As you all probably know by now, Athena commissioned an RP to be written for the guild... she also 'promised' you that it would be posted today. Well... here it is; Blood Moon, the guild's new RP!!
PostPosted: Fri Oct 05, 2007 7:33 pm

Here is the prologue. I hope you like it!!

Oblivious to all but themselves, humans have failed to notice many things going on around them. They think they know their planet inside and out by now, but they have only just begun to scratch the surface. They are so blind to their planet, that they have failed to realize just how diverse and dangerous a place they are living in. Right down to the very last blade of grass, nothing is as it seems.

A war has been raging around humans since the dawn of time, and no one, not one human has taken notice of it. This war is, perhaps, the most dangerous thing that has ever happened in the history of the universe, and yet all animals (even humans) have their part to play in the great battle between vampire and werewolf.

From the outside, the war looks like a petty squabble between these two great powers; nothing more than a simple rivalry. Indeed, that is how it started out; the first vampire and the first werewolf fighting each other till death. The many followers they had left behind continued in their footsteps, fighting the other party until there were only a handful of each left. Neither side was stronger, and neither side emerged victorious. In the end, they both had to give up and separate to strengthen their forces for the next great battle.

For nearly a century, werewolves and vampires made no move against one another. But then, as sudden as it was unexpected, they clashed in an epic battle raging under the Blood Moon. The entire squadrons on both sides were completely obliterated, save for two; one werewolf and one vampire remained alive on either side. Instead of fighting to finish the battle forever, they fled, and were not seen again for another three centuries.

After these three centuries, the moon was red again, and the two armies met to fight for the third time in history. But before the battle could take place, the two leaders met. The two leaders were, of course, the two that had survived during the previous battle. But on meeting for the second time in nearly three centuries, they realized that they were in love. In an attempt to unite the two armies, the King of the Werewolves and Queen of the Vampires broke all boundaries; they got married.

Of course, the two armies were less than thrilled about this marriage. Never before in the history of vampires and werewolves had two even been friends, let alone lovers! The armies were so outraged, that they looked for any way to break them apart, resorting to even the help of their most hated enemies; each other.

But before anything could be decided, the Vampire Queen found herself pregnant. Shortly after, she gave birth to twin girls; one a werewolf and one a vampire. But it was that just after giving birth, the two armies put their plans into action, and drove the King and Queen away, taking their daughters to raise as their own. After that fateful night, the twins were separated, and raised as would a normal vampire or werewolf be raised; they were raised to hate each other.

Selena, the werewolf, and Kali, the vampire, were educated in the arts of their tribes until they both excelled as students. They grew powerful and strong, until they were named the leaders of their armies. The vampires and werewolves who raised them told them only that they were the daughters of the previous ruler, but not that, in fact, that previous ruler had married into the other race. So the two grew up knowing that they were special; princesses, almost. They just never could have imagined that not only were they a princess of their own tribe, but a princess of the enemy tribe as well.

And so it happened that years passed until humankind had reached a new and exciting era; the Renaissance. Selena and Kali were using this new time to their best advantage; developing a new, more open-minded outlook on the war, they busied themselves creating new weapons and battle techniques, and even going so far as to start gathering allies. And as the two prepared their armies, the date of the Blood Moon grew ever nearer, and the two great forces prepared to collide yet again.

“Crow,” Selena demanded angrily as she stomped through the tunnel, “What have you learned?”

“Nothing, milady.”

Selena turned on him, her glare reached his eyes in a cold fury, her claws biting into the flesh of her palm, “What did you say?” She demanded.

“Please milady don't… please… I know… one thing,” Crow begged, his golden eyes staring at Selena’s bloody palm trying stop her.

Releasing her fingers, and blood dripping to the dirt floor, Selena demanded, “Then what is it? Tell me now!”

“Please… your highness… I have heard rumors… but I do not find them at all cause for concern. I think that they are…”

“I do not care what you think they are!” Selena roared, “Just tell me!”

