Every now and then I get a huge inspiration...where it comes from is the question.... heres the outcome...
What am I here for?
What is my goal to
accomplish...
The questions never cease,
never fail to reach...
my mind,
my inner soul.
Always thinking,
never acting.
Why can't I
understand...
my purpose?
My fears alive,
what am I afraid of,
will it torment me worse
than the thinking?
The urges go away
as quickly
as they come.
Is it over?
Am I finally
out of this cage?
The truth will set me free...
What truth is there to behold?
Not much I understand...
always oblivious to the obvious.
Make my move...
Will I?
Can I?
Is it possible,
to see the possible
and understand
what my purpose is?
Am I to question life?
Too much,
too fast...
I can't keep up,
with my own beat.
Will it end one day?
Will it be okay?
Reach out,
grasp what I
cannot...
Try my best,
try my hardest
they say...
What is it?
Who is the tiniest
ant to this world...?
Am I that ant?

Perhaps you have no purpose or perhaps you make your own.
Perhaps purpose is an invention of man and something not seen in the universe before he gained consciousness, or perhaps it was some tool our ancestors used to construct in them something to hope for.
Ah well. I do not know life any better then you. Indeed, I can only question.

Galladonsfire it seems to me you two presume to believe this to be "my" stream of conscious... May I remind you that the terms "you" can be used in the general sense so as to mean people in general. No one made any presumptions as to the purpose or inspiration of this poem. [I didn't anyways.]

Actually I feel this way quite a lot. Or I used to. Then I thought about smaller bits of destiny, then I thought about my own plans; then I decided to go Taoist and let life run its course.
Doesn't stop me from wishing though.
