Righteous Fury:Week 2-Demise OTK
Thanks to Kotoren for picking this weeks deck theme.
If any of you use YVD you'll have noticed a Demise OTK somewhere. Today i'm going to look at one that i feel has a high chance of success compared to other builds
The Demise OTK
3 Demise King of Armageddon:BOOM! Demise defenitely brings the armageddon. And with Advanced Ritual Art he takes alot of the downside of being a ritual away. His effect(though costly) is immensely useful and can allow for HUGE advantage swings.
3 Doom Dozer:2800, easy summon and level 8? 3 please! Doom Dozer is the second key card to the deck. Advanced Ritual Art drops 2 insects for me and then Doom Dozer comes out and can either be morphed into Cyber Twin or simply deal that last bit of damage.
3 Insect Knight:Vanilla 1900 Insect. Use=Doom Dozer food.
3 Neo Bug:Same as Insect Knight, Normal monsters are bad but necessary.
3 Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands:Got Demise? Get Art. Got Art? Get Demise. This card alleviates further the large weak point of the ritual monsters need for 2 specific cards by allowing you to search for them from the deck.
1 Morphing Jar:Bad hand? Jar gets you a whole new hand if you've got a bad one or even if you have no hand left. Defenitely Useful here.
Total Monsters:16 For an OTK 15-18 is the usual number of monsters used due to the enormous amount of space you need for all the spells that make this deck run smoothly.
3 Megamorph biggrin emise makes you pay a hefty price and Megamorph rewards you for it. 4800 with Demise or 5600 with Doom Dozer or Cyber Twin can easily end the game and is the key card to our OTK.
2 Metamorphosis biggrin emise goes BOOM and morph lets you pull Cyber Twin to attack for game. OR beter yet drop a free Doom Dozer and morph for 2800 times 2 plus 2400 for Demise. Thanks Konami for giving me back Cyber Twin.
1 Heavy Storm:No Demise but you've got Mega and Dozer? Heavy Storm stops annoying traps you might be afariad of or better yet stall or burn cards that might otherwise finish you.
2 Nightmare's Steel Cage:No Attacks for 2 turns means more time to build up the cards for the OTK. And when we finaly drop Demise he can easily get rid of it allowing us to NOT waste a deck space on Trunade.
1 Swords of Revealing Light:Same as Steel Cage only now its 3 turns of stall AND I can keep attacking if they have no monsters. The PREFECT card to have if they foil you attempt at the OTK.
3 Advanced Ritual Art:Making rituals only a -2 instead of a -3+ is amazing and allowing me to fuel up my Dozer even quicker is even better. Its one of the necessary peices for the win here so naturally I run 3.
1 Snatch Steal:Can't seem to get off the OTK? Opponent got an annoying monster out you dont want to mess with? Snatch Steal lets you take your opponents strengths and make them weaknesses. And they have to waste removal on Snatch which saves some of your other stall cards.
1 Card Destruction:Bad Hand? Wait, didn't I say that once? Card Destruction is like a little Morphing Jar in spell form that gives this deck added speed.
3 Magical Mallet:Missing one peice of the OTK but dont want to drop your whole hand with Card D? Mallet gives any OTK deck the ability to trade in a card thats useless at that second for one thats probally far better.
1 Premature Burial:No Megamorph or Metamorphosis? Opponent kill your Demise? Premature Burial lets me get back my power creatures when I need to. Heck I can always just revive a Manju to search my deck more.
3 Card Trader:STON made this deck. Card Trader is like a slower but overall more useful Mallet. It makes draws for this entire deck more stable and turns bad draws or hands into(hopefully)beter situations. And in the end all that matters here is speed.
Total Spells:21 Obviously very high but I was shy to have alot of traps purely because if i had too many Decree could mess me up. Also alot of spells make the deck run faster because I don't have to wait a turn to use them.
3 Threatening Roar:No Battle Phase means no Attacking for my opponent. And since the goal of this game is to get my opponents LP to 0 i think that thats a good thing. Its added stall that buys me time to mill my deck for the OTK.
1 Mirror Force:Opponent managing to beat you down? Mirror Force allows you to create a HUGE advantage swing AND just having it in your deck will make opponents skittish around your facedowns.
Total Traps:4 This deck(like DDT) relies all on speed because if you go too slowly the opponent will gain too much momentum. A low number of traps(which are slower than spells) lets me keep the deck fast and still have some defence.
Total Cards:41 A bit over the ideal 40 but all the cards we run allow for so much thinnning and speed that 1 card more will hardly be an issue.
I Hope you enjoyed this review AND learned something from it.
Next Week in Righteous Fury biggrin ark World Devastation...Can they take the top?
