On the taller side, Rayan stands a little over 6' and likes to tower his intimidating form over the smaller boys (or use it to charm the ladies). But he does have quite handsome features, strong square face and sun-kissed brown hair, though his blood red eyes can be creepy at times. And to most everyone's surprise, Rayan is very well-groomed and takes especially good care of his baby soft hair, which he's very careful not to mess up. Some say he's obsessive over his hair, which is... well, true.
Rayan is built strong, but not in a lean or bulky way. He looks a bit more muscular than the average man, though he easily surprises people with his strength and especially his stamina. Despite his height where most think he would be lanky and awkward, he actually has quite smooth and graceful movements that help him in physical battles. Rayan is quite tan because of his time spent outdoors, especially since he likes to wear shorts and shirts, only in military uniform during formal meetings, training sessions, and battles.
Personality:
Rayan is probably one of the most carefree and laidback men around the Fort. He likes to spend his days sitting around and staring at the pretty women that cross his path, which are plenty given his reputation. He likes to think of himself as a ladies' man, which is also true to some extent, and he can't really get his head around the fact that some women simply aren't attracted to him. In fact, he rather likes chasing after the cute ones that won't even give him the time of the day - suffice to say, that's how he ended up with Tehila.
Nevertheless, the first thing you notice about Rayan is that he is the stereotypical man. Flirtatious, crude, narcissistic - he turns his charms on nearly all women within sight, he's always full of inappropriate thought slightly humorous remarks, and he believes himself to be God's gift to the ladies. But as Adrian's apprentice, he had been taught to be highly observant so he always knows how far to push it with certain people and when to stop. And when he does stop, Rayan surprises many with his genuine gentlemanly attitude.
Not one to take anything seriously, Rayan can't really be offended because he simply brushes everything off with a good-humored laugh. He can defend himself should the need arise, but to him, bickering with the opposite gender is just another form of flirting. But disputes with other men don't exist since he finds them meaningless and a waste of his time - so he just ignores anyone of the same gender that tries to argue with him. However, he's always up for chattering, even if you're not, and it's actually pretty hard to get him to shut up once he gets going.
Since the death of Darkheart and Tehila, Rayan has been far more social and flirtatious than usual (which many thought wasn't even possible) and now has a habit of talking to every single woman that walks his way. But he's still a pleasant and friendly man to associate with, and there are few that dislike him (even if they claim otherwise). Although his relationship with his Forged partner EternalRose could be considered borderline love/hate since he always seems to do something to anger the female wolf - usually flirting with other women - and eventually ends up with his being dragged around (reminiscent of the days with Darkheart).
History:
Not much is known of Rayan's past as he rarely talks about it, but it's understood that his father was a Wolfrider and that he is the result of an affair. Growing up in White Shadow, Rayan worked as a server in the Hall from a young age since his mother was a chef of the fort, but he never knew his father as she refused to even mention his name. But when he was old enough, Rayan wanted to enroll into the Academy to pursue a better life filled with pride and honor. This was when his mother finally decided it was time to reveal his parentage, finally telling him that his father was none other than Sergeant Lawrence Delamere of White Shadow.
Entering the Academy with this new knowledge, Rayan decided to use his father's last name for recognition. And this was how he met up with his half-brother Christian, whom he discovered was Sergeant Delamere's legitimate child. But that didn't bother him as he immediately struck up a friendship with Christian, and it was easy to see that the two were related. After awhile, however, Rayan became slightly discouraged by the fact that the two were always compared and never to his benefit - Christian was the older (and better looking, some claimed) legitimate child of the infamous Sergeant, while he was the younger b*****d son who would always be overshadowed by his brother.
Around this time, Rayan also met up with Damien and Anna - beaten up when he crossed the angry path of the former, though the two immediately became friends after that. But he's blocked the memory of how he met Anna, or so Darkheart used to say when Rayan claimed he couldn't remember, and the woman hasn't shared about how they met either. But the three of them made quiet a frightening trio, always wreaking havoc around the Academy in some way. Some even called Rayan Damien's second-hand man.
