Fiachra leaned in against the dark bark of the tree, taking in a deep, shaking breath. Morning was already breaking and he felt the drowsiness tugging at his heart, yet there was something he felt like he needed to do. The Minders had somehow overlooked him or couldn't find him, but in the wee hours of the morning most of them really didn't care anymore. With lethargic aura that surrounded the trees, he found it almost impossible to stay up, but there was such a heartbreaking sadness found in the apricot sky that he almost wished he had the capability to stay there until the sun was high in the cobalt.

In all honesty, this new light seemed alien and so much fiercer to the eye, it burned and nipped at his sight unlike the soft, pastel moon he was so used to see hanging precariously at wingtip. All around him, the spring buds flourished, and some plants he had never imagined could be seen in better color out here. Still, his aurulent eyes stark against the verdant landscape, running over the scenery with a melancholic feel, there was still something missing.

His parents.

And though he had searched for so long without rest, all it had done was reaffirm the thought that they were dead.

Cold dead, long dead, bodies in a forest and bones, bones, bones somewhere.

Reaching over to preen a feather, bitterness ran over his form, his sillhouette looking broken and so, so fragile.

He was only a child, after all.

The great tranquil moon was lowering itself on the horizon as the proud brilliant sun climbed it's way up into the sky on the opposite side of the Earth. When the day met the night, it was like pure magic. The breathe taking dawn was always a beautiful moment. A point in time where everything seems so peaceful and lovely, delicate and refreshing. At least Clandestine saw it as such.

Tine's eyes scanned the region of the trees that was eye level to her feathered body. Everything seemed in order. No commotion that appeared dangerous or even the least bit troublesome. After all, what would be happening at this time of day? Reaching out her wings, she parted her beak wide. It being her first stretch in a long while made it all the more relieving. Upon folding her wings neatly back into place, she began to realize how lonely she was becoming. Peering threw the trees a second time, she searched for something other then danger or trouble but for maybe another to talk to. Somebody who seemed equally lonesome would be ideal. To Clandestine's luck, she happened to lay eyes on a silhouette that wasn't to far off. The sun was blinding her from getting great detail on the other but she knew that it definitely was a younger Sentinel.

Taking flight, Clandestine made sure to swiftly glide with safety to a nearby branch. One that wasn't so far from the stranger, but also one that wasn't to close.
"Morning, young one. How is your day starting off?" Introduction would come later. She tried to sound chipper and polite, which shouldn't have been that hard for a Sentinel who was naturally optimistic, but something about the stance of this little one seemed to make her concerned.

The sunrise was such a huge turning point in the day for him, yet he almost never got the chance to watch it. Minders and other meddlesome adults alike would coax him into the nests and force him to sleep, though his thoughts ever drifted towards that sky...

Just like they drifted to his parents.

Wincing, he adjusted his position on the branch, shuffling around so another patch of feathers was pressed tightly to the bark and spreading out his wings experimentally, catching the ruffling in his primaries that ensued afterward. From behind him, the flapping of wings came, startling him almost to the point of falling off his perch. Snapping his head behind him, his eyes were met with the figure of a beautiful adult female a few branches away.

He frowned at her question, sighing and turning his head back to the array of colours in the sky, not being able to trust her. His reply came almost inaudible and in a mumble.

"Fine, thanks."

It was a lie, but from the way he carried himself, droopy and tired and broken, he was sure she could tell.

Clandestine was not pleased at all with the response she had received. "Oh? If one is so fine then how come you are perching so gloomily, huh?" She never allowed her happy tone to fade from her tone. She always thought if happiness as some kind of contagiousness. If she kept being herself surely this little fledgling would open up, right? Hopefully, that would be the case. She would never know unless she tried, though.

Leaping forward and flapping her large wings a few times she ended up a branch or two closer then before. She didn't want to startle the little fledgling but it seemed to Tine that he was pretty relaxed, just not all that generous with words. He soon would be if Clandestine played her cards right, though.

Turning his eyes to the nostalgic blend in the sky, Fiachra imagined it to be reminiscent of a battlefield, the red for the blood, the pink for the lost love, the orange for the tint of hope that all soldiers carried with their talons to war. He ruffled his feathers, frustrated at the newest development in his abrupt thoughts. How had he known that? What did his life have to do with a battle, anyway?

The female's voice pierced his thoughts, and flaxen eyes tore themselves away from the show of radiant lights to focus on the dark sillhouette that was her frame, trying to cough up an excuse to his silence. Unable to come up with something in time, he simply turned back to his sight-seeing, feeling a bit of guilt tug at his heart but ignoring it for the sake of his self-preservation.

At the song of her flapping wings he knew she truly wanted to know- who knew, perhaps she was an honest, good lady, after all. He'd never understand, not with adults. Sighing, he turned back reluctantly at her, pain lacing his eyes,

"I-it's all in the past now, anyway..."
