It was mid day with nothing in the sky but the large golden orb, the sun. On this very hot and humid day, Faer had taken to the sky seeking refuge from the heat by letting the wind dance over her body and sending her her long mane and tail back behind her. Following behind her was a mass of pink petals, petals from a cherry blossom and much like the one she had tucked behind her ear. Gold bangles wrapped around her front ankles and tail glinted in the sunlight and Faer looked down below. Rows upon rows of flowers and beautiful green trees lay beneath her, and she admired the large patches that seemed to make up a never ending quilt.

A shining lake almost blinded her, as she dipped around a corner and large smile spread across her face. A lake! Oh, it would be a perfect day to go for a swim! Faer slowed her pace and gently swooped down to the lake's surface, gliding it across it with just her forelegs dipped in. The cherry blossoms hovered above the water, keeping up with her easily now in her slowed stat.

Green eyes scanned the surrounding area, unsure of what they were seeing. The large stallion had left home to explore the mountains not too long ago, and he'd done it without telling anybody. He thought for sure that his 'family' didn't care, and that he was just a bother to have around. So ever since Dichali learned he was adopted, and that he was found half-starved in his basket in the mountains, he was searching for his real family. For answers. Now he was just ten minutes or so from the home he'd left to find who had been responsible for bringing him into the world, but that effort was in vain. He didn't really want to go back. After thinking it over, he knew that he'd be scolded, and probably punished for leaving.

But he swept the thought from his mind when he saw the mare slow. "How oddly colored..." With this comment, the stallion looked at his own body, and added, "Then again, who am I to say such a thing?" A chuckle escaped his throat before his green orbs noticed something following her. What on earth was that? Bugs? They certainly didn't fly like bugs. He wasn't exactly in the mood to investigate.

The mare closed her eyes, as small droplets of water sprayed over her body. When she opened her eyes, a glimpse of orange caught in the corner of her eye, and she tipped one wing gracefully into the water while turning around to see if it was anything important.
Faer was slightly surprised when she spotted a stallion flutter watching her from the shore, and began to fly in his direction. As she got closer, the image of the stallion became more clear. He was quite handsome, powder blue body brought out his braided orange mane and tail.

Faer reached the shallow waters and let herself walk from the waters. Cherry blossom petals swirled around her calmly and she moved with grace and alittle bit of caution. He didn't look harmful, but one could never know with soquili around here. Smiling at him, she bowed her head slightly. " Greetings, kind sir."

Dichali wasn't exactly sure what to do when he noticed the mare coming toward him. Surely he couldn't flee. That would make him look as if he were antisocial or perhaps afraid of the mare, and he wasn't either of those. His nerves were calmed slightly when the mare spoke. He was quite thankful that she wasn't there to yell at him or question him about being there like some of the other mares he'd encountered had. Though he was anything but, he answered cheefully, "Hello, Miss. How are you this lovely summer day?"

She watched him with calming blue orbs, and smiled when he spoke. " I am doing very well today, thank you. The heat has been quite something these last few days. What about yourself? I don't recall ever seeing you around these parts before?" The white mare tilted her head slightly, but the smile never left her lips. If he was new here, she was going to make sure he felt welcome.

A soft breeze swept up, taking small bits of her mane into the air and a few petals drifted away from her body and towards him.

The large stallion couldn't help but grin. "I suppose I can't complain. Lovely weather, lovely company, and it feels nice to be close to home again. I grew up just a few miles from here." His grin faded as guilt swept through Dichali's heart, but it continued to curl the corners of his mouth. "How about you? I've never seen you around. Perhaps when I was a foal, but I don't remember much from my childhood."

His eyes wandered from her to the petals, seemingly fascinated. He allowed a blue hoof to paw at the ground as he fluttered his wings slightly, unsure of what to make of the flower parts coming toward him.

Faer smiled and felt her face get slightly warmer at the compliment. She tilted her head slightly when his handsome smile faded at the mention of his birth place, but she chose not to push this. Instead, the mare half turned toward the lake and looked across it. " Across the lake and over a few small hills, theres a small area. During the spring about 5-7 cherry blossoms bloom..that's where I was born. Hmm.." The mare paused to think for a moment, staring out across the lake before turning back to the other, laughing lightly. " I guess its farther then I thought. Maybe that's why we've never seen each other."

The petals continued their slow path towards him, before a light gust of wind forced them forward and plastered themselves on his body. Faer giggled at the one stuck on his nose. " My name's Faer. What's yours?"

He thought, but shook his head. "I don't believe I've ever even heard of a cherry blossom, Miss. Perhaps I've seen one, but never heard the name before. I'm pretty sure I was born in the mountains. That's where I was found, anyway." Dichali smiled cheerfully and nodded. "I suppose that could be a valid reason."

The stallion eyed the petals still, and jumped when they hit him. His eyes became crossed as he tried to look at the one on his nose. Knowing that he probably looked quite silly doing that, Dichali stopped and simply tried to blow it away. "I'm called Dichali. It's very pleasant to meet you, Miss Faer. Though I must ask... What are these things doing following you around?"

Faer giggled more, as she watched him go from looking cross-eyed to innocently trying to remove the petal normally. Her smile faded alittle as he spoke. " Found...?" The mare spoke quietly, blue orbs looking over him. But she quickly shook her head, and answered his questions.

