Do you believe in ALIENS? I just want to know how many people believe in Extraterrestrial Life and what their reasons are.

The universe is infinitely big. It's a little conceited of us to think ours is the only planet that produced intelligent life.

agreed, it would be vain and presumptuous for us to assume all this vast space and glittery stars were created just for *us*. now, whether aliens ever really visited our planet or not, I cant say. never experienced it. but other worlds with other life forms is entirely logical, imo.

of course. Space is far too big for one planet of people. Others gotta be out there.
have they visited us? I, personally think so, but who knows? (( the government, thats who!!! LOL))

I think there are other forms of life somewhere out in space.

one would have to be very narrow minded to think we are the only ones out there. i also belive we are not the most advanced.

I think that there could be life out there, it's just the fact is we can't really prove or disprove it. I mean on Mars they think that there used to be life there but the way the climate is and how the water there is it's a little hard to believe. But I do think that there could be life out there, it's just a matter if we want to really find out and go there to find them or to just stay here and deal with all the problems we have here. Like Global Warming. And killing each other.

If you pick up a grain of sand and look into space through only that little area, you could see millions of galaxies, so the very notion that extraterrestrial life is almost inconceivable. So yes, I do believe.

yes i do beleive their is exterestrial life. their would be cultures far more advanced then us and their would be cultures who would be just finding out metal is more durable then wood. but the thing you must consider is if we find other intelegent species who would make the first aggresive move? just from seeing how humans seem to react to stuff they dont know it might be us. and when humans do create a vehicle to tranverse the stars would it be right for us to help less advanced cultures by giving them technology?
also anouther point to consider is maby aliens have visited us, and maby some of them told us they were aliens, where do you think they probably ended up in a asylum becuase they would have been considerd crazy. and maby aliens arre just waiting for us to reach the technological point in our history to acheve space exploration with maned vehicles before they reveil them selfs.
but since we cannot disprove aliens as much as prove they exist we may never know.
but to point out at least their would be unintelgent species out their as well
now to a question. suppose aliens from mars and aleins from jupiter exist and they dont like each other for some reason which would you be more fearfull of? and why

The mere size of the universe says that theremust be something out there. It's just vain to think we're the only intelligent life. Nobody can know for sure yet, but I find it vextremely likely

There HAS to be some type of life out there. Like others said before...space is too vast for there not to be. But it gets confusing, because we have to ask the question, what is life? There could be life out there that resembles absolutly nothing of what we think life is. So my question is...will we be able to spot life if we see it? HAVE we allready spotted life, but it was not our definition so we overlooked it? The possibilities are endless.

"life" in the common sense of the word is something that comes into being, grows, breathes, takes in nutrients, and dies. but even tho we breathe oxygen, doesnt mean that every kind of life in the universe breathes oxygen. even plants on our own planet breathe in carbon dioxide (what we exhale). there could be something out there on some other planet that breathes nitrogen and has oil running thru it's veins instead of blood.. who knows? but if it's born, grows and dies, it's a living thing regardless of it's method of living.

Right, but what if even this broadest definition of life is too narrow? It's only broad by human standards. What if, as KatrynaS says, there is life that does not fit our definition? What if there is a form of life that does not breathe, does not grow, or never dies? It's difficult to imagine, and I'm not sure I'm convinced, but the possibilities are endless!

It's hard to tell- as far as we know we're the only ones out there but if you think about it it's a bit wierd that we think it's only us. There could have been another big bang or something we didn't know about- another entirely coincidental universe. Thing is, we have no way to tell. eek
