The Teepee

Presca, Faerierain, and ??? live in a soft teepee that is in the mountains.

Espowye's journey began five years ago as a foal in the tiny Indian village of Dikota on the great river of the wind. The wise indian chief, Swims with Great Fish, was looking for an animal to lead him through the wild at night, and the brighteness of the morn - never fearing what lay beyond. Yet none of the stallions suited his need, they were vicious animals with fire in the belly and untamed. He wanted a gentle, and soulful creature.

He'd all but given up hope, when one day one of his member's fillies gave birth. Immediately, he noticed the unusual blue smudge along the back of his neck. He announced that this animal would grow into a gentle spirit, and had he been born human - possibly would have taken Swim with Great Fish's place upon his death. He said "He has the spirit of an elder, the soul of a child and the eyes of the earth!"

Espowye grew up to become his constant shadow, never leaving his side - even as one day the chief was alone in a blizzard. The brave stallion remained by his side all night as the wind whipped across his own body, he sought to protect the man he'd grown to love. It, unfortunately, did little good.

But, from that point on, Espowye was reverred in the company of the other natives of the band, he was never ridden again and always treated with respect. Thus was the story of the wise Espowye.

Special lullaby for our little one -

*Presca gingerly takes the finely-woven basket that contains her precious little sosquili. She slowly sits down in a quiet corner of the room, extinguishes the fire just a little and places the basket in her lap. Over and over again with the warmth of her hand, she strokes the weave of the basket and then begins to sing to it. As she does, she rocks it tenderly. She remembers a pretty Celine Dion song she heard.

I pray you'll be my eyes
And watch her where she goes
And help her to be wise

She smiles and holds the basket against her breast for a moment and then gently places it down safely amongst some blankets in a cradle by the teepee wall. Watching it for a moment, she completely smothers the fire and leaves the wigwam.*

Since I currently reside in British Columbia and Faerierain/Amber resides currently in Montana - I thought it only appropriate we have a spot for this showing the native roots in both our areas.
