After a short, brisk walk, Gouta had led Keefa to the waterhole. The place was very familiar to him, for his lover had gotten injured by a crocodile. With the thought of that still lingering, Gouta would keep a heavy eye on what might be lurking around. His gold eyes twitched as he noticed a few antelope drinking, but they were already full from eating earlier.
"Here it is, Keefa!" He said excitedly.
Bounding down to the shore he lapped at the water happily. The cool water felt good on his toothless spot in his mouth. Looking back at her, he wondered what she would think of the place. It wasn't the best waterhole in Africa, but it was his favorite.

She had been to this pond before, though had never seen others. He looked somewhat excited at the find, or at least proud that he had led her, so the young lioness did not say a word about it. She strolled over to a dryer bank, leaning down for a drink. The water was cool on her throat, washing away the flavors of blood and death.
After a moment, Keefa began to stroll back to where her new friend remain. Licking her lips, she sat down a short distance away from where he drank. One of the antelope lifted it's head to gaze their way. All she could do is flick an ear.

Gouta watched her as she drank and as she walked back towards him. Her blue eyes were so beautiful. Compared to the gold eyes he was used to staring lustfully at. Keefa's eyes reminded him of water.
"It's funny how life rolls, isn't it?" Gouta smiled at her. "One second you're sitting by yourself, wondering about what's going to happen and the next you find a new friend."
The sandy lion was quite happy to have found someone new to hang out with. But he couldn't help but think about what the Jackal had said. Gouta would have his own children one day. But the jackal hadn't gone into detail about who with. Keefa....Keefa was nice enough.

"That it is," she said as she arched her neck back slightly to look at the stars. In the short time she had known him, he had been better company than some. In the least, he seemed nice and she doubted he would take advantage of her in any strange way. She turned back to him. "It seems life has the habit of taking you to all sorts of places. Meet all sorts of new folks and new friends."

Gouta watched her as she gazed up at the stars. It was just barely dark enough to see them sparkle in the haze of lingering daylight. He nodded his head, listening to her speak. The thought of cubs was still on his mind, so thinking, he might as well bring up the subject.
"What's your views on cubs, Keefa?" He hoped she wouldn't take this the wrong way, he was only asking a question after all.

Her eyes went wide as she lifted her rear from the dry earth and took a step back. One of her back paws fell on loose gravel, causing her to not only loose her balance but to do so off the slope and into some damp, muddy, spot near the water's edge. "What? What-what-what?!?"
Keefa looked around her before getting up. Slowly she walked back to the bank to where he sit. "W-why are you bringing that up?" Her ears laid back slightly as she gave him a one-eyed look of wonder.

Gouta cringed and gritted his teeth as she slipped and landed near the water's edge. Hopefully the crocodile wouldn't make his appearance again, but the lion kept a steady eye on the stagnant waters. The lioness' reaction kinda scared him, he sincerely hoped she didn't think he would take advantage of her.
"Oh, I just. I had a run in with a seer a few days ago. And...and he told me I would have cubs one day." He looked at her with bright eyes. "It's bothering me a bit. Knowing the future and all."
Gouta continued to watch her curiously, the way she had reacted didn't seem too promising.

"Oh," she said, "Oh-oh-oh-oh-OH." She walked to him, poking him sharply in the chest with her right paw. "You listen here mister. What makes you think I'm ready to just up and run away to a land of motherhood and family settling? Hmmmm....?" Her eyes narrowed at him, almost playfuly. However, she meant business. There was no way she was ready to get her self all tied up in feedings and bathings and...
...a shudder ran down the lioness's soul.

Gouta's golden eyes widened. "Oh no! Nonono! That's not what I meant. I mean, you're pretty and all but-" Emotions rung strong in the lion's head and he fell forward and his mouth touched hers. Well, in a not-really-romantic way. The lion's heart thumped, hoping she wouldn't react harshly to his stumble.
"I...I've only known you for a day. But. You're so beautiful." Gouta stated nervously, but with a smile. Inside the sandy lion felt awkward about this whole entire situation, after all, until this very second he had been totally hooked on Bwana.

"Oh," she said calming down a bit. Flattery always had that effect on her. "Well... erm.. your beautiful too." She said, realizing how stupid it sounded just a moment too late.

Thinking it a bit odd for the lioness to comment on his beauty back, he shrugged, but continued to smile. His eyes, unable to fall from hers. They were so blue, and reminded him of where he dreamed to visit. The ocean.
"Uhh. Thanks." The sandy lion stated as he continually made eye contact. "If I have to say so myself, I think that you would have gorgeous cubs. You shouldn't be so against having them."
Still, the male hoped he wasn't making her uncomfortable. Because truthfully, he did love cubs. And the thought of him having them made him excited.

"Oh," she said thoughtfully, "It's not that I don't ever want them. I'm just not sure if I"m ready."
Her voice carried a slightly nervous undertone. It was true though. she had no idea if she was, or ever would be, ready for such a thing. Certainly not now. Heck, she wasn't even sure how went about making them in the first place. Her young mind had no idea where her budding hormones were trying to take her this moment.

"I'm not really sure either. But my heart tells me that I am." Gouta stated, continually looking at Keefa's eyes. She had to be the one. But what would Bwana say if he came back with a girl? He wouldn't like it...no. He wouldn't.
"I know it sounds cheesy, but. I think it's my time." Gouta's motherly instincts were going crazy at this point. Though, he didn't want to scare Keefa. That was his biggest concern. Shifting his forepaws, he glanced suddenly at the ground below him, thinking.

"W-what are you saying... ?" She paused... "Never mind. It's just not time, really." Her hormones continued to rise. Her senses began to tingle. Without understanding fully what she was doing, she leaned into the male and purred.

Flicking his ears back, Gouta wasn't really sure what to do with Keefa purring against him. He had never experienced this before with a female. But figuring he should act, just as he would with Bwana. He too purred and pressed his head against her's.
Assuming this would be the time not to talk, he stayed quiet, just so they could hear each other's purrs. It was so nice, but maybe not as nice as when he and Bwana did this. Bwana. Damn. He couldn't get the handsome male out of his head. Smiling down at her, he felt it was her time whether she would admit to it or not.
"Keefa..."
