Still smiling, she nodded. "Best friends, for sure." Apparently both were oblivious to the quiet, subtle feelings that they had for each other. Anyone watching for afar would think that they were much more than friends. That was something they would have to figure out for themselves though.
After a while of just sitting there together, Malaika looked out over the horizon. The sun was beginning to set, bathing the pair in a beautiful orange glow. "I know a perfect spot where we can watch the sunset together. Do you want to come?" Saying that, she got to her feet and started walking, pausing only to look over her shoulder and smile at Kimba.

The male blinked and then smiled happily as she spoke of a spot to watch the sunset, his tail twitching happily as if he were a canine before he followed after her with a clumsy, rolling gait. He moved to her side and looked deeply into her eyes, his smile threatening to hurt his cheeks as he walked with her.
This was truly the start of a beautiful friendship...and maybe something more...
