Kurogane was in a good mood. Yes, everyone take a breath of surprise, the ninja was in a good mood. Even with being in this dog/rabbit form, and considering his circumstances, he was in a terrific mood. Over his time with the mage in this world things had gotten easier, especially after a certain talk they had had one evening.
The mage was easier to deal with, the idiot's teasing aside, and thus lead to a happy ninja who didn't have to play nanny all the time. He even willingly agreed to go on a walk with the mage without even complaining or huffing. Certainly a sight to be seen.
He walked silently in the forest at the mage's side, keeping a small smirk on his face ( which in his case is his smile) with his ears held high and his tails swinging gently behind him as he moved.

If one was near enough, they could hear the humming of a random tune from the paler kitsu of the pair. With arms lifted up and resting behind his head, the male had a skip to his steps, golden hair bouncing in a jolly manner. Who would figure, considering such dark attire they wore and the somewhat grey sky above. None of that seemed to matter however, as the two continued on without concern in their walking.
"Hyuuu, Kurorin! Where do you suppose the children are?" Goodness, at the very least Syaoran had to be in this world too. But there hadn't been sight or sound of the boy. Or th eprecious white manjuu he carried with him. Fai sighed openly, drawing his arms down to curl around his upper waist. "And the weather is getting chilly!" His voice was in a false whining. He was obviously used to such cold atmosphere's, but it had been some time ago since he last experienced such weather. Ears tucked in near his shoulders. "I want meh floofy coat back." How he missed that coat. 3

The ninja glanced over at the mage, scratching at the back of his head. Where were they indeed. The ninja had no idea where they were, and considering that they had left infinity together, it didn't seem likely that another incident like Yama would occur. The ninja coughed, covering his maw with his free paw in order to cover up his sudden look of sheepishness. Not that the mage was paying THAT close attention to him anyways.
" Tsk. Don't complain about the weather, mage. You're the one that even HAS a coat on." He didn't mean to complain, he was just pointing out the facts. Fai had his nice black coat, while Kurogane just had his sleeveless top. Not exactly the best attire for this season. Sure they both had fur, but a coat or something to block out the cold air would have been nice. There he goes complaining again.
The ninja huffed, folding his arms in front of his chest and staring forward as they walked.

Blink blink. The short male magically slid over and closer to the ninja, leaning with a raised brow. "Ehh? Kuro puppy have a cold?" Coughing wouldn't be any good now. Or had he been trying to catch his attention? White speckled tails waved back and forth behind him as they continued walking, the mage only giggling at his traveling partner, not really expecting an answer.
Bottom lip pouted as he was told to stop his whining, which only brought it about in double dosage. "But this is such a thin coat. And look! It doesn't even cover my belly." One pale paw moved to poke said belly. Poor thing. Fai slowed and stopped his walking for a stretch session. Back stretched and popped upward as his arms were stretched forward. Wings and tails bristled out behind him before smoothing out once again. "Ehhhh." Maybe a walk wasn't the best idea. But what else did they have to do?

The cool breeze stung at her face as she flew, green wings tilting to the winds with their 'eyes' flickering as her feathers shifted. It felt good. Clear. Fresh. Her mind had been thinking too much, too long, after the conversation with the starry pelted male. It was time to think of something else for a while. Or nothing. A flight through the chilling air was just the thing.
She was a SeeD, a White SeeD. As such she was prepared -not flying into the cold of late fall/early winter in naught but her civilian dress. But as she wished for the feel of the cold she dressed not to the hilt of cold weather gear as she might were she intending to travel to Trabia. Nor was it nearly that cold yet. But she did wear gloves on her paws -black like her boots- and an off-white warm wool hooded dress parka. It had holes for her ears which kept the hood on her head nicely, not quite hiding all of her strawberry-blonde tresses in their loose chignon from view. The parka was higher in front than in back, still showing an inch or two of peach shirt beneath it while in back it hung down past the female's waist. The large piece of fabric had one large button on each side to make the 'sleeves' but otherwise hung loose and comfortable. It was not her usual White SeeD cool gear... but it was close and it was close. Nicer too... when wearing civies.
Not that Rune Bivrow was thinking about her appearance. It hardly mattered, though she kept it as she always did. Perhaps out of habit. She was surely not attempting to impress anyone now. Still... that was no reason to become unkempt, was it?
But it was sometimes hard to continue when there was little to no hope for her dream.
I need a new dream. A new reason. But how? One dream it had been since the White SeeD could remember, and thanks to M'din's help that was everything. She might not have her GF's telepathic & telekinetic powers any more, but the effects of his presence for so long on her memory had remained. Everything clear -as if it had only been a moment ago. Not even yesterday.
It was busy, sometimes.
Now was a time to clear her head. Not to think. To find something. Anything. Perhaps a distraction. Something to feel useful. A productive distraction?
Pale green eyes casually glanced at the ground below her. Fall was such a beautiful time. All golden and... hmm? Now what's that?
Movements of dark. Folded wings. Blue? The Winged SeeD lowered her altitude. Debate -land and greet or not? They looked happy. Content. The sense -yes... she was getting a sense even without M'din- from them was that they were both fighters in their own way of their own right. There would likely be little hiding from them unless they did not wish to notice her. But... perhaps that would be better. Let it be their 'choice' as it were to notice her or not. Rune did not wish to disturb them... and yet she was already near enough to be noticed.
Spreading her wings Rune caught the wind in them like a parachute, gliding down at a polite distance from the black clad males in her usual fashion: becoming upright as one accustomed to two-legged stance at one time, back paws touching down first before bringing her wings in to her body then letting her gloved paws touch down to the ground.

