Jeremiah tore through the fort, aware of several things. First, his bat was missing. This was unacceptable. Some people had their favorite pillow, some had hate to keep them warm at night, he had his damn bat. Second of all, his dog was going to go the way of Old Yeller. I take offense to that, Jerry. Albeit, less peacefully, at this rate. The stupid thing was going to suffer. I doubt that. Honestly, what would you do without me? You're far too cross to survive in the City.

I did it before and you had better bet that I could do it again. Where are you? The wolf remained silent for a moment, and Jeremiah stopped moving, his bright eyes glimmering in anger. The wolf gave him a feeling of the direction he needed to head, and, wheeling, he headed that way. He was a ways from the paths, out in the snow, because, of course, he wanted to play.

"Darkfell!" He yelled, no anger in his voice, just curiosity of where the furry problem had gotten off to. There was a low howl that rose around him, circling. Enemy. Scooping up a handful of snow, he piled it into a ball, eyes narrowed. "Here, kitty, kitty," his voice was low, a mumble, a threat.

Suddenly, there the dark form was, golden eyes blazing and an obvious grin resting on his muzzle. His tail wagged slowly and Jeremiah's heart fell. The bat-

Has been delivered. For a moment, there was silence as Darkfell's words sank in. Jeremiah's fingers dug into the ball of ice, eyes becoming mere slits of blue. "You didn't," he whispered. Oh, my Jerry, but I did. The man released a cry of anger, releasing the snowball from his hand, grinning like a madman when it bounced off the stupid creature's skull. The wolf released another howl, haunting and low as he sprang into a gallop, Jeremiah running towards him.

The man leapt at the wolf, who ducked. Jeremiah slid along the fur, fingers grappling at the base of the large creatures neck. As he stretched out, he twisted so that he faced the back of Darkfell's head, one leg sliding to the other side, pulling himself astride the wolf's back in a fluid motion. "Give me," his hand procured another ball of snow as Darkfell fell from the unsuspected weight to his belly, "my bat." His new ball dug into Darkfell's ear as the man leaned on his neck. The wolf writhed, rumbling and yelping in play. VALA, HELP ME! "You had her on standby." I knew you were going to fight dirty, so did I. "Predictable." He hissed, keeping a grip on the fur as he tossed the snowball away. Darkfell stood, shaking himself to rid his fur of the snow.

This was going to be fun. Oh so much fun, that the Private could hardly contain herself as she waited behind a large shrubbery that Feathershroud had dragged into place earlier on. Patting the snow into a tightly packed ball, Vala adjusted the checkered blanket under her so that it wasn't bunched up on the side. Okay. So, remember. When I say Go, you pull back the bush and make sure he can see this massive pile of snowballs. /He's not going to be intimidated by a mere pile of frozen water./ He will be when I start chucking them at him!

Grinning as her Gamma snorted quietly, Vala finished off of her pyramid of snowballs with the one she had just completed. A yell permeated the wild silence in the tree surrounded clearing, signifying the arrival of a particularly cross Rider. Jumping into a crouch as the Rider entered and the Wolf showed himself, Vala waited patiently for Darkfell to call for her help. Silent laughter shook her body as the wolfpair tussled with each other, almost reminding her of her own scuffles with Shroud... only the positions reversed, it was usually herself that ignited the fray and not her wolf.

/He says, VALA HELP ME!/

THEN GOGOGO. Leaping up as Feathershroud removed the brush, the Private began flinging snowballs at Jeremiah, aiming her throws so they'd sail over Darkfell’s back if they didn't hit the Rider. "TAKE THAT JERMY. AND THAT!"

--- Staying out of the way of the flying snow balls, the female watched in amusement as her rider flung the snowballs at the other human, trying her best not to hit Darkfell in the process. /Jermy? That’s a new one./ Yeah! He's like a parasite, hanging onto Darkfell, and I'm a doctor that needs to get him off! /Wow. Just... I have no comment./ Flopping down with a yawn, Feathershroud stretched out behind her Mine, not wanting to participate in the frozen water slinging. ---

It didn't take long after Darkfell stood for him to find out where the crafty little problem had hidden herself. She seemed to have collected a large pile of ammunition, making the man wonder exactly how long they'd been planning this. All he wanted was his bat, and he might have actually yelled at her to give it to him if he hadn't been hit in the side by a snowball. His grip had loosened, and it took Darkfell to bolt for Jeremiah to fall off, exposed.

He rolled as he hit the ground. "Jermy?" He grumbled unhappily, shaking his head to clear the snow off his hair. Scooping up a snowball, he became painfully aware that he was going to lose this in the long run, for he didn't have gloves. He continued to be assailed, pelting back at her with loosely-combined balls, tactically moving as best he could. She hit him several times, once as he faced her in the chest, him falling back flat as a result.

Honestly, losing to her has to be quite damaging, doesn't it? Darkfell's words were met with the wolf kicking a small bit of snow over him, prancing over to Vala merrily. Jeremiah shook himself clear, ducking behind a tree and gathering nearby snow for his own uses. The thin trunk did little except protect his head and back, his shoulders still open.

An acceptable amount acquired, he picked them up in his left arm, his right grabbing and firing back. A wayward ball hit Darkfell, and others could have hit Feathershroud. "You'll never beat me!" He yelled defiantly, aware of chill starting to sink in from being momentarily covered in snow. Damn wolf. "None of you!" All together, maybe. What he wouldn't give for rocks to put in these. Absently, he began to feel when he stepped for the odd lump that might be one.

Darkfell bristled when the snowball hit him, more out of being surprised than anger. His tail lashed in a cat-like manner. Silly, silly Jerry. We should get him good. He glanced over at Feathershroud, to see if she'd been hit, and also if she would be willing to help them if they called for it.
