Gnarled root... why the heck did he want her to stand there...? Didn't he need any help? Well, it wasn't like her to take the lead to any situation so she nodded slowly, agreeing before prancing over to the root. She lifted her paws carefully, making sure not to make any unnecessary noises. Titling a curious emerald head, Tiamatee looked at V.
She wasn't sure she understood his night music comment... or really any comments. He talked differently than anyone she'd ever seen but... it wasn't entirely a bad thing. Tia wasn't exactly sure why this wolf was so different but... she wasn't worried about it at that point.
Nodding her head slowly, she pricked her ears forward, ready for whatever was about to begin. She then whispered, "Alright.." and swished her tail behind her slowly. Hunting in the night could be exciting she supposed... as long as she wasn't doing the hunting...

"Very good," he said with a nod of his massive head. He then shook himself and like a conductor about to command the whole orchestra he struted in place before rolling his shoulders. As soon as he was ready he raised his head up and let out a long howl followed by another and another. As soon as it was issued trees began to twist and roots break with movement as the deer that had been sleeping began to jerk awake and then run out of harm's way.
It seemed that Valentin knew the very path that they would take as they hurdled their lithe bodies towards the two wolves. They missed Tia's form by a few inches as V expected, and they didn't seem to see her as they hurried off. V' himself was in the shadows watching them intently, picking out his favorite and when he spotted he lunched his body at the running animal.

The howls startled Tia, making her take a step back, eyes focused on V's form. She didn't want to lose him... not now, not in the... dark. Of course, she could tell herself she'd been fine before he came along... but that'd be a lie. She knew very well that tonight would have been horribly long and terrifying if she'd been alone. The next question hit her and sent a lump to her throat, would she have even survived it? Well, she didn't have to worry about it at the moment... of course... she was safe... she thought.
At that very moment a deer raced past her, followed by several others... then more... and more... It seemed like they were never ending. Part of that could have been that her head was spinning and she realized if she'd been a few inches closed she'd be covered in deer tracks. A wolf trampled by deer, now that was a sight to see... it could happen, anything could really but... well, she didn't want to think about it. After turning a curious head and pricking curious ears, Tia tried to look overtop of the deer, searching for V.
...she didn't see him.

When V's body hit the wolf it sent them both down with the impact. Not that the act was a surprise to a wolf who was well trained in the game of hunting. He jerked his body 'round, pivitng his hips and legs to follow so that he could latch his jaws on the deer's neck before the creature had time to realize that it had even fallen. It was a pity, really, that the thing did not have a fair chance. But Valentin knew that in every food chain there must be the predator and the prey that followed. He could feel the warm coppery blood ooze from the side of his snout onto the ground below. It took all but a minute before the deer stopped twitching to let V know that it was surely dead.
And once it was V looked up to see that the rest of the deer had moved out of the way to allow nothing to the scene but V and his prey to be set. He looked up at Tia and moved away from the carcus.
"Dinner is served," he said bowing low.

Tia watched the deer fly by her, missing her by just that much... she felt a little strange, being so useless in the dark but it didn't much matter. The work was done and she'd stood and watched, joy. Sighing, she lowered her head, tucking her tail between her legs as she trudged over to V. She felt terribly... worthless. Taking a moment to view her surroundings, she scanned the area, noticing trees... more trees... and darkness... Her gaze then landed on V and his blood covered muzzle, oh dear.
Skittering closer to him she lifted her head slightly, letting her tongue flick across his muzzle. After realizing what she'd done, she gave him a horiffied look and stepped backwards, tripping over the deer to land on her soft, greenish rump. Meanwhile her head turned, looking away from the male she'd just attempted to 'clean'. Or... was that what she'd been doing...?
Flicking two ears back and forth, she kept her back to the dark male, staring out into the blackness. She noticed that through the trees the sky was littered with small lights, stars... so... the night wasn't all so horrible. Finally, gathering the courage to mumble something she tried, "S-sorry.."

As her tongue flickered across his maw V's ears perked up as with his dull eyes. He wasn't used to....this. When most gaze upon the white ghost like face of V' they looked away. Showing affection, of any kind, was not something anyone did to him. He was greatly appreciated.
"It's alright," he said soothingly. His voice resonating like warm gooey maple from the finest form of the most granduer tree. "Now then....why don't you eat, surely you must be hungry after such a long walk." He smiled and stared at her, as if just now realizing how beautiful her coat was, how shiny her eyes were, and how good that gesture, no matter how small it was, felt.
"My name is Valentin," he said quietly, though the words bearing more weight then the world.

Tia's kid-like nature finally showed, the dark no longer keeping her confined to a scared pup-like wolf. Hopping over to the food, she sniffed at it, flicking her long pink tongue out to trace over the blood of the deer. After ripping a strip of meat of off the warm corpse, Tia stepped away from the food. It was strange for her, she wasn't used to eating before others. As she began to chow down, she heard V mumble something, which made her ears flicker towards him.
Stepping away from the piece of meat, Tiamatee cocked her head to the side, unsure of what him telling her his name mean. Had they met again already..? She was completely confused and had no idea how to respond to the dark male standing before her. Feeling quite dumb, Tia stepped forward, continuing to tilt her head at Valentin, "I uh... did we meet again...?" she questioned, realizing she sounded as stupid as she felt.
Meanwhile her bushy tail swished behind her, blue eyes staring intently at the pale faced loner in front of her. She'd never before felt so confused about such a simple thing... what was wrong with her...?

Valentin leaned his maw down and ate hungrily, though daintly all at once. When he heard her question he looked back up, his pale eyes never leaving her form. He chewed slowly, assuredly. "Yes, I believe we have met twice. Metaphorically at least, but we have. Once when I helped you out of darkness," he said jerking his head back to where they had just come from and then looked back to the fem in front of him. The food now was after the fact. He wanted to fill his belly, but he wanted to feel the desires of his heart even more.
"And then again....when you helped me out of darkness."