Kurogane stared at the mage for a moment as me spoke about being cold in his outfit. Now was he purposely showing off his stomach, or just being a dumb blonde like usual? The ninja huffed loudly as he turned his attention to the road before them. Why did the mage insist on complaining so much?
" Regardless, a coat's a co-" The ninja paused as his ears perked and then pinned back toward the source of the sound he had just heard. His usual frown returned as he stopped walking, turning around to look back behind them. They did indeed have a visitor, and it was someone he hadn't met yet, perhaps the mage had.
" Oi, mage.." He nodded toward their new visitor, but kept quiet, as he usually did when they met people, letting the mage do all the talking.

The mage only peered back to the ninja with his wide grin. It was simply much too easy to antagonize Kurogane, but that never stopped the pale mage! Blue eye blinked open to find why the other kitsu had paused, both in speech and walking. Hyuu?
Fai's head tilted cutely as he turned to the sound and smell of the stranger, offering a friendly smile. "Ehh? We have a visitor." He watched and waited as the other adjusted from her landing before skipping forward. His stride held no hesitation, but always the cautionary approach to another. She didn't seem threatening in the least. Who could be when bearing flowery gear and such a pretty parka? "Well hello there Ma'am." Fai bowed politely and lowly before straightening up again, leaning forward just a tad bit. "I'm Fai D. Flourite, and what is your name." His smile was charming despite his dark attire, and blue tails wagged behind him. Almost as an after thought, the kitsu turned to the side and pointed over to the ninja. "And over there we have Kurorin. Or Kuromuu, or Kurowanwan, or Kuropii." Yep, all those would do just well.
Fai waved openly to his traveling partner, urging him to come over. "KURORIN! Stop looking so scary and come visit!" <3

She nearly paused in her automatic return bow, graceful for all that it showed the female had once been more familiar with doing so on two legs. Not for the bow the one-eyed blonde gave her, but for the almost stony frown of the darker one. Was he like Seifer in that? -frown first, maybe smile later? It brought the faintest sad smile to her maw followed by a quick mental reprimand. Enough of such thoughts, Rune. You're a SeeD -act like one.
Thankfully Fai's smile was contagious though hers remained light. A graceful brow arched at all the names offered for the speaker's -had she heard the dark one call him a mage? It was clear now they wore not wizard nor Organization black- companion. Then she smiled more pleasantly, the faintest chuckle coming from her. Rune suspected none of those were the dark one's given name. Kuro something though, I'd wager...
"Rune Bivrow." The White SeeD offered in her soft clear voice, gently carrying through the air between them even as she dipped her head in another small bow. "I apologize if I interrupted anything, Fai D. Flourite. Kuro..." She let the name dangle, soft green eyes shifting then from the mage's blue towards the other's red gaze as she left it open for him to fill in properly. "So many pet names... I fear I don't know you well enough to chose one." Hyne... she was almost teasing. Her tails swung lightly behind her, strawberry tips never quite brushing even the crunchy fallen leaves upon the ground. Her stance though graceful and ladylike was one of a fighter -and that of a fighter who was also accustomed to a boat. Determined, able to do what a soldier needed... but here she was not a soldier and was quickly showing a shy side, looking like she was suddenly debating having landed and making her presence known at all. Raising one black gloved paw to her mouth Rune cleared her throat with a cough. What to say though? Fai's charm & energy was almost too much -if she was not accustomed to Zell & others at home. Nervously the paw moved to smooth an imagined crinkle in her peach blossom print skirt. "Do you really wish to visit?" Curiosity mixed with loneliness tinged her words, a light hope that she might find distraction from her thoughts.

