Boiling Arena

User Image

User Image

Description: A pathway extends from each entrance way, allowing each fighter to walk to the center platform, walking over the firey coals below. Once you reach the center platform, the pathways extend back toward the doors, starting the match.

Due to the heat this arena gives off, the stands are given a heat-resilient transparent pane to look through for the audience, thus disallowing entry into the stands. But the ceiling is open to allow the heat to vent out. The ground is now scattered with hot coal being heated by a system underneath, making the temperature in the fighting ring at least 120 degrees Fahrenheit. The only best place to fight on would be the 50 yards diameter stone platform in the center of the ring, standing 6 ft from the ground. Though it isn't giving off heat that would burn your feet, the sheer warmth coming from it should be enough to show that even this platform is having a hard time resisting the heat around it. To help fight against the temperatures, each fighter is only given one 20 oz. bottle of water for them to use.

Ten Count Boundary: The only ten count boundary is going above thirty feet into the air. Thus, the entire fighting area is open, with the stands being restricted off by the pane of glass protecting the audience.

From freezing water to boiling rocks. What would the creator's of this tournament think of to piss the Ogre-kin off next? He'd won his last match by default, for simply standing within the ring of the last arena, his opponent not showing his face. Korag grinned and laughed when he'd been told to leave the arena; his opponent was smart for not getting in the ring with the new ogre. Then again, the opponent for this week, whoever it might be, was unknown. All the paper had said, and the bracket that he'd had someone read off to him, was three question marks, basically meaning that the massive beast was fighting an unknown warrior.

Upon arrival, Korag's eyes were alerted to the burning coal which littered the ground outside of the stone platform. That could be a problem, yet, his thick skin would once more prove to help him against the extreme temperatures. The only thing Korag would have to worry about in this match was if he managed to be outmatched in wits by his opponent, yet, he didn't think it'd matter. Korag had just as good a chance as anyone out there, still bearing the burn wounds in which Omi had inflicted.

Needless to say, the massive ogre which stood on the middle platform who stood taller than 11 feet tall, and weighed in at more than 1000 pounds, was ready. Korag let out a monstrous roar, lifted his steel club into the air, and waited for his next opponent.

His opponent would be no other than a blast from the past, a large muscled man standing 6' 3", and weighing 245 lbs. His hair was nicely combed for someone of his size, along with a curvy mustache, making him look like a boxer turned gentlemen, when technically it was the other way around. He was currently in black loose pants with a striping of yellow down each side, and wore leather shoes on his feet. However, there was no shirt on his body, revealing that tanned bodily muscle of his chest and abs. On both hands, he wore green boxing gloves, with the world "Kaiser" on each wristband of the accessories.

"Long time, no see, old friend. I thought you had got consumed in the dangers of that Layered event months ago. But it pleased me to know that you survived such a danger. But with that behind us, I believe it is time to see which one of who would have won in a fight between the two of us. Once allies, but now foes in the ring. May the best man win."

With his water bottle picked up, Lord Crumorn squeezes the entire container into his mouth before throwing the plastic bottle into the burning coals outside the ring. He would raise his dukes, and start to bounce on the toes of his shoes as the match goes underway.

Grudge Match Begin!
PostPosted: Wed Jun 25, 2008 1:44 am

Korag's opponents had never taken the offensive, not even in the match against Omi Barsait. It took Korag literally flipping the entire arena before his opponent reacted violently. So, Korag figured that he should do the same once more, that he should be the one to start off against the old ally of his. He listened to Crumorn's speech, or what seemed like a speech after the eagerness to get underway had already began eating at Korag's mind, and after he finished, the beast grunted, nodded, and moved forward. He lowered his massive club as he moved forward, looking at his opponent with a certain steel-look to his eyes.

