No important character can go without his trusty sidekick yelling at him about staying safe because a serial killer is after the alchemists while ranting and raving about his three year old daughter at home!! To Maes Hughes, the best supporting character in Full Metal Alchemist, my second favorite character!!

You know it... Maes is and will always be my favorite character. I tell you this now just as I tell other people who are convinced they can change me from my ways that I will always be a fan of FMA above all else. I've seen all the rest, and aside from Cowboy Bebop, not a one of them has even come close in my heart to FMA! Not to say that there aren't some damn good ones out there... all credit to Hellsing, Slayers, and all those other great animes out there, but my heart will stay with FMA and Maes Hughes, the coolest member of the military there is! And again, all credit to Roy Mustang. I mean, just look at my sig and you can tell I'm no Mustang hater.

Maes was such an awesome character! I just fell in love with the way he was always on Roy about getting a wife XP

The annoying thing is, I really did. When he was sitting down reading that book before he sent the girl with the books off, I was looking at him and thinking. "I love that guy. Watch him get killed." And you know, he DID. That episode too. I was just sanding there going "HEY! I DIDN'T MEAN IT! WAIT! NO! HUGHS!" So sad...