Kurogane frowned deeply before stomping over to the mage, bopping him over the head. " Its Kurogane, idiot! Don't introduce me to strangers with those damned names." He huffed, folding his arms over his chest yet again and glaring at nothing in particular. In all actuality he only put up with the mage calling him those names, he didn't need someone else using them too.
His attention turned toward their visitor, an eyebrow arching as he finished her sentence for her. " Gane, its Kurogane. I prefer my real name, but this idiot won't get that through his skull." He glared at the mage again, only this time a small smirk tugged at his maw.
The ninja folded his blood splattered wings against his back as he sat down, making himself comfortable. He knew the mage would be more than happy to have a visitor and make a new friend, it was usually like this in the other worlds that they traveled to. First to introduce himself and first to make friends. He huffed before turning his attention to their visitor.
She was certainly someone he had never met before, but he could tell that she was a fighter. Nothing too obvious, just something that all fighters can point out. It was like a built in radar or something. His tails flicked in agitation as he turned his attention from her once more, turning his gaze to the mage.

Hmmm? What was this now? Fai dismissed the little quirks noticed by the lovely female. See, Kurogane was scary! But not only that....there was something else there. And with the mage being a master of facades, he just had to shuffle through all the options. Sorrow, perhaps? Either way, his smile remained unpressuring and open.
"Rune is it? How nice-" The slight male wailed as a sudden force knocked him in the back of his head. Crouching, he darted to hide behind Rune, only to peer back over her shoulder with a cheery smile. Not just touching, but as close a s a stranger can be without bothering another with anxiety. "Kurogane is so mean to me. Oh, such a beautiful parka." Blue tails twisted and curled lightly behind the male, and he smiled wider as Rune commented the naming topic. Pet names seemed the perfect categorization, ne? Her cough drew him back, and he skipped back next to Kurogane, ignoring his huffs and blunt stares. "Hyuuu? Visiting is always pleasant. Unless you do not want....have anything else to do?" It was a retorical question with a hinted tune, as if he almost knew the answer. Why else would she bother halting her flight?
Fai's the tiniest of the three certs. XDD

Scrutiny Rune could handle. She had after all been the one to interrupt their walk, not them her flight. Even The scowling one's smacking of his companion though she readied slightly at it. Not so being suddenly used as a barrier, by anyone not kit or family. Her green eyes widened slightly, mouth nearly forming an 'o' of surprise before catching herself. Mage? And he was hiding behind a stranger from his companion? It baffled the SeeD's mind, not following any tactics or strategy for safety she could think of. Magic users, very generally, were usually very susceptable to physical damage. However this one was quick -he would have to be hit first. Still they were making her smile though for completely different reasons. Fai was simply easy to smile with, and Rune had to appreciate the completely random compliment to her coat. Like Zell... smiling no matter what is going on inside. Kurogane... well she smiled lightly catching the smirk from his glare. Imagined understanding though she may or may not be right. A light tilt of her head with a gentle almost understanding smile. "Kurogane then."
She relaxed again as the mage returned to his companion. Rune was too accustomed to being unobserved & overlooked still. Her eyes lowered, debating whether to answer the question to which the answer was fairly obvious. The mage's blue eye was too piercing for all his smiles. So oddly knowing. Strangely more of a comfort to the SeeD than his smiles though it was a curiosity. "I have nothing planned..."
Want. What Rune wanted... well a distraction from thinking of her dream. A dream she would always carry though it would never be any more than that for her. So yes, Rune did want this visit.
Now if she could only overcome her shyness to make conversation. She almost wished the hyperactive fistfighter was with her, so she could disappear behind his gregariousness like sullen Kurogane seemed to be doing with the smiling Fai. "Would I be presuming that you are travel companions? Have you traveled much of the Realm?" Slowly, gracefully, Rune sat to her haunches. If they were going to talk, she might as well get comfortable. how long a distraction will this be Rune wondered to herself, gaze slowly and lightly encompassing both males.

