Chrysanthemum. Chrysanthemum. Chrysanthemum. The cherub sang her own name happily within her head as she fluttered once around the building that was the mountain headquarters in the gray, pre-rain gloom that filled the sky today. The gray of the sky could not dampen Chrysanthemum's spirits however. having to go inside meant she could look for her daddy! Her head -complete with hairstyle that matched her father's and sister's- tilted to the side as it filled with curious thoughts the cherub knew not the answers for. Why did mommy not want Delphinium to call Daddy mommy? Because it was confusing? For that matter... why would Delphinium call Daddy Mommy? That would be like calling Delphinium Chrysanthemum!
Little Chrysanthemum giggled. Wouldn't that be confusing! Oh! Maybe Mommy was around today too. Fluttering through the headquarters Chrysanthemum started peeking wide eyed into rooms, searching for her family. Mommy would have answers! Like why didn't Daddy every come outside to play with them when the sun was warm and shining and just begging to be played with? And why... now Chrysanthemum lost a bit of her sunny disposition... why didn't Mommy & Daddy play together more? Didn't they like each other? They must, right? To have had the sister cherubs together. And if they didn't... why had Mommy & Daddy gotten together to have Chrysanthemum & Delphinium?
Questions sunny Chrysanthemum had no answers for. "Mooooommmyyyyyy!!! Daaaddddyyyyy!!! Brother Delphiniiiiiuuuum!!!!"

What was this sound that Thorn heard? It sounded familiar. Flicking her large ear at the sound, the rather gruff looking kitsusagi lifted her head to take a look around the room.
"If I didn't know any better, I would have to say an absolutely perfect child was just looking for her parents and her sister..." she murmured with a small smile upon her maw. It was amusing that her child was calling her sister a "brother," but again, it was much cuter than the mistake of their father for a mother.
The room she was lounging in at the moment was close to the entrance to the cabin. It was ever so decently decorated with wood in a pile at the side of the room and a fireplace that was burning gently to keep all warm. A table was set up to one side with a few knick-knacks set up. Hoisting her large body up, the luck kitsusagi began to make her way to find her child. Beneath her paw was a beautiful jade ball, shining ever so elegantly. Pushing the rather heavy looking ornament along with hardly any effort, Thorn mused aloud for any nearby to hear "Oh where, oh where is my little Chrysanthemum?"

Oh yes... calling her sibling her brother. That was an interesting story and one Chrysanthemum was sure to tell her mother when the matter came up. Really it was a simple misunderstanding. It would not take much to fix should anyone try to explain it to the young cherub.
Who was currently screeching to a mid-flight halt, falling backwards in the air. Her gold decorated ear twitched and lifted, turning towards the source of the sound. It had sounded like her mother... it had sounded like her name!
With a happy cry of glee Chrysanthemum flew like a shot towards where it sounded like her mother's voice resonated from. "Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!" Chrysanthemum sang joyously, laughing happily as she flew into her mother's shoulder and nuzzled the much larger Luck's neck with her head. "I was so hoping I'd find you!"

Oh how it must have been to have endless amounts of energy! A warm smile couldn't help but spread upon her maw as she was tackled as best as Chrysanthemum could manage. Leaning her head into her younger daughter and returning each precious nuzzle, she'd greet her child as well:
"Chrysanthemum, you silly girl! Why were you calling your sister a brother?"
She knew there would be an excellent explanation to follow, there always was one.

mmm! Mother was so warm and fluffy and curly. Chrysanthemum loved the feel, the scent of her mother. Loved how her Luck mother's nuzzles enveloped her.
The cherub's ears flicked. Hmm? What was that? Dark violet eyes peered at Thorn's face quizzically as she pulled back to look at her mother. "Sister?" She asked innocently, mouth playing around the unfamiliar term. "Because... because Delphinium has close-similar scent and is not mommy or daddy so the kit said that was brothers! He has brothers! So Delphinium is my brother!" Certainty slipped suddenly from her face into doubt. "Right?"

Letting out a slight chuckle, Thorn pulled back slightly and lay down. She almost seemed to suggest silently that her daughter lay down by her belly so she could listen carefully.
"Yes, Delphinium has a close-scent to you, Chrysanthemum, but I think you are over generalizing."
That was a bit of a mouthful.
"...brother is the term for a boy who has a close-scent to you. The term for a girl with a close-scent to you is 'sister.'" A slight pause, then a confirmation:
"...does that make sense, Chrysanthemum?" She did have to say the full name, for she knew her daughter absolutely loved hearing her own name!

ooo! Laying on Mommy's belly? With a happy murr Chrysanthemum snuggled upon Thorn's belly, nuzzling her muzzle into the curly fur then looking up with her deep violet eyes big and attentive. The little cherub soaked up her mother's every word, head starting to tilt as a mildly confused look touched her happy features. Her tails waged automatically at the sound of her own name -she did love hearing it so. "I... think... So.... Delphinium and I... are sisters not brothers?"
Her face crinkled in contemplation. "Will we have brothers? Someday? And when we do... is there something to call brothers and sisters all at once? Or will I talk about them always as my brothers and sisters?"
