When it comes to bass solos I find there's a lot of generic crap. I personally think that Anestia (pulling teeth) Clif Burton's version of Ron McGoveney's bass solo is great. Les Claypool's bassing in general, especially on Tommy the Cat and one more that stands out is run to the hills, by Iron Maiden.
