Amoy cried, as he was doing a lot of lately, as he stumbled after his sister. He wasn't blind, though someone might have easily made that assumption. Really, it was only because his eyes were watering, and the tears messed with his vision. And he was only crying because his mother had called him useless, again, and had bit him hard on the leg. He hadn't intended to break the bone, as she easily could have, but it still severely hurt. He even had a limp.
"Sister, slow down!" he whined. Mother hated him and liked Kraken, somewhat, and so she got off scot-free. "My leg hurts," he mumbled. "I can't keep up."
And that was his worst fear: being alone. Although he knew Kraken cared about him somewhat, she was enough like their mother where she could easily get fed up with him and leave.
Why couldn't he just die already or find some place better to be? He wished he could live with someone else. And it may have been coincidence, or maybe someone answering his wish, but it seemed things were definately about to change in about...three minutes.

Growling in a puppy-voice Kraken snapped a stick in half with her jaws. Breaking things made her feel good. Big and strong. Unlikemotherwhowasn'tanything. Most definately. Kraken was obviously the real leader of the pack. Or at least she would have been if she wasn't a puppy.
There really was no point in listening to Amoy because he never knew what was going on anyway. Regardless, she grumbled an incoherent answer anyway.
"Don't whine." She piped, turning exhasperatedly around.
No wonder Kiah was always so mean to him. He was one big baby. Agh. If she wasn't around she had a very good feeling that Amoy would be a lump of blue and black much by now.
Turning back around and stumbling over a rock the blind pup swore to herself and began to clumsily climb atop a rock.
Looking big was always important. Even if she herself couldn't see just how 'big' she was. Growling as loudly and fiercely as she could, Kraken hoped a bird or squirrel would come along for she and Amoy to maul. Someone had to toughen that boy up.
