Some of these places may shock you. Some of these places will have signs and landmarks you can easily point out. Others will be hard. Some answers will even be fictional. I created this quiz to see how many of my fellow Washingtonians can get them all right.

sweatdrop only got the last three...ehehe....

Heh. :p It's a start!

There are a lot of misconceptions about the world. I had a friend print out pictures of Tehran and other places in Iran, then he showed them to people. No one could guess it was Iran. No one.

The same thing with pre-invasion Baghdad. Many people don't know Iraq had one of the most advanced university hospitals in the mideast prior to 2003. Many now-American doctors and surgeons came from there.

The way the media portrays places is just wrong. They make you think Myanmar is all grass huts and jungle, and some of it is (just like some of America is back country hick roads and rednecks), but they also have busy cities and great architecture.

I put a lot of emphasis on travel and learning about other places, hoping to 1) stop misconceptions and assumptions, and 2) go there one day. razz Now I'm rambling...

Honestly, you're talking to the wrong person when it comes to being affected by media misconceptions...I rarely pay attention/look because every time I turn on the news I hear so much bad stuff going on that I start shutting down to people HAVING good in them at all. Which leads to a withdrawl from people in general and diving even deeper into my highly unhealthy escapism.

OF course though I want to visit at least Germany, Italy, Poland, Ireland, Scotland (Maybe even england) and Japan (Not planning to be in tokyo beyond the time it takes to land and GTFO)

<_< and not during 'hot seasons' Since I want to be able to travel w/o overheating/getting sick.

Cube Rat NO.203430534 needs to get back to work though
