User Image Siti was feeling quite satisfied after a good kill and she rather enjoyed the antelope she had caught for a dinner. Her eyes were a little too big for her stomache and she knew some other predator or scavenger would have a nice meal as well.

She moved away from her kill and was trying to decide whether to settle down for the night or do a bit more wandering while she had a new supply of energy. Siti looked around trying to determine which way to go to find a large tree or at least a good cluster of tree.

She knew there was a watering hole not to far off and just beyond that to the east she believed was a couple nice big trees for her to settle into for the night. Siti thought that would be great. She could wander a bit more and find a good place to rest.

Siti headed off in the direction of the watering hole, enjoying the gentle twinkle of the bright night sky and the wondering sounds of those animals just waking. It was a most beautiful night and Siti was content to just stroll and enjoy it.

Another night and more travel. Barakillian was restless and irritated, bound to nothing but the wind. And even with all that freedom, that ability to move as he willed without traditions or beliefs or family to bog him down didn't seem quite right. He didn't quite fit into this niche.

And it had been some time since he'd last encountered a lion. Cubs and birds were nothing but play things and snacks, unfit for any true conversation. Thus, with a swagger in his step and held held proudly, the lion made his way across the dark grasses, his movement easily mistaken for a shadow as the bright hues at his paws were hidden by the savannah.

He caught wind of a kill, fresh from the scent of it, and made his way towards it... thinking perhaps to steal it from the unsuspecting soul. A gift of welcome, as it were, however unwillingly given it might be. But he'd arrived too late, coming upon a half-eaten kill and wrinkled his nose. He was no scavenger, let the blasted hyenas have this one.

The scent of a female, however, drew his attention and he rumbled quietly. Another rogue like himself? Perhaps... if not, he was spoiling for a decent fight. Silently, he faded back into the night in search of the mysterious female.

Siti could see the watering hole just ahead and she continued to stroll leisurely toward the sweet water. She appeared to be calm and relaxed, but for only a short while she had actually been feeling anything but. She felt as though someone was following or maybe was just a little to close for comfort, but she had looked back twice to find ... nothing.

As far as she could tell nothing was there and so she just continued on toward the watering hole. Once she made it to the waters edge she settle down for a drink. Her ears where still on alert in case her intruder decided to make themself known.

She sat quietly lapping up the water letting it cool her body and enjoying the sweet taste. She momentarily forgot about the intruder and allowed her body to relax once again listening to the pleasant night sounds.

The big male stopped in the grasses and eased forward on his belly, ears perked and alert for any signs that the lioness might know he was there. After several moments, he stood and walked out in the open, ignoring the lioness completely as he took his fill from the watering hole. Keeping his head down as he gazed into the water, he glanced over at Siti, "It would do you well to be more aware." Bright eyes focused on the female, almost angry in their intensity as he finally stepped away from the watering hole and moved to leave.

She was not worth his time. Not if she relaxed so easily. Sneering, he paused briefly beside her.

Siti turned to look at the lion who had just moved to drink at the watering hole. 'So thats who was following me', she thought. His coat was very dark and it made sense to her why she had not seen him before. Even with great eyesight he blended in very well with the night.

She watched as the male glance over to her, then spoke. Siti, however, was not ready for his harsh words. No other feline she'd met had been so cold towards her. She felt rather insulted and was even more so after he made to leave. 'How dare he make such an comment and just leave.'

She watched as he paused beside he a sneer on his face. She didnt know why he was so angry with him but she wasnt to fond of the way the encounter was going.

"I do not see you as a threat. Sneer all you like. My name is Nabila Siti and I am a proper lady. It would do well of you not to address me with such a tone."

Siti was irritated, but she wanted to rectify the situation before moving on to find a place to rest for the night. She really did not think her non-acknowlegdement of his presense was reason to be so rude.

"A lady?" He arched a brow and grinned, bemused, "You hide behind a title? A Lady of what? I've seen no Pride here." Rumbling, he circled around to face her properly, his bearing one of absolute confidence.

(sorry it's so short x.x; )

"I do not hide behind a title and there is no pride here," she explained not so calmly. She did not like his attitude very much, but still she tried to be poliet. If worse came to worse she escape into the tree ahead. She did not have to talk to the male.

"My name is Nabila Siti," she said bowing, "Noble Lady. It is the meaning of my name."

She looked to the at the dark male, her eyes surprisingly bright with curiosity. She had never met another feline who acted the way he did. He seemed so angry.

"Its a pleasure to meet you. May I ask your name?"

Siti hoped that the male would be a little less rude, if she reacted less to the fact that he was so rude. She did not know how much it would take to make her irritated enough to not want to speak to the male. For now she decided to ignore the nagging irritation grating at her nerves.

