I have books from Very influencial christian authors that do not say it is wrong, they say it is normal, and it pretty much stops you from having pre marital sex, and not to go on a guilt trip from doing it...... wow i share views with influential christian authors? whoda thunkit? yes you do lazarus and share many views with me, and to victum soul, focus on the family's guy said it dr. dobson, and as for the bible it leaves that open ended, sexual immorality pertains to alot of things, and as abuse? I call that too silly to talk about.

I just don't think its ever a good idea, as others have said, I think it falls under sexual immorality. Not to mention someone very dear to me started doing it, and was hooked for years. It also became not enough to satisfy, and it soon led him into deeper sexual sin including porn, dating shallowly and nearly losing his virginity to that girl.
It's just not something that should be expirimented with, in my opinion.

Hmmm... Probobly not the best topic for my first post... oh well. This is MY opinion.
It is difficult to masturbate without thoughts of... well, it depends, but not good thoughts. It leads you down wrong paths. It lingers on the edge of something more immoral... And it is a form of sex. So. If it is sex, you're not having sex with your married partner, which is how God intended it. But, even is you dissagree, and say it's not a sin, then what about the paths it offers? The things it leads to? The Bible says to run from evil. If it leads to evil things, don't do it. And about what's being said, about gays and lesbians - listen to me for a moment.
I had... issues, lets say, with gayness... and... porn, and all kinds of stuff for a few years. It drove me mad, because I knew the Torah expressly forbid it, in plain languadge, no loopholes at all. I wondred why these feelings of lust for other boys existed in me. And then I read this artical in a Christian magazine about this guy who had this same problem, and he changed his thoughts. A psycologist told him that gay boys (and lesbian girls) have often been regected by their peers of the same sex, or they have not recieved the love they need from their parent of the same gender, father for gays, mother for lesbians, and when they hit puberty, that void is erotosized. That they need to recognise that, and seek friendship and axceptance from their own gender, not sexual love. and that they need to fall in love with God more, and they will change.

It's only a sin if you get addicted to it. The real sin is what goes through your head WHILE you do it. (so says my youth pastor...yes, he did a whole lesson on wanking it.)

NONE of my pastors or leaders of any groups i've gone to (not even our very brave campus minister) has addressed the topic... at all.
