*blink* i wanna know everyones opinions on the darkness element, the way it should be. I personally can't decide, so i think i should (maybe) go with what the majority wants, to be fair. So, do you think the darkness element is A)The evilish type of darkness: death, pain, evil, and all that and a bucket of puppy's. (ignore the puppy part). or B) The darkness element as is: shadows, distigration, (whatever else is somewhat related to that). (Sorry for making a weird poll) >.>

Erm...
I really think more of the shadowy type stuff.
And maybe pain. But all of the elements can create pain, so...
Like, (as far as I know) Light can't bring people back to life, so Dark shouldn't be able to kill them.

I think that darkness element is the manipulation of shadows and the darkness. Like, creating portals through shadows, creating creatures of shadow, solidifying shadow, using it like a solid object that can wrap around a person's ankles and drag them into them. That kinda thing. Not disintegration, that's more along the lines of molecular disassembling, etc.
I also think of becoming a shadow, and being able to become blended into shadows around you. I associate darkness to shadows, night, and stealth. So... -shrugs-
@ Sumi: ... I can remove oxygen from the area, and kill people that way, or do those kinds of things, so shouldn't shadows be able to cover someone's mouth like a gag and suffocate them? Though I agree with light not being able to bring people back to life. XP

Aaaanyways, Gler agrees with everyone else. Darkness should be more elemental, and less evil-based. You don't see Light users deriving their power from a crucifix, now do you?
Also, no dissentigrat-y-ness or insta-death. >.o

I like Silent's description of it lots. I don't even really mind the disintegration part so long as you can develop it well. No just saying *Disintegrates Puzzles, mwahahahahaa!*
I don't really associate it with pain. Everything causes pain, and all the elements can cause death (So long as the opponent allows).
I'd even say like the dementors in Harry Potter. Maybe you can encourage fear and cowardice, and suck the happiness out of people.

The darkness element could be both.
Darkness can be described as many things, the darkness within ourselves and the darkness such as night and shadows.
In both those senses both A and B make sense. However maybe how we use them determines whether we are good or evil?