He quirked a brow, bemused her calm mask was slipping and tossed his head, "A high-aiming name, certainly. Do you live up to that ideal, Lady?" Returning to his walk, he moved a few paces off before turning to glance back at her, "Call me Barakillian. It means Sword of Shadow." He rumbled as he spoke, chest puffed out and pride plane as day upon his face. This one held to his name, believed in it and walked a path he thought reflected it.

"Why do you ask?" One couldn't really say it was a pleasure for the lion to meet the lioness but at least he wasn't attacking her.

"I do, live up to the ideal of a lady. Thank you very much. Do you consider yourself a gentlelion," Siti did not see a need to explain herself to the male, she had been told that she quite the lady and very charming.

"Barakillian is a very nice name, it suits you very well," thinking that the meaning of his name suited his coat and his attitude. "I ask your name because I is a customary thing to do when you meet another you do not know."

She remained calm although she was rather unsure of the male in front of her. She was not sure he was the type of feline she really wanted to get to know, but she was an optism and she did not let up.

"My question to you is why did you follow me, surely not only to offer me insults?"
PostPosted: Sun Sep 14, 2008 2:51 pm

"No." He answered shortly, addressing her first question, "I do not prescribe to a set of values and rules that a gentlelion should follow. I am who I desire to be and that is that. I roam as I choose and fight as I choose."

He lifted his head at her compliment, tail sweeping in great arcs from side to side, "I know that why, I am not a fool. Do you ask because that keeps you to being a lady? Is it folly to forgo the pleasantries?" Bara quirked a brow and tilted his head, enjoying these word games.

For a time he remained silent and then answered, "I caught your scent. I'm bored." A careless shrug and flash of defiance in his eye. And he'd come to fight, but that was something he'd rather do then speak of.

Siti was becoming more irritated by the second, the male was unfriendly and rather curt. She was finding her enthusiam waning and her desire to to chat slipping away from her the more he spoke.

"It is not about being a lady. I think it is polite and I simpy like to know to whom I speak. I am sorry if you do not feel the same."

He next comment, however, did not sit well with Siti for whatever. She was already unsure of his intentions and he irritated her like no other had ever done.

"Bored," she said arching a brow, "I am not some source of entertainment for you. I find you rude and not worth my time. It would do you well to leave me be. I wish not to see you or speak to you."

Siti turned to move once again to the water and resume her drink. For once, she actually did not like another, it was quite a foreign feeling.
PostPosted: Sun Sep 14, 2008 4:11 pm

"Don't be sorry." He quipped, smiling wide enough to show teeth. Bara nodded as she quoted him and allowed the confident smirk upon his features to shine through more fully. "This whole encounter has been entertaining, I'm afraid."

The flippant tone turned into a growl as he lowered himself into a half crouch, eyes narrowed and posture threatening. "It would do me well to leave you be? Such dismissal is a dangerous thing, my lady." Sarcasm and threat pervaded his voice as she turned her back on him.

"Only a fool turns their back on an enemy."
It was her last chance before the male would attack. Such implied threats stirred his temper like no other.

Siti tried to simply ignore Bara but when he mention the word dangerous she looked up and after him declaring himself any enemy, she quickly spun around looking at his threatening posture.

Siti did not at all like be threaten, but she had never had to fight before. She did not like where this was going. She took a step back, but did not try to run for fear she would expose her backside to a serious damage.

Siti lowered her ears and attempted to look threatening failing dismally. She was terrified but she tried he best not to let it show. She did not want to make the situation worse but she also was not going to be insulted.

"I am no fool," she growled, "nor an enemy to you. Leave me be. I am warning you."
PostPosted: Mon Sep 15, 2008 2:40 pm

He rose then, head low, teeth bared, a living shadow with bright eyes, "Warning me of what? I am not afraid. Are you?" Barakillian rumbled, a smirk tugging at his lips as he took one step, two, and then came at her with a mighty roar, claws unsheathed and fangs flashing.

She was still insistent on her game? Too bad. It was time to show the weight behind her words. A seasoned fighter, Barakillian knew how to fight... enjoyed it. He only hoped she proved a worthy opponent.

Siti did not answer Bara question. 'Of course she was scared, terrified in fact. She had never been in a fight before, hunting was the closest she'd ever got to fighting.' Bara looked dangerous to Siti as he approached her roaring, it almost left her quaking and very tempted to run.

However, she held her ground taking a more defensive stance and baring her fangs. She was not about back down, being toyed with was not at all something Siti appreciated and she never considered herself a coward. She was always friendly and wanting to meet and get to know others. At the moment she was wishing she had not let her guard down, thinking maybe Bara would have thought more highly of her.

She was at least agile and also rather strong, as a result of a lifetime of tree climbing. She hoped it would help her now and feeling more confident she answered the much larger male.

"I am no coward, not at all afraid of you," she growled.
