Today I found a map of what the USA might look like in regards to abortion access if Roe v Wade was overturned.

There's a whole article here that goes with the map for anyone who would like to read it.

Of course, my state is conservative and pig-headed on another issue. I really hate living in the south sometimes. neutral

What, Texas and the rest of the south hasn't changed it's name to Jesus land by now? I'm not the least bit surprised by this map luckily, New Mexico is pretty close -as close as it can get-

I keep telling people that having a pro-choice Jennifer Granholm for governor doesn't do s**t, and finally here's some proof.

LadyInWhite Wait... isn't Colorado where a lot of the insane things orginated i.e. the whole fertilised eggs are people? The rest doesnt surprise me really. From my scant knowledge on the subject, California used to be the place the "white bread" white people flocked to for a time. I'm basing this info off of "fast food nation" where it talks about the initial rise of fast food joints. California was attractive because of the weather, the geography, the potential for finding wealth, whatever. Of course, California became unattractive a place to stay after a while (high taxes, high crime, etc), so these people picked Colorado as their new "home". I don't live in Colorado, I've never been in the area, so I really don't know jack s**t about it except that there IS a religious fundy presence (If you've watched "Jesus Camp") as well as a hipster liberal presence, and that there is lower obesity rates, that Denver is a progressive city for young singles looking for action/excitement, that it is a gorgeous place. Someone who is from Colorado, please enlighten us more on this matter? I live in NC, and I hate it. I hate being in the south. I hate the weather for it is too hot, and I hate the automatic association that all southerners are dumb, slow, backwards, intolerant, narrow-minded, etc, and I do not want to affiliate with that. I was actually surprised it was one of those "middle" states because I expected it to be tight-assed backwards on abortion. But middle ground is still not enough. Supporting pro-choice and abortion is *not* extreme. "Pro-life" states are extreme. Oh and OP, thanks for posting the graph/chart. Excellent picture.

It didn't seem like one of those crazy fundy states to me. But i seem to recall that Purity Balls started in Colorado Springs. And that that new bill about eggs is being considered there. I've been to Missouri too. I have family there. While they are quite fundy crazy the state never seemed to me to be so adamant about abortion access. What I saw was a lot of poor people and middle class people, people from different races etc. People who statistics will speculate get more abortions than your average american. The first time I saw Missouri being against something concerning abortion I was rather shocked but then slowly things started adding up. Michigan, Arizona, Kansas were the same. So i shall second Grips plea for enlightenment from natives of Colorado.

So i shall second Grips plea for enlightenment from natives of Colorado. I was in Colorado last year, and the place is mostly pretty liberal and friendly. However, when you get to Denver (especially downtown), it turns a full 180 to conservative from the police to the city treating the homeless like s**t.
Just my experience, though. Kansas I'm not surprised it'd be in the middle, but I also wouldn't be surprised if the government turned around and restricted abortion further despite people's wants and complaints.

I've already told my husband that if Roe is ever overturned we're moving out of Texas. I can't stand how backwater this damn state is.