"Let's start it, then.."
All eyes were on Korag as he moved slowly toward's Crumorn, refusing to hunch over, standing to his full height. He looked down at his opponent, and with an unexpected move, he lowered the club to the ground, dropped it to where the shaft was barely within his hand, and then quickly flicked his wrist. The club flew forward from where Korag was and shot at Crumorn. However, as fast as the club flew, Korag was right behind it, running with all the speed in his short, but powerful legs.

Crumorn was never going to underestimate Korag's brutal size. With weight and height behind his strength, Korag was a foe to be reckoned with, a beast unlike any others he has fought. But, he had a way to fight the being. He had hunted large beasts for games in many jungles and savannas, so fighting a large orge shouldn't be too hard. It just required some innovative strategies if he wanted to keep himself from becoming a pancake to this thing's punches and kicks. Even as he walked up to Crumorn, his height over the boxer's, the man still did not seem to flinch nor show any worry. He just kept on his toes, before the first movements from his foe already had him going into action.

The club dropped, but before it could be swung forward, Crumorn bursts forward at Korag, both fists up and under the chin. And with a single leap off his feet, he sails through the air, sending a right punch aiming for Korag's face. Behind it came the strength and power of a well choreographed boxer's punch. The moment it would hit, if it did, the impact would bring forth thousands of kilograms of force, something only the top-top legendary human fighters in the world could achieve who devoted their entire lives to a fit body and perfecting their techniques.

Korag was alerted to Crumorn's movement, and honestly, it surprised him. He'd been in the movement of going forward, so stopping abruptly, especially for something Korag's size was almost impossible. It was going to take much more to stop Crumorn than Korag had imagined, especially based on how he made his first move. Anger arose in Korag's mind, causing him to let out a roar even as he made a move to counter Crumorn's own leap of faith.

His massive left arm, the one that had been holding the club, and then the one that had discharged it, apparently not quick enough, would move up towards Crumorn quickly, but it would stop. The true counter came from Korag's right, moving as his left did, but it followed through on it's movement. The boxer was aiming to punch Korag in the face, and Korag was aiming to use his massive hands and beastly strength to throw the boxer away from him like a simple ragdoll. The attack from the right would come from below and outside, basically a menacing slap that would smack Crumorn right in the ribs. However, that did not come without penalty to Korag.

The attack from Korag was thrown to allow Crumorn to hit him, but the boxer's punch would not do as much as he'd hoped. The shot to the face broke the ogre's jaw, but before true pain showed, his anger arose, and it was simple rage that replaced his pain. Now, all Korag had to do was this: He looked to be dazed a bit, and with the fact that Korag's left hand had stopped right after the punch had landed, hopefully Crumorn would be oblivious to the fact that the massive right hand was coming from the side.

Crumorn would feel Korag's face giving in to the shocking blow from his straight hook, but would also be caught off guard by the incoming right swing of the orge's arm. As much as he wanted to get away from it, he knew that in the air, he was hopeless.

"Oof!"
Struck hard into the stomach, he is sent flying through the air, and skidding along the stone platform, sliding to a stop close to the edge with his head feeling the burning heat coming from the coals outside below. Looking back at it for a second, he brings himself back to his feet with his hands, rubs his stomach with his right hand, more in a gesture of relieving the stress from it, then placing his dukes up again, back into stance. The shattering blow was hurting, but Crumorn's large endurance would keep him from falling just yet.

Hitting both of the gloves together, he runs at Korag again, relentless in his aggression. He knew the power that Korag's attacks held now, and so he was safe to say that he can decrease his concern about falling to a one-hit KO from such attacks. As long as he keep on the move and keep up his offense, Korag was going to find it difficult to take this man down.

As hard as Crumorn was going to be to knock down, Korag was going to be worse. The ogre lived his life as a beast of burden, surviving attacks from things such as dragons, other ogres, and man. Surviving through much worse than shattered jaws and things of the like. True, he'd feel the jaw once his rage wore off, it would only hurt, agitate him more than anything. The one thing that Korag was sure of, however, was that Crumorn had to stay down; the attack that Korag had just hit Crumorn head on with should have done it on it's own, yet, the boxer was rushing once more, intent on making Korag stay down.

