Welcome to the Roleplaying Academy! Here is where, if you're new to roleplaying, you can learn the basics, or, if you've been doing it for a while, improve your roleplaying style. Take a seat in one of the desks in rows facing the chalkboard! Here is where you can learn to roleplay! We can all help each other (because I know I'm not the perfect teacher) to become better roleplayers... The curriculum for this "year" includes: -Basics to Roleplay -Basic grammar/spelling/punctuation errors of the English language -Improving your posts -Whatever else anyone wants Feel free to check here when you're feeling like you need to improve, or when you're having writer's block... or just whenever. You can even just post here to be the class clown. Yes, I'm thinking of two people in particular when I said that...
Hope this helps anyone who has any RPing questions ^_^

Lesson 1: The basics of RoleplayWelcome to your first lesson! *walks in and takes teacher's pointer thing* The first thing you should know about roleplaying is not to do what I just did! xD Here, I'll teach some roleplaying basics that everyone should know... Do not use ** for actions. Like what I just did lol... But this isn't a roleplay... but you can treat it like one if you'd like. Well, I can't think of any clever ways to introduce the rest of the basics, so I'll just boringly list them. No godmodding or powerplaying! Godmodding is when you create your character to make it close to a god. This is a big no-no in the world of roleplay. Powerplaying is when you take control of another person's character. Godmodder Margaret smirked as she smashed her enemy to the ground, grinding the dirt into his face. She indeed had no trouble defeating him whatsoever; it was as though flicking an ant off a cliff. Powerplayer Harold swiped down at Robert. Harold's hands turned into claws as he stabbed Robert in the chest. Blood squirted out in every direction as Harold could feel the beating of Robert's heard upon his fingers. lol that was fun to write xD So yeah, don't follow the example of Godmodder or Powerplayer when you roleplay.... Let's see... What else... TO BE UPDATED!!!

Lesson 2: Basic grammar/spelling/punctuation mistakes
I am no grammar Nazi... they're kinda annoying to be honest... but everyone should know the basics... um... what should I start with...? -The Three "There"s yes, you've all heard it before... especially me "There" is referring to a place. For example: "I walked over there" or "There she sits, eating an apple" (dunno why, I just felt like saying "eating an apple") "Their" is possessive. It is used when "they" are owning something. Like "Their dog was really nice" or "I hoped their gift was a good one" "They're" is a contraction of "They" and "Are." To check if you're using it in the right way, you can always replace "they're" with "they are" to see if it makes sense. For example: "They're always getting on my nerves," or "What they're up to is no good." Let's see... what else can I put here. Ah! -To, two, and too; another common mistake. To is the most common. It is used when... gahh... I dunno how to explain it, but it's the one you always use. "I went to the store," "He gave it to you," "I'm going to the market..." you get the idea... Two is the number. Do I really need to put an example? Too is the one I see errors with. Too implies that there is too much of something. Too has too many Os. Yeah... Examples: "He's way too paranoid," or "Too good to be true!" Ahh! I really need to stop typing "too," I'm confusing myself @.@ Ok, some more things; more words that sound the same but mean different things (I can never remember the name for that >.< )) -Through, threw, and thru Through is when you go through something... like "It felt like I was falling right through the earth," or "I was able to crawl through the doggy door." Threw is the action of throwing something. It is a verb. "I threw the paper on the ground," or "He threw up all over the floor." Thru is only used as an occasional abbreviation for "Drive Through;" you often see "Drive Thru..." To be continued

I don't mean to be... rude, but. It seems that your Godmodder and Powerplaying examples are extremely similar.
Godmodder, a better definition... Some one who's over powered, and nearly or is unbeatable.

They always annoy me the most.

True true; I have always had a hard time differentiating between the two. I know when one is being used, but I wouldn't be able to place it... >.< Ah, good suggestion Science.

Four is, of course, the number between 3 and 5. For means belonging to or meant to be of someones/things possesion. Fore is a little trickier. However, I'm pretty sure that it means a previous warning. But you'll get a better understanding of what I mean from the following.
Person that uses for said: That new bike is for my younger brother.
Person that uses four said: I know someone that is only four but is ranked #73 in the 10 and under rankings.
Person that uses fore said: As we were passing by the golf course, we heard someone shout FORE as a golf ball, followed by a club, flew right in front of our noses.

*raises hand covered in blood* Would it be considered power playing if a player killed off another player's Npc (non playable character) or sub character, very quickly and with on post?

((Sorry I just had to say this. Today we watched this movie thing in Language Arts (we watch it every Monday) and there are several word cells we have to identify along with words. There's but what I want to talk about is the homonyms. All of those words with three different spellings and meanings are Homonyms and the one I said just happened to be the example that they used in the movie. Weird. Oh but as long as I'm posting, I guess I'll answer Herelen.)) Um... I think so but I mean what do I know. Just what I think... I still get points for participating in class, right? Even if my answer is wrong?

Oh wait!(Sorry I'm posting right after I just did but I just thought of this!) What about the usage of apostrophes? I think I might also need a bit of work on that myself.

(AH, HOMONYMS! I knew that word was floating out there somewhere xD) OK! APOSTROPHES! So... you can use apostrophes when you're talking about possessive things. I'm not very good at explaining grammar.... but I can do examples of this. Possessive: Sarah's dog... Bob's cat... and so on for 's If you are speaking in plural possessive, add the apostrophe to the end of the s. For example "The dogs' collars were all purple," or "The Jones' back yard" You also use apostrophe when using contractions ("I'm," "You're" "It's," "They're," "He's") um... that's all I can think of on apostrophes... feel free to add to this =]

'It's' is for shortening 'It is' It may seem possessive, for the 's on the end makes it seem so, as most possessives are. But this is an exception. Use it for "It's only getting harder from now on."
'Its' possessive for a thing expressed as 'It', and saying it own something. i.e "He severed its tow."

Oh, when you want to send a longer post: (Even though its quality over quantity.)
Add details about what they are doing, and add descriptive color. Instead of "A green dress."
"A forest green dress, that- when she moved, held the color of new leaves or shadowy plants."
I only added information about the color, its still green, but the little bit is already more interesting and longer. :3
