In a moment like this, Istas would usually fall into a day dream. That relaxed feeling washed over her form, safety and comfort settled in. But for the first time she was able to stay in reality. There wasn’t anything she had a need of day dreaming. Right now that dream was happening. Istas had a friend a while ago, that she had grown up with, Beatrice. That complete acceptance feeling was there; Beatrice had been her best friend, she had a bit of a troubled pasted and just a little while ago; she left to find herself. Well that’s what istas told herself. She had oddly enough fallen for that best friend of hers, and was rejected and rather harshly. Istas kept her feelings to herself now, with the exception of her male life long friend Amitola.
Not having many friends, but she met a few other horses here and there. But no one that took her interest enough to become a friend. Well that was until now. She felt that it might have been a premature feeling; that this other mare would return the value of a friendship. The only way to know would be to ask her out. She tilted her head looking over at Misti. She was so happy… And that feeling seemed to radiate right off her into the muscles of Istas. “I’m very glad to hear that Misti.” It was a relief that she had at least enjoyed this time together. She moved over toward the shore line of the river, so that her hooves would rest on the ground. In all her social awkwardness right now she felt the most hindered. How would she express her desire to see Misti, and to learn from her. Even if she was just in her presence she was sure that she could learn a lot. More so then she had been from Amitola. He was such a flirt that it was rubbing off on her. But she never knew when such behavior was appropriate.
Her Auburn eyes looked into the water, and she watched how Misti’s feathers fluffed out in the current. It made her smile; the slight ripple in the water caught her bell and it gave a jingle. Her ears swiveled to it, and then she caught sound of Misti’s next statement.
Istas didn’t see it as ungraceful. No, the horse had been too shocked by the words to even realize that. The vision of beauty and intelligence in front of her had actually asked to see her again. Just as Istas was trying to figure out a way to ask it. “I-yo-“ She laughed a bit nervously, a blush creeping along her face. “R-really?” She wasn’t to sure of her next move… She suddenly felt on the spot and nodded for Misti to follow her. She had almost forgotten that she had made plans with Amitola and she would never hear the end of it, if she caused him to wait long. She walked her way out of the water with some resistance from it. She hoped that Misti would follow her out. She felt a bit shy, and realized her voice might not hit a high enough tone for her to hear if she was further away. The idea of Misti being close to her caused her heart to beat a little faster in nervousness.

Apprehensively Misti waited, her heart pounding so hard and fast within her chest that she was sure it had the strength to cause ripples through out the whole of the lake if she was only an inch or two lower. He hair was being to feel heavy as it soaked up the water happily, the bright green tints turning to a heavy darkness as she watched her new friend move away from her. Perhaps it was too soon or too erratic a thought to even consider the possibility of seeing her once more, after all there were very few Soquili in the realm who were like her, be it physically or emotionally. Yet there was something deep within Misti that made her believe whole-heartedly that the gentle, beautiful, elegant creature that graced her eyes was similar in some small way. Only time would allow her to unravel the mysteries of her own heart.
Pausing, her mind racing with images of beautiful butterflies as they escaped her grasp playfully she began to follow, her ears eagerly accepting the half spoken words, she noticed the slightly nervous tone that now sprinkled Istas’s words. Misti knew it was time for her social nature to take hold, she would not allow someone to be so uncomfortable around her. Experience had told her that she was a rather intimating creature at times, the young foals that joined her day care centre often feared her for a moment as their eyes shone in terror at the sight of her unsightly large wings, it seemed that they where unlike any that could be seen in the world, or at least she had not stumbled upon them in her own experiences. Maybe there was something similar lingering behind Istas’s mind now? Suppressing such notions Misti allowed herself to smile, the blush fading into a sweet nothingness as a soft scent filled her nostrils.
Trudging softly towards the shore, and towards Istas, it seemed that the mare before her also had the same problem with the water in her hair; it clung heavily upon the snow-white strands as they faded to an almost dirty grey. Yet it was beautiful to her, she did not care what a person’s outer beauty reflected but instead how the inner beauty shone forth, that said, Istas had both. She was one of the lucky few. Misti did not consider herself among them.
Each slightly laboured step drew her closer as she attempted to reach the shore, her wings feeling heavy and her hair dragging along the current. There was nothing else for it she thought as she forced her wings out of the water and flapped them above her head causing a thousand small sparkles of clear silver splashing upon the waters surface, a thousand tiny ripples began to emanate from each impact point and flow into the quietness of the lake. This was there place, at least for now, not a creature stirred around them, not even a fox. Her wings felt slightly lighter now as they became free of their heavy load, making each step easier towards the shore.
Finally she made it, Istas was walking away, yet in a motion that seemed to indicate she intended to allow Misti to join her for a moment before her departure. Shaking her mane more sparkling droplets of water freed themselves from her body as they fell towards the ground, disturbing the blades of grass that flowed lazily in the quiet wind. Misti’s focus remained upon Istas, something had sparked her interest, and now she needed to discover the source.
Stepping forward her heart began to beat.
Tucking her wings at her side she allowed her mind to wander.
Taking yet another step she closed the gap.
Mind racing, and heart thumping.
Istas seemed beautiful, the sun shining gently upon her illuminating all the beautiful sparkles that spread happily upon her pelt; it was a most beautiful. Istas was close now, so close that as Misti brought her head towards Istas neck it touched softly, her wet muzzle gentle nestled into the warmth as she playfully nipped at Istas’s mane. Perhaps this was not appropriate yet only time would reveal how Istas would react. Misti pulled away for a moment opening her mouth for a moment as if to say something before closing it once more and watching again. Although it was only a moment an eternity seemed to pass, each second becoming a cherished memory that she could contemplate alone in her home. Trying again she spoke, her words more controlled and sweeter than before "I would like to see you again," she paused taking a deep breath before saying, "Do you know of the flower field near here? Well I would like to share the sweet aroma with you" She giggled, a huge smile lighting up her face as she playfully moved forward to nudge Istas before saying one more thing, "A great place for girly chat." Within the back of her mind she came to conclusion that Istas was as beautiful as a rose, that was the truth about taking her there. She wanted to show her something that attempted to equal her beautiful.