Now, as far as Crumorn's senseless rush was concerned, he'd once more fallen into a plan launched by the ogre. Korag's arms were long, almost as long as he was tall, brushing the ground when he was hunched over. Now, since he was standing to his full height of 11'3", they were still long, but they didn't look as long when he was standing that high. This was where he was going to spring his next devastating blow.

Counting on Crumorn's momentum to carry him forward, Korag leapt straight into the air, but not on an angle. He was not intent on moving forward, the plan would not work if he did so. However, what he did instead was lift both monstrous arms over his head, lock the fingers, and then hunch his body. His body was bent at the waist, his massive arms covering his head as he neared the ground, and as Crumorn rushed forward to meet him. With as best of a roar that the ogre could manage with a broken jaw, his arms would smash down towards the ground; towards Crumorn, and aim to smash the man straight into the ground.

Crumorn would probably consider jumping over the fists and right at Korag's head. However, the way that Korag had bent himself down, the ogre's head was covered in entirety by the massive muscled arms that were pushed mostly together. The ogre's front was almost completely fortified. The man would have to think quick.

Crumorn could see what was happening from a mile away, despite it occurring in feet, instead. It was clear once he took a grasp of both of his hands together in the air, Korag going for the common hammer fist. Crumorn would come to a skidding stop on the stone surface before taking a quick hop back, just enough to avoid the ground-pounding attack that occurs directly in front of him. Landing onto his toes as the fists smash into the platform, probably cracking it some, Crumorn takes another sprint, this time heading to Korag's left around the fists he had planted in front of him to attempt to get on his unguarded side. But he had no doubt that the orge would retaliate with his arms positioned where they were, so his arms were held more to his left than directly in front of his face as usual.

From where Korag's head was, positioned underneath his massive arms inorder to hide it from the brunt of damage, he could clearly see Crumorn's feet, sprinting to his left. It was funny what moving your hips could do. Like anyone who played football, not that Korag did, though he knew what they taught, it was essential that hips moved to give you the maximum leverage against your opponent, and in order to get infront of your opponent. Especially if they were on defense, and you were on offense. Otherwise, they were likely a lot faster than you were. Anyway, what Korag did first, as soon as he seen Crumorn turn, was unlace his fingers, moved his hands apart, and before doing anything else, lifted his left hand into the air.

Now, in a quick and controlled movement, Korag's hips twisted hard to the left, his feet quickly left the ground in a short hop, and his arms moved in for the initial move against Crumorn. Basically, in a split second, Korag had positioned himself infront of Crumorn again, this time ready for a more devestating attack. Korag's right arm had stayed down, while his left hand had gone up in the air. Now, Korag would swing his right arm towards Crumorn in a menacing, quick manner. What Crumorn wouldn't notice, Korag hoped, was the arm coming down from the air, and towards his other side.

Korag was aiming to clap his hands around Crumorn, likely shattering bones on impact, and if it worked, he would find a way to crush the life out of him.

The quick reaction of Korag would have the boxer slow himself before he changes direction in his run, moving to the left in a quick shift. By then, that right arm of Korag's would be sweeping for him, Crumorn placing both hands to grasp onto the top of it for a moment before hurling himself over them and onto the other side, avoiding the right hand while also not giving Korag a chance to slap him with his left. If he wanted to come after the large man, he would have to do a little turn first to reposition his facing. But with the quick feet of the boxer, he would be at close range on the right side of Korag by the time he would try to give a reaction to having that sweep avoided.

Taking his left fist, he punches it at the right abdomen of the orge, going for what would be considered a kidney shot against a human. He didn't know where the kidney was on the beast itself, but hopefully, he had chosen the predicted area right as he performed the attack. Once again, he was afraid he wasn't going to be able to get this close without any punishment, but this was the consequences of size differences.
