"Amaroq, will you quit being a smartass and just get over here?" Princess huffed, tail switching back and forth around her hindquarters. Her son was, as usual, being his difficult self. Why couldn't he have inherited the more agreeable nature of his sire and siblings?
"As soon as you put your hoof down...what do you think I am, stupid?" Amaroq kept well back from his dam, eyeing the mentioned hoof with wariness. She wasn't afraid to use the weapons she had when she was in a temper, and he felt no desire to end up with a bruise or two.
The older mare's eyes narrowed. "That's not the point! If you weren't such...argh, why do I bother?" Stomping her hoof down, she glared at her son.

The dark stallion crested te hill where he could hear Princess' voice beguin to escliate. "hey now, what is going on here?" Waya asked as he looked between the mare and their son. It was true the stallion could be difficult, but he rather saw that as Princess' motherly nature smothering the boy and not giving him enough room to be the boy he was ment to be. He was certainly more wild than the others. "Amaroq, are you getting your mother in a fit again?" He asked, a laugh edged on his voice though he new better than to let his amusement show in front of princess.
Kajika yawned softly as he skipped up behind his father and plopped down on the grass by his fathers side. "Why do I have to come? I wanted to sleep in the shaaaaaaaade"

"You know I don't mean to dad," Amaroq replied, keeping a wary eye on his dam. "Half the time I don't even know what it was I said..." His tail twitched, knowing that Princess wouldn't believe that. She usually didn't. "Hey Kaji."
Princess flickered her ears forward at the sound of her mate's voice and she stepped closer to him before they laid back again. "I guess that could be true, if being a smartass is that natural." An ear cocked towards Kajika and she quirked a brow. "By all means...though I wouldn't guarantee that sleep would be undisturbed." She smirked.

Waya rested his crystal blue eyes on his dark son and chuckled. "Well then maybe you should consider your words before you speak sometimes. Even then it may not be what you say but the tone in your voice, or your body language. Your mother is very good on picking up on things like that." He took a step towards his son and leaned down to whisper in his ear so Princess wouldnt hear. "and sometimes she just over reacts."
He leaned back and winked at his son with a good natured smile. Amaroq was Waya's favorit though he would scarcely admit that to anyone else, He loved all his children but this one was the only one of the three that really looked like him, and with that some of his mannerizims where astoundingly like Waya's own.
Kajika rolled his eyes at his mother and placed his head on the grass. "In other words, No I cant." He pouted softly and sighed, his tail flicking softy as he watched his dad move over to talk with his brother. Kajika got to his feet and though he was still sour that he couldnt sleep he tucked his head and made a run for his brother. If he couldnt sleep he was going to play, and heaven help any that tried to stop him now.

"Yeah...I probably should think about that," Amaroq agreed, hiding a conspiratorial grin as his eyes flicked back to his mother. His amusement was short lived though, as something rammed into his side and nearly sent him flying. As it was, he let out a sharp snort as he staggered. "What the hell...Kaaaj!" Laying his ears back in mock-aggression, he jumped forward to pull on his brother's mane.
Princess shook her head and laughed a little as she watched her sons start a wrestling match. "Well, that should keep them off our necks for a bit," she commented, nipping at Waya's braids. "Although I wonder where Miri's gotten herself off to...hopefully she didn't get herself lost."

Waya chuckled softly and looked over at Princess with a grin. "I'm sure she's fine. After all she is your daughter." he said as his blue eye turned back to watch the colts duel it out in a seething mass of legs and black and brown body parts.
Kaj laughed full heartedly as he knocked his brother to the ground, he expected much more of retaliation other than just his mane getting pulled. The colt kicked his hind legs and reared up. "What are you gonna do about it?" he laughed at his brother.

Amaroq grunted as he hit the ground, legs scrabbling to gain purchase and haul him back up to his feet. "I'll do...this!" He barely waited until his footing was sure before ramming into Kajika with his shoulder, trying to hook one of his legs around his brother's and pull him off-balance. "How's that, huh, huh?" He laughed cockily, ears tilted jauntily forward as he pulled.
"Yeeees...but I would like to know how she is doing. A mother's worry, I guess." Princess shrugged and grinned at Waya teasingly. "After all, she's your daughter too."

Kajika grined playfully and rooted himself to the ground, preparing for the attack. Still, the force of his brothers shoulder smacking into him set him off balance and he stumbled to the side a little. With a wild grin and a playful whinney the stallion was up on his hind legs, front feet franticly swiping through the air before him.
"Yes, She is my daughter to..and because of that I know she can care for herself. " He smiled at Princess. "You worry to much, they are strong foals."

"You'll pay for that!" Amaroq bugled indignantly as Kajika's hooves struck against his chest. Rearing up himself, he lashed out with equal vigor. His mane tossed back and tail flagged, he was a striking sight.
"Yes, they are." Princess nuzzled her mate, then smiled a little as she watched her sons take out their youthful energy on each other. "Nice to see them find a good outlet. Sometimes Amaroq gets so stir-crazy it drives me crazy."

Waya let a happy smile fall upon his dark features. He rested her head contently against the warmth of the chocolate brown of princess' velvet neck. Her scent filled him, wild and spicy as ginger as he watched their children play. The wild stallion was content in this moment, his heart stilled. Time seemed to pass slowly as he leaned against her, feeling her own heart beat match with his. Contentment and delight. "mmhmm."
Kajika laughed as his brother reared before him, mimicing his attack. He shook his head and tried to hop away out of striking range, but his little legs failed him. The colt took a strike against the shoulder, sore and bruised he grined devilishly, just another thing to pay his bother back for."You're gonna pay for that!" he exclaimed.

Amaroq laughed as his brother yelled the same thing he had only moments before, dancing forward to snap at Kajika's shoulder. "Payback's a #$&@!, huh Kaj?" He smirked and tossed his head, mane flickering about.
If Princess were a cat, she would have purred right about now, as the worries and duties of a mother and alpha seemed to fade into insignificance. It was a momentary relief, true, but it was one only her shadowy mate could provide. "So...how's Kaji been?"
