All ninjas require the use of accessories in combat or completing missions.
Most or all of these items would be found among a shinobi's routine things, but it is not required. Expect that opposing and allied shinobi all have these things on them in combat or on a mission.

Body Armor - The most common body armor consists of a small sheet of horizontal metal plates across the chest and back. They are typically worn under a ninja's clothing, however, it is not worn by all ninjas.
File - A file is normally hidden within the clothing of the ninja. If the ninja is captured, the file can be withdrawn from its secret location to cut through metal.
Forehead Protector - This is a band of cloth with a metal plate in the middle worn by almost all ninjas. Given to the ninja upon completion of the Ninja Academy, is it proof of a person's status as a full fledged ninja, and is thus worn proudly and also fiercely guarded against damage. Most of the time, it is worn as a headband, but can be worn as a belt, armband, or necklace. The metal plate on the band is inscribed with a unique symbol of the ninja's home village.
Hand Guard - This is a simple metal plate attached to the ninja's gloves. It is very useful for blocking and deflecting attacks.
Hip Pouch - This is a larger pouch attached to the a ninja's belt area and positioned for easy access, usually the over the rear left hip. A ninja stores most of his or her equipment in this pouch. Common items include: kunai, shuriken, scrolls, trap wire, smoke/flash bombs, exploding tags, hand mirrors, and if you happen to be Chouji Akimichi, insane amounts of potato chips.
Hunter Disposal Kit - Hunters will dispose of a body to prevent any of the village's secrets from falling into enemy hands with the help of this kit.
Kunai Holster - This small pouch strapped around the right leg, rarely on the left, is used for the storing of kunais. These holsters can also be placed in other hidden parts of the body as well.
Scrolls- A common item in the Naruto world, the scroll is used in many different ways. Normal scrolls are your average blank rolls of paper. They are useful for taking notes. See SCROLLS, below.
Radio - This short range radio is capable of keeping ninja in contact across several miles. The radio can accept multiple frequencies and is activated to talk by pushing a button on the neck attachment.
Range Finder - The range finder can function both as binoculars and as a means to measure the distance to a target.
Vest - This is a protective vest worn by most ninjas. This is considered a type of uniform, but the exact color and design varies by the village. Usually a vest features a large number of pockets and pouches for storing scrolls, equipment, and other items of need. This is usually worn by shinobi of the chuunin level or above.

WEAPONS
Bombs - Oddly enough, bombs are used in Naruto, but not often. So far there has only been 3 different bombs seen in the series: Smoke, Gas and Light.
The smoke bomb is either used as a distraction or an escape tool.
The gas bomb is simply a poisonous gas bomb which causes coughing once breathed in.
The light bomb is used to blind a person.
Exploding Tags - A commonly used weapon, exploding tags are pieces of paper with the Japanese character "Baku," which means "explode" written on it. These tags can be easily placed on various items and will ignite them and explode after a short amount of time.
Fuuma Shuriken - The fuuma shuriken is also known as the windmill shuriken. It is much larger than the normal shuriken and it is also collapsible. Though the accuracy rate is much lower the effects of being hit by a fuuma shuriken are far more deadly.
Kunai - The Kunai is a kind of basic dagger that all ninjas use. It is all-purpose and can be used as a throwing knife or to stab at your opponents. It is extremely vital for all ninja to have.
Mouth Ember - Combustible mouth ember is hidden inside the mouth of a ninja. To activate it, a ninja must simply bite the ember. Then the ninja can spit out the ember to ignite combustible items.
Shuriken - The shuriken, otherwise known as ninja stars, is a very deadly and commonly used weapon.
There are two types of shuriken: the tiny ones which are smaller and easier to throw, and the Fuuma Shuriken: a huge shuriken used for fast and easy killing. It is very unwieldy, but if it hits you, you're as good as dead!
While the Fuuma shuriken is preferred by the older and more experienced ninja, some Genin find it easier to use than the regular sized shuriken.
Wire - Wires are simple thin metal wiring often tied to the kunai or shuriken and thrown to in groups to fasten an enemy to a tree or rock.

SCROLLS
Contract scrolls are used by the various animal clans to enable ninjas to summon them.
Sealing scrolls are used to seal and contain things of danger to prevent them from doing any harm.
Summoning scrolls are used by many ninjas to summon creatures or objects that are too difficult or too situational to carry around. These scrolls are often filled with bizarre writing and require a swipe of the summoner's blood in order to use them.
Some examples of things that can be SUMMONED by a summoning scroll could be various types of insects, animals, or weapons.
The greater amount of chakra used, the larger the summon.
