I saw Amaranth_DMXRemix's topic asking what kind of goggles she should get, so I was inspired to make such a topic too. Though I'm not going to buy my goggles, I'm going to make them. I want your opinion on which of these 3 goggles look best so I can have an idea of what to make my goggles look like. I love all 3 and can't pick between them. So I want some outside opinions. ere they are...

The first set of goggles and the monocle are the coolest. Do you plan to do something BIG or something sleek and refined?

Hmm, I really don't much care for any of them. I'd say, in my own opinion, the first ones. The second ones are my favorite design, but the patterns look bad.
And what are you gonna make your goggles out of? Cause I wanna make a pair, but I want them to be made of brass/copper.

Second pair or the monocle. The problem with alot of 'steampunk' goggles is that they are just gas welding goggles that you can get for like 5 quid, painted a different colour and with lots of pretty things stuck to them. 3nodding You might as well make 'em yourself! xD

I agree with Ezra about the welding goggles thing. Personally I like the 2nd option better, except for the fact that they look too much like their original 'base item' which was obviously a pair of swimming goggles. But I prefer something similar to 2 than the bulky look of the 1st choice. The 3rd choice is only good if you plan on being a mad scientist/tinkerer or something like that.

Why not buy a set of plain old welding googles and adding a bit of Steampunk flair? It shouldn't be so hard, really, and those 3 choices, for the looks of it, are too overpriced.

I would to with 1 or 3, I dislike how unintresting the 2nd pair looks. Also a monocle might be a good idea if you plan on actualy wearing them over your eyes, Its damn hard to see through weilding goggles.

I have welding goggles, and I am going to modify them XD and as I said above, I'm going to make my own goggles, not buy those. Just curious to see wich of those 3 i should use as a base designe

Id have to say either the second pair or the monoggle
the first pair just has way too much crap going on for me but yeah, like many others have said... if you go along the lines of the second, dont make them look as cheap! haha

I REALLY like the first one. The second is nice if you want something you might be able to wear more often. The third is cool and has more of a steampunk feel since it's a monocle, but something tells me it's a bit tougher to make a monocle/eyepatch sort of thing like that so that it will fit right on your head.
I think the first one would be easiest to imitate. Some leather, brass and copper shouldn't be that hard to toss together with a few magnifying-glass lenses, and voila! They'll probably be fragile and complicated working, but you'll probably have to be careful no matter which model you choose to make.
Argh, I'm getting that urge to make stuff again.....
