Hello ladies, gentlemen, and Sesshomaru fans! It has come to my attention (I'm rather slow like that) that our guild is not very active. Obviously this isn't very fun for our guild members, so after several minutes of thought I've decided to open the floor to suggestions from all of you. What would you like to see our Guild do? Have contests (which we tried earlier)? Hold debates? Host Western Lands Idol? Please voice your ideas!

Sesshoumaru Fangirl person of the week contest!
Writes and submits essay for the love of Sesshoumaru each week, a panel of judges judge, and the girl person gets the title of fangirl person for the week xD
And if we have some artistic volunteers, we can have Sesshoumaru drawings as prizes?

It's all right that you didn't use one post. (It makes it look like several people have been posting ideas! xd ) My thoughts on your suggestions- Idea 1: I like that idea, although we shouldn't just limit it to girls; there are a few guys in here as well! Idea 2: A good idea, but we would need more people to be active before trying another roleplay, I think. Idea 3: I'm not quite sure that would work out so well, since there are only so many ways one could make an avatar look like Sesshomaru. It wouldn't be something we could repeat.

I personally like the idea of an art contest. You could maybe make it a monthly thing with a theme for each month.
A Round Robin game could also be loads of fun, too. smile

Oo... debates. That always gets people talking... umm... how about a best-argument contest? Or a fanfiction contest?

Not only that, but I've seen IY clubs wherein they still have fanfiction contests and it still runs quite well. I think that if the contest were to give out prompts and whatnot, it would make it easier. Besides, a good writer should be able to write things even on things they don't like. I may not like Sesshoumaru/Rin or Sesshoumaru/Sango or Sesshoumaru/Kagome, but if someone were to give me a prompt and put it up as a contest, I'd still give it a shot.

What's a round robin game? surprised A Round Robin game is like writing a collaborated story. Someone starts the story by writing an introductory sentence or two; leaving an open for someone to pick up where they left off. The next person adds another two sentences to continue it, and so on and so forth. Here's an example... Person 1 - Rin crouched before the roaring campfire; rubbing her hands briskly over the open flames. With a heavy sigh, she turned to face Jaken... Person 2 - ...and stuck her tongue out at the sour imp; who looked back at her with a look that was a mix of annoyance and surprise. With a frown, he... Person 3 - ...made to stand, but stumbled over his own two feet and landed smack dab into the fire. With a painful cry, he... And so on and so forth. Round Robin games can be pretty fun- as they don't have to be serious in their story telling and can be free to be utterly random. smile

Debates can get gritty D: And the fanfiction is a good idea, but again that pertains to different people's tastes. cheese_whine I'm with Kaze-Chan on this one - debates can be pretty fun, so long as a set of rules are set into place to prevent unwanted bickering (such as - respect the fact that people have differeing opinions, or do not resort to name calling/insults, supply evidence to support your ideas, etc). Take as an example, I was just having a small debate with a Kagome/Sesshoumaru supporter over whether or not they would make a good couple. She listed her reasons why she believed they would, I listed mine over how they wouldn't - and though we didn't agree on the pairing, we still handled it civilly.

Lovely, lots of ideas are coming now! I'll put them up in the first post. biggrin I've played round-robin games in person, and I agree that they're very fun. Debates are good as well, as long as (like Aneko-Sama said) they have good rules. I noticed the suggestions for an art contest, and I'd just like to point out that we already tried having one contest. It ended with only two entries...
