If you have any history in literary and mind curling games I'm sure many of you have played some variation of the "Write a story paragraph by paragraph" thing.
Since if you're part of this guild you must have some fascination with writing, I'm going to up it.
We are going to write... something, chapter by chapter.
If it crashes and burns I'll retreat into my nook of perpetual failure, but if it succeeds, I want to see what it turns in to.
Setting
A giant city, Lonfeir, with three layers. The top layer is mostly professional buildings for kings and queens and the leaders of the city. The only public building here is the Church.
The middle layer is most of the permanent housing and parks and the like. In the center of this layer there is a giant fountain, and much wide space around it with two main streets going out until they reaches the hills. Festivals are held here because theres the most free space.
The base layer is full of travelers, performers, traders, farmers, fishermen and so on. people who live here are usually considered poor, or of low class, but many work here. In the inns and taverns and market.
The whole city has no stones underfoot. The whole city is green with grass and moss, meaning most of the people who live in it go barefoot. The stones in the city are white, and used for low walls and buildings like the church. The houses are of all variety. The weather here is mild, snow only coming in shallow pants. On the outside of the city there are the exiled, magic users, wild beasts, and some say that the beasts are conscious like people. The grass outside on the hilly landscape is sparse and dry with little gnarled stricken shrubs.
Outside the city is anything you want. I'm just giving you somewhere to start.

Here are some rules:
º I've read books that have chapters as short as three paragraphs, and as long as 50 pages. Because I want this to be an example of differences in writing, and in vision, base "chapter" on what you feel is right. State the chapter number before each post.
º Stick to the story! Read previous posts carefully, and be sure what you're posting doesn't conflict with anything before you.
º As most people I know seem to enjoy a good fantasy story, I think thats what I'll try to aim this towards, so keep that in mind.
º It is a story. Try not to trod about in circles forever while nothing is happening.
º Third person omnicent (sp?) is the point of view. If you don't know what that means, consult Google. Or J.K. Rowling.
º I'm sure more will be added, but for now, LET THE GAME BEGIN!
