That a good number of the people out there do NOT have an adequate understanding of physics, of the laws that which govern our lives in every detail.
Now, the average person doesn't need to know the nuances of turbulent fluid flow, or astrophysics... but a good knowledge of the basics is indeed, at least, a very helpful thing to help avoid making mistakes (kinda like algebra) (mistakes like misunderstanding how your car will react when you brake suddenly...) (experience helps with those mistakes, but a little bit of knowledge goes a long way) (love all these parenthesises?)
That being said, lets stretch our minds for a little bit, and see just how much we know...
http://intuitor.com/physics_test/PhysicsSavvy.htmlWhat'cha get? And, you'll see just what kind of notions you have that are wrong... or you can give yourself a pat on the back for your knowledge. And, maybe even learn something! ^__^ (learn, on spring break? Is are we crazy?!)
I got an A... ^_^ And a in-your-face realization of the limits of thermal energy... x_o
Oh, and the site itself
http://intuitor.com/moviephysics/ is a great read for some of your movies! n_n
Love how they bash on "The Core" LOL.
