Team Tournament
This tournament will run for one round. That means, after all battles end, this elimination tournament ends. The point of this part of the exam is to lower the number of participants. Those who do not advance through the Team Tournament will likely not be made Chuunins by their village.
Now, the battles are orchestrated as such: only one member from each team is allowed to fight at a time. Each fight is made up of three battles. Another member cannot be tagged in until the end of the fight. A fight is declared over by the designated judge when a fighter is A) unable to fight, B) loses conscious, C) surrenders, or D) goes out of bounds. The Out of bounds will be told to the participants before their match, as each team battle will take place in different areas.
All matches will have one week before they are closed, assuming they do not end before then. Any match that doesn’t have a chosen victor by then will be reviewed by the judge panel before they make their final decision of who advances. In a fight, both active fighters can only make a max of 17 posts. That means, if not one of them loses before then, the fight is over, and both must tag out, as long as they have a member who can fight. If they are the only ones capable of fighting, then they remain on the field and continue until the entire match is over.
Before every match, all three members of the team must be present. If not, then that team is disqualified.
So in summary:
Each match will have a max of three fights.
In each match, each fighter can make a max of 17 posts before the referee ends the fight. If there is no definite victor, the winner is not declared until the end of the match when the judges review it.
Team members can tag only after the end of a match.
If a referee sees that a fighter is no longer able to fight or is in great danger of being killed due to a injury of sorts, they will stop the fight immediately.
All matches have one week to finish. If they do not by then, judges will declare the winning team.
Team Assist
There is a way, however, to gain assistance from your teammates, as long as you listen to the following rules:
If a team member feels like they need to assist their teammate, or if the active fighter calls for this assistance, the member who is going to make the assist must make a post immediately stating their about to make an assistance, usually posting in big letters “ASSISTING” works well. Once the assisting member says this, he/she then posts again with their post. In this post, the member is allowed to perform their action. However, the assisting member only has one post before they must return to the sidelines. Which then, the team cannot make a Team Assist again for six of their teammate’s posts. If they do, the current fight is declared a DQ to the active fighter, giving the other team one win within the two out of three win limit.
When the team assister makes his/her post, the fighter who was supposed to go next in the post order will make their reaction. The assister returns to the sidelines once their turn in the post order comes up. If they are in some opposing action, such as being attacked, then they can defend however they wish, but must return to the sidelines right after. Remaining in the ring willingly will count as a DQ for the current fight.
Final Tournament
After the Team Tournament, the final part of the exam takes place one week after the Team Tournament has ended. This is when the fighters are able to showcase their skills to their leaders to see if they have what it takes to become Chuunin. No matter if a fighter wins or loses, at the end of this tournament, those promoted to Chuunin will be announced. Being a Chuunin depends on the fighter’s performance, intellect, and skill in battle. Just because a fighter uses a powerful skill over and over doesn’t mean they’ll be likely to become Chuunin. More likely the fighter who can fend against such attacks with tactics will become Chuunin.
However, in the tournament, all Genins are for themselves. That means, who may have been your teammate in the last tournament is now your opponent in this one. Though all fights are randomly chosen, so they may or may not have the luck of facing their own team member.
In each fight, each fighter can make only a max of 21 posts. Each round of this tournament will last for one week each. All fights will take place on the same terrain, though in different arenas. If no one loses before their post limit or time limit is reached, the judges will declare the winner.
