I am thinking of going to buddhist youth festival It sounds great and this castle is just 30km from my parents house. What do you guys think? Would you go there if you had the possibility to go?

So here is my story how it was, guys you all should come to the next one!
This was the greatest thing I can think of to start the New Year with. We had 4 days together with 65 people from 12 nations (Germany, Austria, France, Czeck Republick, USA, Canada, Island, Holland, Russia, England, Brazil, Switzerland) meditating together, having discussion groups on buddhism, art sessions, yoga and a New Years party. This was hosted at a 300 years old castle and the rooms were so beautiful. I made a lot of friends there, it's so great to meet people, who practise mindfulnes and try intergrating it into their daily lives! We had astonishing deep conversations and and there were no bad vibes at all! Just a bunch of young people being happy and enjoying themselves. Meditation practise was two hours a day, one hour in the morning and one in the late afternoon. We did always ca 25 min sitting meditation, 10 min walking meditation and then 25 min sitting again. There was also time to practise meditation on your own in the shrine room when ever you liked. One guy was giving a Sanskrit class, which was very interesting, so I leared how to pronouce Sanskrit right. Too bad the days went over so incredibly fast... I hope to be there next year again!

That sounds incredible! I'm so happy you had a great time! I can imagine what it'd be like to meet so many people from all over the world. And Sanskrit lessons! That's so cool! biggrin

Sanskrit is cool, we could have done more of it, I liked it very much.
The discussion group was very interesting, cause all people from non- buddhist families thought it must be great to grow up into buddhism, but many of the the second generation kids said: No! rolleyes Mum and Dad always wanted me to meditate.. rolleyes I want to discover buddhism on my own behalf and find my own path...

Never thought about that before, but I never met someone grown up into a buddhist family before.

That makes sense to me. When I used to be a Christian I noticed that the
people who were raised Christian weren't as enthusiastic about it as though
who came to the religion on their own. Would you ever go again, Leia?

Yes, sure I will go there again if it's not colliding with concerts (you know this is my work and I am freelance sweatdrop )
They think about doing it in the same place again next year, so it would be more than perfect for me blaugh
also this can be my Sangha, as you know I live in a catholic place... the only buddhist people here, are from some strange teacher, who doesn't meet the requirements for a good buddhist teacher rolleyes very sad story.... so I can't go there.
