Location Information:

It's 9 am, the sun has already burned away the morning fog and clouds, beating down with its warm wrath upon Gaia. Warm enough to make heavy clothing uncomfortable and sweat a real possiblity. Summer was already starting in.

A crowd of people were gathered outside on a workside. There was no plants, no vegetation within the 1 square mile compound that was being worked on. Everything was dirt and mud, mauled with tracked vehicle ruts, pitted with a surveyor's stakes. But none of that drew the attention of the crowd.

They were gathered before a gash in the earth. A 10 foot wide hole, dropping nearly 20 feet into the earth. A crude, simple wooden ladder had been left on the edge, opposite of the forboding structure at the bottom of the hole. There, a while marble building peeked out from behind the dirt. A large hole, blasted in the white marble wall. It looked as though the section had suffered a cave in, or perhaps someone had taken a pickaxe to it. Leaving a hole barely large enough for an adult to squeeze through, should he be careful.

Staring inside the 'entrance', you could see the from the bottom of the hole, it'd be a 3 foot drop to the floor, the ceiling being a full 4 feet above the top of the hole. The air inside was cool, despite the sun, a good 40 degrees below the tempurature outside.

The crowd of people were milling about. Half were looking at the buried building, a look of unease on them. Each one seeming to expect some boogieman to leap out at any momrent. Half of them were looking around, for these "Adventurers" their boss had told them was coming today.

All of them seemed as though they would much rather be anywhere else but here.

"Looks kinda scrawny..."

"And stupid..."

"Man he has a weird face."

"And what's with the hair, he some hippie?"

"How quickly you think he gonna die?"

"... 10 bucks on one hour."

"I'll take that."

"15 on 40 minutes."


Such were the snatches of comments from the gathered workers as they turned to watch Shikamaru's arrival. These were not glamourous ninja or adventurers, martial artists or heroes. They were kinda pudgy, beards were fairly common. They were dressed simply, lots of flannel and white tee shirts, heavy work boots, blue jeans.

The cat calls, wolf whistles, and slimey pick up lines and less than clever innuendos started up as soon as Sutsuki appeared in sight of the pack of workers. Most of their talk about Shikamaru were forgotten as t hey exchanged among themselves quite lewd comments along very obvious lines about the new arrival.

Really, what did they expect? It was a bunch of low class, cheap manual construction laborers. Not exactly the highest of the social strata.

"Talking about me?" Came a voice from behind the fellow Konahagakure Shinobi. If one were to turn, or simply know the voice....or look to Shikamaru's right, they would see it was Enasun Enkou. He let out a soft sigh at the workers comments towards Sutsuki, rubbing his forehead for a few moments, before glancing over at Shikamaru.

"I apologize...I was....distracted.." What he really didn't want to say was that he get separated from the group, and got lost for a little while. But they didn't need to know that, no....
