Since pretty much every single screenwriter in the States is in strike, all you can see in the American airwaves is nothing but reruns of previous seasons, and that's it. Therefore, if the American networks start airing anime instead of their normal TV shows, the people would be like "OMGFZ japaneez TV iz soooooo fukcign awwwwweeesom!!!!11!1", and there you have a new generation of Americans who grew up watching anime. surprised
They could start at least with something palatable to American eyes, something with a sitcom-like pace like Haruhi Suzumiya, something serious and deep like Elfen Lied, or action-packed stuff like Hellsing (and besides we all know that vampire stories here, when well done, are instant success). Then they could start showing these "mighty ******** badass awesome" series like Evangelion, Gurren Lagann, GaoGaiGar or Bakuretsu Tenshi. And then, once the American audiences are used to these series, it's time to introduce the more "Japanese-like" stuff like Yamibou, Fate/stay night, Samurai Champloo, Excel Saga, Kannazuki no Miko, or just to cash in the homosexuality fad set by Queer Eye for a Straight guy, something like Gravitation.
And finally, when everyone in America is too hooked in anime to go back to watch their new seasons of House M.D., it's time to show the good stuff, the Weird Japanese Things, stuff like Excel Saga, Lucky Star, Azumanga Daioh or Tsukuyomi Moon Phase. 3nodding

Hahaha, oh yes, why not? I'd suggest Death Note in there for a moral lesson as well as awesomeness.
But I actually like House. xd ;