“Well… there are rumors… that Kali has made contact with the humans…”

“What?!” Selena reeled, banging her fist into the wall so that the whole tunnel shook and dust rained down from the roof.

Crow shrank against the wall, not wanting to go on but knowing that he must, “Your highness…”

Selena turned on him, grabbing him by the throat and lifting him off the ground, “Yes?” She demanded.

Pulling her off of him, Crow continued, “I have heard… these are rumors, mind… that not only has Kali made contact with them, but that… well, that some have well joined her cause.”

Selena’s hands fell limp at her sides, and she stared at Crow's now, frozen. “Milady…?” Crow asked tentatively.

But Selena raised her hand and whacked him across the face so that he went flying against the wall. Her movement was so quick and so fluent, that Crow had no time to see it coming. He lay stunned on the ground, his hand behind his aching head.

“Go,” Selena told him coldly, “Find out if these rumors are true. And kill every leech that gets in your way.”

Selena sat on her soft down bed in her underground room, staring at the fabric above her bed catching fallen dust from the ceiling. Her head pounded beneath her hands as she rubbed her temples. She hadn't meant to hurt Crow. She was only in a bad mood, a very bad mood at that. She remembered the look in his golden eyes, his fear unfolding before her...

All her life Selena had been taught to follow and give orders. Now as the Blood Moon was so close she feared that she would fail her people, most of all her father. Crow had always been her friend, no matter the pain he too had to suffer. He had always been her closest friend, her only true friend that cared for her because she wasn't just the heir to the throne.

Selena was afraid her head was going to burst beneath her palms. Then she heard it, the angelic song-like voice in her head. It spoke in the softest voice, one she couldn't hear beneath the pain. She screamed inwardly, bolted up from her bed and slammed her fists against the walls. The tunnel shook with great force, dust falling on her raven black hair. Selena let out a small grunt from the pain, she was unable to sleep from the stress of the upcoming Blood Moon. But because she couldn't sleep she had headaches she thought she would die from.

Finally, in a last attempt to stop the pain, she brought her head to the wall with great force. She didn't hear the loud bang that followed after from a tunnel collapsing. She didn't feel the warm ruby blood flowing down nose and chin. All Selena remembered before the crushing pain forced her into unconsciousness, was Crow's frightened eyes after she had hit him.

Kali sat, frozen, in the plush armchair in front of the fire. Looking about her in only mock interest, she noted the paintings done in pale, pastel colours of meadows and families. She saw the small table with the bottle of tokay set out with two glasses, one meant for her. And she saw the door, which opened as she watched it, letting enter a well built man dressed in a black suit with a golden chain from which hung a watch emerging from his pocket.

The man crossed the room and sat in the chair opposite Kali, emptying the tokay into the two glasses provided. He lifted the one meant for Kali towards her, but she reached out, took it, and set it back on the small table. The man nervously took a sip from his own cup.

Kali sat in silence, watching the man drink, and listening to his heart beat as it got progressively faster and faster. At last, the man lowered the glass from his mouth to be held between his two sweating hands.

"You have come here..." he began, but seemed unable to continue. Kali sighed.

"I have come here to warn you that there is a war taking place. A war so great, that it is utter stupidity that you and your entire race have not taken notice of it. And, unfortunately, I have come to ask for your help."

"My... help...?" the man stuttered, now visibly shaking.

Kali sighed. The human race was so fickle! They were good for nothing except food.

"I don't intend to let you fight. That would be just plain stupidity on my part. However, I was wondering if you could help us manufacture weapons. You see, the only thing that can kill a werewolf" (the man gulped at this word) "is silver. And my army needs to spend their time practicing for the war, not crafting silver. You do understand, I trust?"

The man took another shaky sip of his tokay, "I understand..."