Kurogane sighed in relief. At least SHE was going to use his correct name. It was bad enough that the mage seemed to have an endless supply of those damned nicknames. He watched the mage hide behind Rune, smirking slightly at the mage's playfulness. He wouldn't admit it out loud, and certainly not in front of a person they just met, but he was glad that Fai was in a good mood again. Even though the nicknames made him furious, it upset him even more to hear the mage use his real name.
Traveling companions, Rune certainly guessed correctly, though it wasn't THAT hard to figure out. However, Kurogane hadn't done much traveling during his time away from the mage. Although from the list of others the mage had said he met, he figured the mage had traveled quite a bit of it. He shrugged in response, flicking his tails behind him. The mage could better answer this question, the ninja really had nothing much to comment on.

Fai was a mage, but no mind reader. If he'd known what thoughts crossed the SeeD's mind, the male would be most highly curious and careful. To be so openly known as a mage, well, never had been too much a problem. But when analyzed in such a way, it did send for high caution. Was this lovely femme a threat? Hiding like Fai behind a kind demeanor? The male simply shrugged to himself with his famous closed-eye smile. Why worry.
A single pale paw waved out lazily. "Nyaaa, go with Kuro-wanwan. It's so much easier to remember. "What with the tail and the fur and the ears." His own ears twittered to Rune's reply of schedule. "Nothing planned. Well what do you know, neither do we." Of course the pale male spoke on both his and Kuro's behalf. Otherwise they'd only recieve a huff and a shrug. The ninja agreed to this walk, why not a visit too? Blue tails curled around his feet, slidding about the black tails of his coat. Hmmm, how much ha they traveled in realm? "Ehh, we've both just left the mountain cabin, both that's about all that I've seen here. What about you Kuromoo?" That's right, they never did discuss just where and what they had seen. The mage turned blankly to the ninja, poking his shoulder in a small action of pestering. Such great communications skills, these two.

The White SeeD held no devious thoughts behind her 'mask' only her own shyness. She wondered such things because she was trained to do so, a lifetime of protecting her 'sis' in another place. Very lightly her eyes crinkled and Rune shook her head. No... she would use the warrior's given name. She was not one for nicknames anyway, the only one she had ever done so for being calling Ellone 'Sis' -though really Ellone was more sister to Squall than any of the rest of them. But there was reason for that, Rune knew, having been told by Ellone herself as they sailed their world. Her smile was for the blue-eyed one's playful insistence & idly she wondered if he would be slapped in the back of the head again for it.
Another smile, her ears flicking casually through the holes in her hood for the way Fai spoke of their own plans. How did he make something so mundane sound so... playfully warm? He really was a counterpoint to Kurogane's silence. Her green eyes flicked between them, gentle. "You've not been very far at all then. The Mountain is but one area of the kitsusagi Realm." Her tails gave a thoughtful flick behind her and Rune set one gloved paw thoughtfully in front of the other as if wanting to hold something there between them. it still felt so odd to travel without her staff in hand even after nearly a year. She did have that collapsible Membari staff in her pocked that Myranda conjured for her at Trelweny's suggestion. It was better than nothing, and certainly easier than carrying a staff around with paws... but Rune missed the feel of her weapon.
Her gaze lingered on Kurogane as Fai passed the question on to him, not really expecting him to answer. A gentle smile, silently saying he did not have to answer unless he wanted to. "I take it you're both relatively new here then. You probably have more questions of me..."
Her voice trailed, thoughtful. "I confess I'm curious how you arrived. There seem to be many ways -some known some not. Do you know yours? & if you do... would you mind sharing it with me?"

"Is that so now?" More places and people to see. And maybe they'd even find a feather. The mage was sure that Kurogane was thinking the same idea. Fai's muzzle fell to a shallow frown, surprised that his poking was going this far ignored. Was he getting that repetitive? D8 The mage sighed and removed his paw before it fell off from the effort. Maybe another time.
Adjusting himself so his eyepatch wasn't interfering with his view, Fai blinked to Rune's pose. Hmm, hadn't another kit-su-sagi said some used to be humans beofre too? And it seemed like a likely guess that Rune may have been one too. Either way, it seemed common enough to be openly accepted and talked about in this world. Though, Fai did have to scratch his head when asked about their transport. Well, they always had a nutshell explanation for that; they traveled from a further country. But...he was certain Rune wasn't asking like that.
"Hmmm, just a spell here and there. It gets the job done." As open as he could be, some things were not just his place to spit out. Especially when it was that concerning on everyone's behalf. "Questions for you? Why of course." If he could just think of them in an organized way.
