Sometimes he just had to get away. Who cared what Leu said? He wasn't, after all, a member of that pack. More... a tag-a-long. Which was, as far as he was concerned, the best way to play things. Don't join... just make connections. Rem's mouth cracked in a lazy grin. At least the pup was getting older, hopefully she wouldn't need to be babysat so much anymore. Uuugh. He HATED that job. When - no IF - he ever had pups, he would watch over them, sure. But when they weren't his own? Naw. No way. He wouldn't be roped into THAT job again, that was for sure.

The male loped through the forest easily along a well-known path. So well known, in fact, that it was unlikely that any prey would be lurking nearby. Rem wasn't out hunting, though - he'd already eaten with the pup last night. Today was just a day out. Too bad it had to be so gloomy out though. Rain misted down through the trees and coated everything in a glittering veil of tiny droplets.

Pretty, but rather annoying. Rem scowled as he jerked his paw up out of the mud.

"Too bad, too bad." He needed something to cheer him up. Something to make this trek worthwhile... somethingsomething...

The wind shifted, rushing past his face. His grin returned and he broke off from the path, heading towards the scent of wolf nearby.

Miserable. That would best describe the lonely femme as she trudged through the softened dirt and mud. Her coat was wet from the mist that filtered through the trees and that itself made her even more miserable than the soft ground. Not to mention a small headache was forming in the back of her head which just made everything seem worse. So, with ears down and tail hanging behind her in an almost defeated fashion she slipped through the unknown territory in search of what she wasn't sure.
After visitng the Outrider pack, Azmaria had been a bit more confused about what her headaches were meaning. The wolves there seemed unwanting to dive into the topic, especially the blind mate of the Alpha. It was all quite strange and uneasy even. So instead of hanging around and growing even more nervous, Az had decided to venture out, finally, into the vast un known world. So far though, she was unimpressed with what she had seen.

A pine tree with low lying branches came into view. With the prospect of maybe having found a dry spot to rest, Azmaria hurried over to the tree. She slipped under the boughs and was pleased to find the ground quite dry . Relieved to have found a place to rest, the young female lowered her rear end to the ground as she gazed out from under her tree. It was a miserable sight really. She was truly beginning to miss the sand and the surf that made up a portion of her home. Azmaria missed the sound of the waves and the sea birds that noisily woke her every morning. She'd be happy to see one of those pesky birds now.

Nose to the air, Rem sniffed and tilted his head from side to side. His gaze flowed past the pine and its vistor at first, not noticing the brown female. Two-toned eyes flitted back to the tree and he managed to pick out the girl from her dark surroundings.

Man, sometimes he wished HE was patterend like that - maybe he could sneak around during the summer better. Ah well.

"You alright, love?" The male padded fowards, a concerned look pasted on his normally jovial face. She looked the worse for wear! The weather wasn't THAT bad. "You look like you've been through hell and back."

Rem ducked under the sweet-smelling pine branches and settled down a little ways away from the dejected female. At least it was -somewhat- warm and dry beneath these branches. His pale coat was plastered to his sides and splattered with mud and grime from his trip. Grimacing, he set to work picking out burrs and cleaning the bandages on his right leg. What a pain.

Azmaria hadn't been looking when the other wolf had ventured into sight. In fact, she had been busy plucking off some annoying burrs and other pieces of plants that had managed to stick to her during her travel. Amazing how even wet, the bothersome things managed to make their way onto her fur. As the stranger neared and spoke to her she looked up sharply, ears against her head in uncertainty.

She watched as he ducked under the low lying branch, unsure what to say or do until she realize that he had already asked her a question which she had yet to answer. "I am fine."" She answered carefully. What exactly was this wolf gettng at and why would he just sidle on up next to her under the branch? Surely not all loner wolves do this...do they? Well, truth-be-told, she wasn't sure since this was the first lone wolf she had met. Az would have expected a pack member to just make himself at hom ein her presence but a complete stranger?

She watched as the male began plucking off his own nusciences from hsi fur and...bandages? Now that was an odd thing to see. She watched as he plucked off pieces of plants and dirt and began cleaning the white cloth wrapped around his leg. She dare not say anything though. The last hting she wanted was to tick a stranger off.

A quiet laugh threatened to rise up in his chest, but he quelled it and allowed a smile to suffice. Everyone was so jumpy! Were the inhabitants of these woods really as scary as all that? Sure, Wren was a bit of a b***h, and Leu wasn't anything to take lightly... but all in all, it wasn't anything a competant wolf couldn't handle (or avoid).

"That's good to hear, love. Fine is better than bad." He wagged his tail slightly and strived to show her that he meant no harm. Ears forward, tail wagging, body relaxed... looks good. Cocking his head to the side, he studied her weary frame.

"You beed travelin' far?" To be honest, she looked the worse for wear. Granted, he probably didn't look wonderful either. Rem glanced ruefully at his muddy belly and legs. Summer would be better - no more muck and rain all the time. High and dry, hot and wonderful! That's how he liked it.

Not to mention summer nights - they were always entertaining.

Azmaria watched the stranger carefully but her own posture began to relax as the males did. She was beginning to sense he didn't mean her any harm though her headache didn't lessen at all with his close proximity but headaches were something she was beginning to cope with. Whatever was causing the pains wasn't going away but the aches were lessening with each individual she came into contact with.

"Yes." She answered before the last bit of caution left her voice and stance. She heaved a sigh and allowed her body to relieve the muscles before continuing. "Yes, I've traveled from the shoreline. It's quite a distance from here. And...as you can tell, I am not use to being on my own."

Curling her tail around her back legs as she sat there, Az looked out from under the pine branch to the world beyond. How she missed the smell of the ocean and the sound of the waves. Even the sound of the breaking ice on the shore would be a wonderful thing to hear at this point. Oh yes, Azmaria was certainly homesick but she couldn't turn away now. She needed to find out what really laid beyond her grandfather's and Phib's packlands. Besides being around so many packmembers would send her poor head in a whirl of pain.
