Some things have been changed, and rankings were added.

Please review them and see if you want to change yours....

People can now take on the positions:

Master, Pet, Pet Pet, Stray, Monster, Fairy, Elf, Dwarf, Gnome, and ???.

Masters can adopt some pets; Pets can adopt pet pets;
Strays are free to roam; Monsters can be pets, or strays,
and even adopt pet pets or other monsters. Fairys, Elves, Dwarfs,
Gnomes can adopt any one or be adopted.

Welcome to the new world of Gaia Profiles!

The new profile system is here! We've got alot of new features that will kick your socks off, but keep in mind this is your first look at a new feature, and we're still trying to work out the kinks.

* Social Networking
With the new profile system it's really easy to browse through people's friends list, see who they are friends with, and learn all about other users (you can hide your friends list if you so choose).

* About Me.
We've added a little About Me section where you can tell other users a bit about yourself. BB-Code enabled, of course!

* Currently Equipped Items
Ever wish you could find out what someone was wearing? Now you can! Every profile now lists only what the user has equipped on their avatar. Click on an item that you're not sure about, and you're greeted with a full description of that item, with the ability to add it to your own wishlist. Non-Equipped items are still hidden...

* Quick access to Guilds, Recent posts, and User's store
Quick access shortcuts to see where other users have posted recently, what guilds they are a member of, and to see what each user is selling in their own store.

* Wishlist
The wish list is your place to highlight items you are interested in. You can also get in depth information on all items in Gaia now. Give it a shot, click on an item that somebody has equipped and try adding it to your Wish List. You can specify if the item status is Wanted, Questing, Donated, or Bought and whether you want other people to see the item in your Wish List.

* Comments
Love them, like them or hate them? Now you can leave a comment for any user and let them know what you think.

* Multimedia (flash only)
Like to play with flash? Have a short clip that you want to show to others? Post the url for it in the multimedia section. Multimedia falls under the same copyright guidelines as signatures. For more information see this thread

Dear Users,

Thanks for all your help testing GAIA Towns and for your patience as we get ready for the official release!

Our estimated time and date for release is Wednesday, October 26th at 4:00pm PST.

In the interests of fairness for all users, all of the previous Town data for house placement has been wiped and we are starting fresh. Don't worry about your bug or trash catches, those are still ok. icon_sweatdrop.gif

There have been a couple of minor changes to the moving in process, so please read the following steps in order to get started again:

1) Go to the Aekea Housing Commission and make sure you've chosen a house style.

2) While you are there, get a Barton Town Permit. This will allow you to place your home in GAIA Towns.

3) Launch GAIA Towns from the Trainstation in Barton Town and go look for a place to set up your home! (For optimal performance, we recommend you upgrade Flash to the latest version)

For more detailed information on GAIA Towns and setting up your home, view the GAIA Towns Instructions.

IMPORTANT

As we expect a large influx of users when GAIA Towns reopens, we have implemented a "reservation" system so that you can guarantee a spot with you and your friends.

Reserve is for all of you out there who want to live in the same neighborhood with your friends, but don't care exactly where. A Reservation is limited to one per user, and lasts 24 hours. This time period can be extended once, for the same fee. During the Reservation period, users who are on your friendslist who have not yet placed their house in Towns will see a Reserved sign for any open plots in the neighborhood that was reserved. Other users will not see anything, and will not be allowed to move into your reserved neighborhood. Once the Reservation period expires, the plots will then open up to any user who wants them, so make sure you coordinate with your friends before you get the Reservation so that they can all pick their plots before it expires. Reserve is limited to you, and any users on your friendslist. Because there are only 6 plots per neighborhood, you can reserve space for up to 5 people from your friendslist.

Relocate is for any user who wants to move their home after it has already been placed in Towns. This can be re-used, but it'll cost you. icon_xd.gif Just click on the Relocate button in the housing commission, and your home will be removed from Towns. Any users who are on the map where your house was at the time of Relocation will see your house there until they leave and come back to that map. Once you have completed the Relocation you are free to place your home elsewhere in Towns.

House plots are first come, first serve. To avoid frustration, please plan ahead with your friends to get a spot together. The reservation system will become active when GAIA Towns launches tomorrow.

Dear Users,

We will be getting Trick or Treating on the site shortly. So, to avoid any confusion, here are the basics on how it works:

1) Visit any NPC(such as Ian in Barton Boutique, Moira in Durem Depot, etc), and you will receive one candy. Visit another NPC and so on until you receive 10 candies.

2) Once you get 10 candies(color does not matter), look for Jack on one of the maps. Talk to him in order to get your prize.

Halloween Items are given out in order and there are 9 items to collect.

As for Trick or Treating in Towns, currently we are experiencing unforeseen technical problems with Towns and will try to get it up tomorrow. Trick or Treating in Towns is merely an alternate way to get the same items, but is a little more interactive because you get to control your avatar while gathering your candy.

So, the end result is the same. 3nodding