Rayan bonded with Darkheart at 20 when the black pup tackled him to the ground and proceeded to drag the poor man away in search of food. Rayan was tempted to follow Damien to White Shadow, but he did not want to fall into his brother's shadow again and face the father he never met; so in the end, he was moved to New Eve with Anna (although Damien stopped quite often to bother them). However, he rarely contacted his half-brother at White Shadow, and on the rare occasions he returned to White Shadow to visit his mother, he made sure to avoid seeing Christian (and their father, whom he's only met a few times since).
At New Eve, Rayan became Adrian Black's first and last apprentice before the older man's promotion - after Adrian's influences on Rayan, the superiors were afraid of the monsters that would be created under Adrian's patronage. But Rayan proved his abilities as soon as he began riding, and he quickly rose to top his fellow Privates within a few years. So when Damien was transferred to New Eve and appointed Captain, and Adrian was moved to Drill Sergeant, the rank of Sergeant was given to the 26-year old Rayan who's defeated any challengers since.
And that's when he met her. Rayan had always been quite the womanizer, never staying with the same woman for more than a week. But a few months after his promotion, he met a 21-year old woman by the name of Tehila who had recently joined their ranks. His own wolf, Darkheart, had taken an immediate liking to Tehila's wolf, EternalRose (who returned the affections). Of course, the two humans clashed at first because of their differing personalities. Then after a year, Rayan realized that he had become fond of their conflicting minds and began to pursue her. Despite their wolves' mating, it wasn't until another year later that Tehila finally gave in to his advances and Rayan decided to settle down.
After over a year in an exclusive relationship, Rayan decided he wanted to marry Tehila and proposed to her early that autumn, planning to marry her once the fighting had settled down in the winter. Unfortunately, the appearance of the new centipedes devastated their lives for Tehila's death was one of the casualities in the first battle. Driven to melancholic rage by her death, Rayan's reckless actions in the second battle led them straight into death's jaw, but Darkheart sacrificed his life to protect his human. Since then, Rayan has sobered to the reality of his actions and been mourning the deaths of his two most beloved companions.
In the face of such tragedy, Rayan found comfort with EternalRose, who had lost the same loves as he. The two bonded emotionally, and it was decided by the superiors that they could possibly make a good Forged pair. Since then, Rayan and EternalRose have been learning to understand each other without words (which has led to many bites due to Rayan's stupidity), and training to battle by relying on physical cues and verbal commands. The pair is facing several challenges in this new partnership, but their determination to protect each other has caused them to work even harder to succeed.

Her owner also dyed a white flower pattern on her right leg. The scarf around her neck was once worn and owned by her mate; however, after his death, she wears it in his memory. A red heart was stitched on in the middle by Rayan because apparently ShadowHeart once had a red birth-mark on his chest. If you look closely, her earrings are the wedding bands and engagement ring Rayan had bought for Tehila before her death in preparation for his proposal (which unfortuately never happened).Personality: EternalRose always described as gentle, kind, and compassionate. She shows kindness towards wolves lower ranking than her and deep respect for those ranked higher than her and had always been a more naturally submissive wolf. However, she is very much a 'girl' as her previous rider often described her as. She has been known to have great and dangerous moodswings that even betas are wary of. Several scars on her own mate was caused by her temper. Therefore, despite her outward delicacy, many wolves try to stay pleasent and respectful when approaching her.
For Rose, approaching most humans is another matter altogether. She is not as comfortable with human aside from her bonded, her bonded's lover, and seers. She tends to ignore them for the most part when they speak and never really show any signs of hearing them unless absolutely necessary. She, however, was extremely attached to her bond who knew her every desire without the need for words. As a result, when both her mate and bond died, Rose fell into an extreme state of depression.