Bowing her head slightly, so he could get a look at the flower tucked behind her eat, Faer explained. " This flower, by my ear, is a cherry blossom. Or a Sakura blossom as its also referred as. I'm not sure why these petals follow me...when I was a foal, I found a large beautiful blossom on a tree. Against my father's wishes of me never to pick them for myself, I just had to. So I did...and next thing I knew I was being followed by a trail of tiny pink petals. They've been with me ever since. " She looked over her shoulder at the slow turning petals. " The other funny part is, it's like they are one with me. They just don't float around and follow me but they can tell others how I'm feeling. It's very...weird." Faer laughed slighly, looking back at the stallion.

As he introduced himself, she smiled happily. " Dichali...what a wonderful name!"

Dichali nodded. "I was adopted. My parents found me in the forest on a mountain, all alone. We never really knew if my real parents had abandoned me, been run off, or simply misplaced me." Chuckling, he added, "It's really not as bad as it sounds, I promise. I had a wonderful childhood."

He listened with interest as the mare spoke of the flowers and the tag-along petals. "Well that's quite odd. Maybe they're enchanted?" Letting out a low chuckle, he blew once more at the seemingly clinging pink petal.

"I wish it meant something wonderful." He grunted at this. "It means 'speaks a lot.' Though I suppose it is fitting..."

Faer listened with a nod, the thought of abandonment making her smile drop for the first time since they met. At her momentary sadness, the petals floating around her dropped to float a slow circle around her feet.

This was short-lived, and her smile was revived, along with the normal rotation of his flowers. " I'm happy that you still lived a happy childhood after all that. Though, still...I'm sorry. I haven't seen my parents for a little of a year, but that's because they've been touring the lands."

Faer shrugged, again watching the petals. " I'm not sure, maybe your right. It is almost like they have a mind of their own...almost like magic." She absorbed everything he said like a sponge, listening to every word he said. Shaking her said with a laugh, " My name means 'magic'. I guess my parents had a hunch. I don't mind your talking, I'm really enjoying your company and our conversation. Much better then awkward silences."

Watching him attempt to continuously remove the petal stuck to his nose, the white mare tilted her head for a moment. She took a slow step forward, stretching out her neck and gently picked the small pink petal from his nose. Catching her eyes on his she quickly stepped back to her orginal pose, and dropped the petal from her mouth. The petal seemed to glow lightly for a moment, before resuming it's usual rotation among the others.

Dichali shook his head. "No need to say sorry. I'm sure it wasn't your fault. At least, I don't think it was." He chuckled at this, and eyed the petals. Why did they go down by her feet like that?

"I guess they must have. And I'm glad that I'm not too annoying for you. Yet, anyway. I tend to ramble without noticing." Nodding, he fluttered his wings a bit.

The stallion smiled as Faer removed the petal from his face, and when it started glowing, he couldn't help but ask why. "Why did it glow like that? It's nothing bad, I hope." Was he being a pest? She did say that the petals could tell her mood, so what was glowing supposed to mean? Was she upset? Perhaps annoyed because he couldn't remove it himself? He tried his best not to worry. It was boring quite boring to himself.

The white and pink mare giggled at his joke and shook her head. " Never would I do such a thing. But what I will do...if you start rambling, I'll let you know. " She spoke sweetly, and laughed at her own joke, hoping he would get it. Nothing worse then offending another. She stretched her own wing out, and stretched her legs a bit.

Blue eyes looked back into the large group of petals, Faer seemed focused and briefly the same single petal lit up again. She smiled, knowing some he didn't. And at this time, she wasn't going to share. " Let's just call it...magic. They do more then just float around. They also tend to give my emotions away."

"Oh, well thank you." He slapped on a goofy grin and waggled his eyebrows a bit. Dichali couldn't help but stare at her wing as she unfolded it, as he'd never seen one that wasn't tucked tightly against the side of the horse it belonged to.

The stallion huffed and pouted teasingly. "Oh, come on," he whined, "You can tell me. Pretty please?" Chuckling, he added, "Though, if you don't want to, you don't really have to tell me what it means."

Faer couldn't help but laugh at the waggling eyebrows on the other soquili. She was happy he was getting comfortable in her presence, as she was feeling right at home in his.

Again, the white mare laughed lightly as he pouted and she shook head softly. Faer wasn't sure if she should tell him or not. The meaning of the glowing petals meant alot, and was truly a wonder. But could she share the secret with Dichali without having the stallion think it was either all in her head or that she was pressing further? Faer sighed softly. One would never know the answers by guessing.

She turned away, but looked back with the same smile and took a few steps forward. The mare opened her wings wide, gently beating them in the air and stretching them out before tucking them back into her body. " May we go for a walk? My legs are starting to cramp" Faer stuck out her tongue playfully and slowly started to walk onto a trail.

As Faer waited on him, more then one petal illuminated, and soon it seemed that the whole batch were flickering on and off to an invisible memory. Closing her eyes, Faer smiled as memories flooded her mind. When she re-opened her eyes, the deep blue eyes seemed to be filled with something much deeper then before. She almost stared at him, in a magical sort of way before turning and taking a few more small steps. " These petals tell tales from way back into my foal hood. Each one gains the ability to glow when it catches a memory. It will then hold onto this memory, almost like a storage bin, for me. I can look back on it at any time, or sometimes they show me the moments when they feel like it. Memories that they capture usually have a certain meaning to them, or will in the future even though sometimes I have no idea what will happen. A few of them hold memories of when I meet others. I find that when they do that, it means that I will be friends with that other for a very long time. It makes me happy, knowing that I will have so many friends." Faer had a calm smile on, but a look of hurt drifted into her eyes. " But not all memories are good...but, you have to take the good with the bad right?" Softly a pink hoof pawed at the ground. She felt dumb for telling him, the whole thing sounded made up or stupid.
