I don't have trouble multiplying large numbers, but I do have trouble clicking links that take large chunks out of my university-alotted internet quota.

That was cool. But wouldn't it have just been easier to get a real calculator? It just seems to take less time. Although, if you're really lazy and don't want to get up, using that method seems like the one for you.

I've actually always found that multiplying large numbers is easy on paper, so I only use calculators if I have to.
(And I'm not even that great at maths - I mean, I'm more than normally good, but not brilliant.)

You know, for the longest time I didn't have a calculator because my Mom thought that it was cheating and that I wasn't learning that way. TT.TT I got my first calculator for Grade 9.

Finora Lupin You know, for the longest time I didn't have a calculator because my Mom thought that it was cheating and that I wasn't learning that way. TT.TT I got my first calculator for Grade 9. Me too, but I also thought it was cheating. After getting one I only used it when I had to: when it took me too long to work it out in my head, and later on, when it was impossible to work out in my head.

I didn't start using calculators until 7th or 8th grade, and then, only rarely.
I used calculators all the time in high school.
Then I got to college and rarely used 'em.
Now I've just stopped doing arithmetic altogether.

They were part of the booklist when I was in primary school, so I had one, but didn't use it very much.
In secondary school, I used them for calculating things like sines and cosines that I couldn't always do in my head, and later on for graphing and playing the occasional game in class. (I love my TI-84 Plus!)
Now, I rarely use them. We don't do much maths in med school, and most of what we do have to do can be done either in your head or on paper.

I used to play games on my calculator too! I Think I had the same model, Shadow.

I can't play games on mine. That's so sad. I can write messages to people, though! I remember in Grade 11 Math, me and Diana used to send each other the most craziest messages back and forth on the calculators. It was funny.

I used to write with mine, too! And make patterns on the screen, and write programs so that I never had to memorise formulas...

Which is almost sort of kind of like Visual Basic, the only programming language I ever actually learned (and even then only partially).
