-/ ATTN: This is a thread for RikProwley, and any of his various personalities, and Sarabi Adruennam and any of her various personalities. Thank you. /-

Sarabi had recently had a house built herself a house in peaceful East Barton. It was a romantic two-story victorian house, at least from the outside. Once entered it was incredibly ultra-modern. There were buttons everywhere that operated various things: the doors, faucets, phones, etc. The decor was very simplistic and artsy, minimalism is the best way to express Sarabi's lifestyle.

Sarabi sat quietly in her study pondering over limb placement in a sketch she was currently working on for an upcomming painting. Hitomi stood on the desk beside her humming quietly to herself. Hitomi wore a wash cloth, with a hole in the center for her head, as a makeshift artist smock. She was painting a lovely picture on a tiny 4x5 canvas, what it was exactly was anyone's guess. Maybe Hitomi was an abstract artist...

The sound of the doorbell interrupted the peaceful scene, followed immediately by a very muffled knock that went: "thud knock knock thud." A strange knock sequence to be sure.

Sarabi jerked at bit at the sound of the doorbell and then the knocking. She signed as she erased a line, "I guess i''ll gave to come back to that in a second. Hitomi too had stopped painting and was out of her smock and halfway down the hallway before Sarabi even stood up, "Hitomi! Get back here! You don''t know who''s at the door!" Hitomi halted in mid-air and fluttered there waiting for Sarabi to show up, "You are SO SLOW!" She fluttered down onto Sarabi''s shoulder as she walked by and waited to get to the door. Sarabi quirked an eyebrow, "I wasn''t expecting anyone, were you?" She asked Hitomi who shook her head. "Hmm" She leaned forward and looked through the peephole trying to figure out who it was that was visiting.

On the other side of the door stood a short person wearing a heavy white overcoat with a blue scarf wrapped twice around his head and a dark blue hat perched on top. Only the round rims and white lenses of his specacles were visible from beneath the shadow of his hat. The thing material of the scarf trembled with each noisy breath, audible as a faint hissing even though the door. His hands were shoved deep into his coat pockets and he seemed to be bouncing slightly as he stood.

This little person would have been in odd sight in December, but his presence was made all the odder by the fact it happened to be the beginning of August. His coat was practically blinding in the light of the hot, bright summer sun.

Sarabi pulled back from the peep hole and said, "Well now that's just odd." She checked the thermometer by the door and saw that it registered at nearly 86 degrees. "Oh dear. That man must be nearly melting!" She unlocked the door and pulled it open a bit. Not quite wide enough to be inviting him in, but wide enough to talk comfortably. "Um..Yes?" Hitomi peered out the door from around Sarabi's neck, trying her best to sustain a giggle.

The faint bouncing stopped and the little man looked up at Sarabi. "Delivery," he said simply, his voice reminiscent of a mechanical buzz. His head tipped to the right.

"Um...I didn't order anything I can remember." She sighed heavily before looking at Hitomi, "Hitomi, dear, were you watching QVC again? Even after I told you not to." Hitomi looked genuinely hurt and said, "NO! You told me not to and so I didn't!" Then a bit more quietly, "Especially when there is nothing worth ordering." Sarabi closed her eyes and shook her head slightly before looking back and the quirky delivery man, "I'm sorry sir, but I can't accept it. I've told her to stop ordering things off the televsion." Sarabi then backed away from the door and started to close it gently.

Instantly, the knock came again. "Thud knock knock thud!" It sounded a little bit faster this time.

Now usually when you shut the door in someone's face they tended to leave. Apparently this guy didn't want to leave. Did he have something expensive from TV?? "Hitomi, just what did you order?!" She pulled the door open, "Is this a C.O.D. order? I'll have to go get my checkbook I suppose."

Surprisingly, his hands were already back in his coat pockets by the time Sarabi opened the door. It looked at if he had not removed them. How exactly he had accomplished that peculiar knocking sound was even mroe of a mystery now.

The little man made a hiccuping noise and jumped accordingly. One of his hands emerged from his pocket with a clear plastic bag. "Delivery," he said again, and then sneezed.

When he sneezed, his whole body jerked, from his head on down to his toes. The small object in the bag bounced up and down. Closer inspection revealed it to be some sort of a plant objecy, white in color and shaped like a miniature cornucopia. It was hard and gnarled with delicate little black petals wrapped around its rim. The bag shook around as the little man pulled his other hand out of his other pocket and reached up to rub at his reddened nose.

Sarabi peers at the flower quizzically. "Well..now that's very romantic, but don't flowers usually come in a bouquet? And in a vase instead of a...plastic bag." This was indeed one of the more queer visitors she'd had since she'd built the new house. She reached out to take the bag hesitantly. "But um..thanks?"

"I had to put her in a bag," said the little man. "She made me sneeze." And apparently still caused him to sneeze despite being inside the plastic bag. He finished rubbing at his nose and stuck his hands back in his pockets. "If you have any further questions, please direct them to the regional headquarters in Barton." He nodded quickly.

"Excuse me sir. But did you just refer to this flower as a 'her'?" Usually flowers didn't come with predetermined sexes. Once he mentioned the 'headquarters', however, it all seemed to click. "Are you from the Fleet? Is this a Feien bloom?" She said slowly. Her eyes brightened happily as the thought of such a prospect. She examined the little bloom in the baggie and quickly removed it, holding it gently in her palm.

"Don't--" the man protested, then erupted into a pair of loud sneezes that nearly sent him tumbling into the yard. He reached up tot rub at his nose and the sneezing seemed to clear but then he sneezed yet again. "I'm Dr. M. You are correct." He looked as if he might sneeze a fourth time, but the urge subsided. "Good day," he finished, bobbing his head and turning away.

She gently twirled back into her house the door closing shut behind herself with a contented sigh. Hitomi had been oddly quiet while the man was here. Which was yet another oddity that had occured during his visit. But she suddenly broke into full conversation once he was gone, "He called it a her! That means I'm going to have a sister! That's very exciting. And it's black and white, which means that she will be black and white too right? OoO! And there are little red speckles! She'll have red parts too! I like red. It's like a dark pink!" While she was talking she fluttered down in front of the hand that held the bloom and flew backwards while Sarabi walked forward towards the kitchen. "Ooo! This is so exciting!" Which indeed it was. Sarabi had been looking forward to one day getting a little brother or sister for Hitomi. She had kept a drawer next to Hitomi's empty for just such a cause. Hopefully this new one would appriciate Sarabi's home just as much as Hitomi had.
