If your to lasy to read, a breef summery of the article is that a 10 year old died after sticking his head in a sand box beleving he would gain kazakage-sama(Gara) of Naruto's power.

I have a question for you, where were the parents? Or any adult supervision?
Shouldent people be watching there kids when they are playing in the backyard at such a yung age?
I can rember being that yung and playing around in the backyard with my older syblings. I got hurt many times that could have been avoided if there was somewhone out there telling us "No, yor gona kill yourself"
For instance, once me and my cusins were playing on the swings, and my cussion pushed me off of one of them and then proceded to slam the swing (One of the ones where 4 people can sit in and push) Into my back because I was "Too yung to be on it with the big girls"(I am the yungest by 2 years)
I got the wind nocked out of me and if it hit any harder it could have snaped my spine.
I mean, i can see not watching teens, because they know better. But kids still do not have an exact deffinition of right and wrong yet and should atleast have a perint somewhere paying some form of atenchion to the kids to avoid acdents like this.
But even at 10...and the other kids were suposivley older...The parents should have tought the kids of suffacation. or atleast the school should have.
What happened to common sence?
And I also have to worry for the anime itself. The artical dident say anything about the parents sewing and stated that it was the kids falt in the authers prospective, but what if they sew?
What will it mean for the future of anime in this cuntry?

Another thing I have to wonder about, why did they try to make naruto such a kid show?
The american version and merchindising is ovicley gerded twords kids 7-13.
Naruto is a show about hardship and death. Why would you try to kiddytize it?
Yes, it is also about someone trying to persue there dreem nomatter what, but the origional show was ovicley gearded twords teens, not the pree-teans.
Also, there are alot of sexual undertones in the origional anime, why would you try to skirt all this to make it a kids tv show? I't just does not make sence to me...
*Adds the belevie it vrs Dattybio rant* STOP TRYING TO TRANSLATE NONSENCE WORDS DANM IT! xD; Oh well, atleast they stoped using beleve it in the dub. now if onley they could get compotent voice acters...-sigh-

I know where you are coming from.

There was this place I used to work
at, kinda like a kids play area. No,
not a day care center, just an area
where kids can play, like a park for instance.
There was a big toy for big kids, and little toy
for babies. Completely two seperate areas.
During one of my shifts, I found
out that a baby was on the big kids
play toy, and feel about 4 feet to the
ground. The kid was only 4 months old.
The parents? At the coffee shop.
The shop was about a five minute walk.
Sadly, the baby broke his arm. Better
than actually taking his life.
._.;

What happened to the days where parents
actually cared for their kids?

GOD kids are so stupid these days. I mean seriously...

Anyways I think 10 is a perfectly fine age to play alone in the backyard. I mean parents -should- look outside every 15 min or so and make sure the kid is ok, but they dont need to be constantly watching them. Especially when there are older kids around.

I used to run around outside by myself all the time. And I would go ALL over the neighborhood, riding my back and playing in big rock walls and in the middle of the woods and what not with my friends. I dont know how old I was but it was elementary school so I must have been young.

Parents need to teach their kids not to do stupid s**t like bury their heads in the sand :/ Or play that damn choking game. And the people who make the shows like Naruto should have to put warnings on the show telling kids not to try that s**t at home.

Like back in the day when they taught little elementary aged girls to cook over real fires, and elementary eged boys to chop fire wood, and then left them alone to do it? ;D

Kids used to be able to handle s**t back in the day before people got too much technology and got stupid.

I don't have much tolerance for death-by-stupidity.
When I was ten I was more intelligent than many people I know now. The fact that the kid, and all around him, thought that nothing bad could possibly happen when he buried his head a foot down in the sand makes me really lose faith in humanity. Most kids at ten should know that breathing = important...
I blame bad parents and ineffective schooling. And possibly hereditary stupidity. <.<

wow, those kids are really dumb. when i was ten i was running around in the woods without parental supervision. the real woods, as in there were moose and stuff around. i figured out pretty quickly how not to be an idiot.

yeah, if the parents knew their kid was a ********, then they should have been around, but who seriously expects a ten-year-old to kill themselves by burying their heads? i can see watching a toddler who doesn't really know any better, but by the time you're ten you should be able to figure out that breathing is kind of necessary. :/

User ImageI agree with Nymphie on this completely.

I believe this is a direct result of parents not parenting, schools only teaching tests, and technology.

Kids have been getting dumber since the get-go and it can only get worse from here on.

But there's something ot be said for a kid who would have the will to believe in a cartoon so completely that they could bypass their basic survival instincts to stay true in their fantasy...

EDIT: Ok I actually read the article now and I view this as just what the article said it was: A Tragic accident. I've done some stupid things while pretending. I think this is a sad case where the other kids didn't realize he was suffocating fast enough.
