomfortably between paws and under claws. It was hot. Despite the slight chill of rain his coat felt thick and heavy, the humidity sticking to his fur, and he found himself cursing the fact he had left the biting cold of Mt. Kapu.

Pausing a beat to check for any still wondering humans Kyshi'in eased from beneath the palm, tail dragging and fur crinkling with ice, to slip under a cabin deck. Nose scrunching slightly as he watched the going-ons of the last straggling villagers.

Sasha had known it would rain. She'd seen the trees' leaves dancing and she'd felt the moisture in the air. Even her human had cautioned her that it was going to rain, and that it was a bad idea to go Out, but she had heeded none of the warnings. She had been cooped up for a long time during the worst of the rainy season that passed for winter on Palu Island, and since the day had dawned with some promise, she had insisted that she needed to go Out. Now that she was Out and rain was on the way, she was sincerely regretting her decision.

She had spent the better part of the last half hour wailing at the door to the cabin in a very undignified manner until she remembered that Aurelie-human had gone to town and probably wouldn't be back until late in the evening, and that had been another reason her human had been reluctant to let her go outside. At last she gave up and slunk miserably under the deck to wait it out, hoping she would not encounter anything unpleasant which would force her to cower in the cold. She was well aware that she was not a brave creature, and would be the first to admit that she ran from any and all altercations which showed any sign of becoming physical.

It took a moment for her eyes to adjust to the darkness as she crouched under the deck, but once they had, she saw she was not alone. Instinctively her sodden fur stood on end and she hunkered down, hoping to be invisible. On one paw, she was outraged that some strange creature had decided it was acceptable to take up residence under her house, but mostly she was afraid she would be called upon to defend her turf. She was relieved to smell that her unlooked-for companion was a palui, and not something larger and more dangerous, but she knew from experience that palui could be dangerous, too. Mephistopheles, for instance.

Hoping to forestall any aggressive action, she made a soft noise to indicate that she would not be a threat, adding, I just want to avoid the nasty wet.
