It had been a month since Bwana had been attacked by the monster in the water hole. His leg was completly healed now although he still had a very slight limp and a scar. His limp wasn't so bad that he couldn't hunt though. This was obvious by the zebra carcass he was munching on. His maw was covered in blood, staining his white fur. He couldn't help it though, he was starving, granted he was always starving lately he really wasn't sure why. Sighing he pulled away from the zebra and laid down next to it to take a breather.
In the month since Shani had seen Bwana she had done a lot of investigating. It didn't take her long to find a hare who seemed to know about an old lion who knew about water monsters. She went to seek him out and once she finally found him she had to stay and hunt for him for a week before he'd give her any information. Once she finally got information out of him she found out that the monster in the water hole was actually an animal called a crocodile. Apparently they usually ate grass feeders like she did. She assumed that the crocodile that attacked Bwana must have been starving to go after a lion.
Currently the cheetah was searching the Savannah for the black and white lion she had met a month ago. She wanted to ask him more about the crocodile, whether or not Bwana had seen it, and how he got away. She had been tracking Bwana's scent for a couple days and she had a feeling she was getting closer to finding him.
Bwana rolled onto his side, stretching out and planning on relaxing. His plans were diverted when he heard some leaves crinkle. Bolting up he looked around sniffing the air. Not catching the scent of any lion he knew he opened his maw and let out a loud roar, attempting to scare off whatever it was. When nothing happened Bwana roared again and this time he heard a lot of scampering away in the opposite direction. The black and white lion huffed and nodded his head. "That's right, you get out of here." Satisfied with himself he began to groom his bloody paws and maw when he heard a voice behind him.
Bwana spun around when he heard a voice of someone who apparently knew his name. At first he didn't remember the cheetah but after a second it clicked in his head and he smiled. "Shani," He nodded stretching out his back leg the best he could, it didn't stretch quite as far as the others but it was a lot better than it was when she last saw him. "Got a nice scar so I always remember the stupid monster." He scrunched up his muzzle, he hadn't been back to that water hole since and wasn't planning on it.
Shani watched him stretch his back leg out and nodded, impressed. She would have thought that he would have had more of a disability because of the wound. Stretching her muzzle forwards she took a closer look at the scar, still amazed by it's size. "Must've been a big monster, did you happen to see it at all?" She glanced up at him waiting for a response.
Bwana shook his head as she inspected the scar. "Nope, I was too busy trying to get away and stay alive to see it." He shuddered remembering the struggle it was to drag himself out of the water hole and the monster's jaws.
Shani pulled her head back and looked Bwana in the face. "Too bad, I would have liked to know what the thing looked like." After a moment she tilted her head to the side. "How did you get away from the monster?"
Shani nodded, thinking his words over. She had been hoping to get more information out of him. The more information she received the easier it was for her to track down the actual monster that attacked him. It was starting to look like she wouldn't have a chance at finding it. "Are you sure you don't remember anything else?"
The black and white male watched the cheetah think, wondering what was on her mind exactly. When she finally spoke he blinked. "No, that's everything I remember....Why are you so interested?" He tilted his head curious now.
Shani tried to look nonchalant as she talked. "No reason really, I just like to discover new things. It's a hobby of mine." Lying down she stretched out, resting her head on her paws. She was tired from all her traveling and investigating.
Bwana furrowed his brows at her words. He liked to explore but that didn't mean he wanted to go after the giant monster that attacked him. Shaking his head and mane he sat down before speaking. "So, is that where you ran off to the last time I saw you?" His tail twitched behind him.
The cheetah looked up at the black and white lion with a small smile. "That it was. It's a long story but the short version is that the thing that attacked you is called a crocodile. It's some kind of animal that lives in the water. I would love to find the one that bit you though. By the size of the bite it must have been a huge one."
Shani returned the head bump and then laughed calling after him. "It's called an adventure!!"
