Either way, its like taking a magicians tricks, and posting them online. Its like telling a person how to make their own Mona Lisa. Like someone taking the plot to a famous movie, and imitating it exactly. In the end its not your work. You cant claim anything more than the fact that you can play it. I think you can compare it to the idea of stealing mp3s. You are still taking away from that artist in a way. If they are out publishing books with tabs, and information from the artists, and people just take that information and post it online, its EXACTLY like stealing mp3s!

Personally I enjoy tabs. I think its fun, but I get way more satisfaction when I can learn a line or two by listening and working hard at reproducing material. In the end I find that more respectful to the artist, and more beneficial to yourself as a performer.
