The wise eyes of the once lively cub looked out across the lands, her heart fluttering softly in a relaxed beat. The Pridelands were peaceful, filled with love and happiness that even the darkest times could not destroy. Semine remembered those times, when her mother and sister disappeared, followed by her father. It had been hard, seeing them go, and knowing that they probably wouldn't return. Now, she only hoped they were happy, and together.
There wasn't much she did these days, mostly just spending time with Matlai and watching her successful siblings and family from afar. It was hard being so satisfied with what little she had, but at the end of the day, as she closed her eyes, she realized that there was nothing more she needed. If there was, she knew it would come, and she would be happy like those around her. As for now, she enjoyed the presence of he brother, steady and complete.

He had been looking for anybody, for his lone brother who was left, to any sort of cousin that might be around. He didn't know many of those outside of his family, but he needed to speak to someone he could trust. What else but blood ties, he thought, would bind two strangers and give them trust. Mastema may be a fool, but today his luck just seemed to be with him.
He moved over the hill, having been done with his scout duties for awhile, when he suddenly caught sight of copper and gold. It was the sight of royalty, one that stood out a bit more compared to the softer coated siblings, and a sight that made him fill with joy. At least Semine he recognized, and had spoken too a few times when he was young. Yes, she would be his confidant.
"Semine...hello!" He called out as he approached, hoping she would recognize and welcome him into her presence.

He thoughts were broken with the sound of her name, and she turned to see a large mass of brown hair heading her way. It took a second for her to realize he was calling the name out, and another for her to catch the strange marking on his forehead.
"Ma...Mastema..." She said softly, a smile drifting across her maw. Yes, she had grown out of the childish ways, though the male in front of her had not, "Well, it has been awhile, hasn't it dear cousin. I thought all of your family had moved on to different lands by now."

Mastema let out a weak chuckle at Semine's comment, and decided not to let her know how close it was to the truth. He didn't even know where his family was now, and sometimes that thought alone pained him. He hoped they at least were alright, just as Semine had about her own family.
"It has been a long time...I know this is out of no where...but I was wondering if I may speak to you for a bit, Semine. I've been having strange dreams, and thoughts, and I was hoping to get advice from someone close to me. I know we don't really know each other that well...but I couldn't think of anyone else."

She just nodded as he spoke, her eyes showing nothing but kindness as she waited and tried to figure out the meaning the behind his words. When he finished his statement, she felt a bit touched at the fact he wanted to find her, but unsure if she could really help. So, she decided the best bet would be to try.
"I can try if you would like, Mastema, and hopefully this will be a perfect place. I would offer my den, but it is filled with my sister's cubs right now, and I feel as if this is more of a private manor. I just hope I can help."

He nodded softly, "I hope so too...I don't know who else to speak to..." His sigh was soft and filled with emotion, and he moved to settle across from her, looking down to his paws. It was hard to figure where he could start, so much that he felt a silence taking over. His ears fell back a moment, before he looked up with forest-green eyes.
"I've been having dreams, Semine...dreams of far off places, where my father and mother have been traveling. I have been having dreams of events that have taken place, or will...I don't know that for sure, of course, but I just feel like I'm seeing something special while I sleep..."

Semine listened again, eyes widening at parts as she tried to figure out what he meant.
"Some elders speak of these dreams...of seers that have the blood of gods in them, granting powers that normal lions have not..."
It was a story she remembered hearing long ago, and one she didn't believe. But maybe, just maybe, it would help Mastema out.
"The best option for dreams is to study them...and of course, follow your heart, my cousin."

He would have gone on, had he not been stopped by her words. Follow his heart...that was a strange statement indeed. He thought his heart just led him to be childish, like a cub in a large body. But maybe that wasn't it, maybe the dreams and the unease were from his heart calling to leave.
"I..." He suddenly remembered the white lion's words, the invitation, and a slow smile spread through his maw.
"Yes...yes, I think I will. Now I see why my family left...why everyone moved on. Our heart is somewhere else. Thank you Semine...thank you..."

She smiled softly yet again, her tail curling around her haunches as she watched him putter around excited.
"I hope you find what you are looking for Mastema..." She said softly, before bowing her head, "And it was great speaking with you yet again..."
With that, she moved to stand, before slowly walking away. She needed to find Matlai, he would be interested in the notion of dreams fortelling the future, he always was a dreamer.
