Who here likes the Olympics? What's your favorite event?
I love the Olympics, but I don't know why. My favorite events are all the oddball sports like field hockey and ping pong and equestrian and things like that.

I like...not as jaya, but as the person,...when they go on the little sleds and race around the ice, like race cars.

Jaya, that's a Winter Olympics event. Blossom's talking about the Summer Olympics. I'm not really interested in it. The only event I had any interest in wasn't aired in the United States, as far as I could tell.

I didn't care much until mom said she was reminded of when they held The Olympics in Nazi Germany. The Chinese are trying to make this huge impression to show how impressive and splendid they are, and it's meant to warn of their power before they attempt to take the place in the world promised to them by some obscure totalitarian prophecy. I think that sounds dead-on. Who's up for betting on the date of World War 3? :3

I already looked it up. It was one of the first to take place and none of the U.S. channels had it listed.

I don't mind the Olympics, I don't go out of my way to watch them. If I were to watch them it would be the sports like Beach Volleyball, Gymnastics, Diving (female divisions only). Then for more general watching I'ld go for the White Water Rafting and swimming.

right. professional basketball players are allowed to play on the olympic team, but i don't know why they make exceptions like that for basketball and tennis. the olympics are supposed to be (i thought) for amateur athletes... not professionals.
also, michael phelps is doing great at swimming. he's from the usa and he's trying to break a record for total number of gold medals in one olympic games. i really think he's going to do it.