Reign casually followed his target through the busy streets of some England city he cared nothing for. People shouted at him as he forcibly pushed his way through a mob protesting at a church. Reign didn't bother to stop or even acknowledge their angry shouts, he just followed his target from a distance. The wealthy Italian man he followed stumbled his way to a nearby house, his hands shook unsteadily as he reached for his key. Reign walked past him his sword hitting the man in the shin, "Watch it scum!"
Reign looked the man in the eye and began his act, " I'm sorry sir my sword seems a little loose."
At the set of words the mans eyes widened. His mouth opened and shut as he tried to find the words. Reign just smiled and walked a distance to a dark alley covered with unknown slime. He pressed his hand against the slick wall and continued to walk letting the smile cover his hand. As he continued he noticed that some boys looking to be about what appeared to be his age followed him through the alley. He quickened his pace to see if they're attention was focused on him. The young men quickened their pace as well. So, he thought, its to be an old fashion mugging. Reign turned to the boys as they approached, and as he had guessed two of them reached to grab his arms.He simply side-stepped them and focused his attention on another. He threw a punch at one that began to grab at his throat, the large brown haired boy flew back a few feet. And that was it. That was all the strength he could put in that blow, he was, as many had told him, weak. But to comparison of the boys he was a god. The truth being he was a werewolf. The two boys that had grabbed at his arms threw their bodies at him in attempt to knock him to the ground. Reign simply ducked and rolled under them, as if they were in slow motion. He grabbed at one of the boys tunics and threw him to the wall. Reign kick the other from behind slamming his head into the wall of slime. He heard the other boy get up from where he had left him lying after his punch. Reign saw a flash of steel as the brown haired boy had drawn a knife. He threw himself at the wall, using enough kick to throw himself off the wall and behind the boy. The boy hadn't even had time to turn around before Reign had hit a pressure point behind the neck knocking him unconscious. The other boys looked at their brown haired leader as he hit the floor. Reign took a step forward, the others took a step back. Reign stepped to the side as the boys ran out the ally in a fright. A crystal voice rang as the boys ran, " You could have killed them."
Reign turned to the messy haired werewolf, " Boys will be boys master Crow."
Crow smiled his special smile. He looked at him with his golden crow like eyes the reason for his name. Then he noticed a bruise on the side of his head the size of a fist, and his lip was cut and swollen. Crow came closer, " Did you finish the job?"
Reign looked at him with his normal bored look and replied, " Would I be here if i didn't?"
The black hair boy looking to be no older than him smiled as usual, he was always smiling. Reign looked away from his smile, " So why give this job to a lowly halfmoon?"
Crow turned to him again, " No matter your statics Reign you're the fastest one of all. If you didn't want to be seen then it would seem as if you became invisible. And you could lie to mistress Selena without her knowing."
Reign gave a small nod, " The job is done. Can I leave now?"
Crow nodded as he noticed more halfmoons coming down the ally to report. Reign continued to walk down the dark ally as the almost full moon rose higher. Three more months till the Blood Moon. Three more months till his death.

"So what... exactly... do you want me to do?" the Prime Minister asked.

"Well isn't it obvious?" Kali replied, leaning in, "You must rally all the black smiths in your country, and tell them to craft every silver weapon they can think of. Swords, daggers, even silver tipped arrows, it really doesn't matter."

"You don't expect them... to listen... to me...? And I'll need to... discuss this with the King and..."

"No!" Kali interrupted, "No one else needs to be involved! If the black smiths don't listen to you, take note of their names and my followers will dispatch them. I'm sorry, Prime Minister, but you must understand; if word gets out there will be a riot against all inhuman creatures, even those of my own kind. And we wouldn't want that, now, would we?"

"N-no, Your Highness... of course not..." the Prime Minister said, gazing forlornly at his empty glass.

Sighing, Kali reached for her own, still-full glass and traded it for the Prime Minister's empty one, replacing his on the table. "And remember, Prime Minister, if things don't go to plan... I would not feel any regret in dispatching you as well."

The Prime Minister visibly shook from head to toe. He took a long swig of the tokay glass, draining it in one go.

"I will do as you ask," he told her.
